Dear Angelika,

Well, I've done it! I have finally achieved my goal in life. I've been accepted into the circus, so now my life is going to change...for the better.

Oh, it's so wonderful, sister, I wish you could see it through my eyes. I know mother thinks that the circus is something to be ashamed of, but I truly believe it to be a noble profession. I am around entertainers, people who make the world a more colorful place, who make people smile. They use their personalities and their skills to make people live happier lives, to give them a break from their mundane days.

How many people can say that?

Exactly, not many.

Oh, what a time to be alive! This explosive time period with all these amazing new opportunities. The world is becoming a thrilling place with entertainment at the center of it. Hollywood might have its role to play, but I am quite happy being here, thank you very much.

So, the freak show is interesting. I have met people, unlike anything I have ever seen before. The boy with crab claws for hands is fascinating. Good looking actually, a handsome man that would have women falling at his feet were it not for his strange hands that I have no idea how he copes with. Then there's the small woman. Mary. She is tiny and adorable, a real sweetie. Her height doesn't hold her back because she's such a tough cookie. I really admire her. There is also a lady with a beard. I do not know her name yet, but she is wonderful. She smiles all the time through the beard, which is very impressive.

There are other acts as well, trapeze artists, clowns, the performers who work with animals...they all do such a fantastic job. It really is a sight that the world is lucky to behold. When I watched the show for the very first time I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head.

Can you imagine, me with no eyes? The best freak of them all!

I so wish you could see this world through my eyes. I think you would love this just as much as I do.

We will be moving soon, traveling to a new place, and I'm very excited about it. It will be scary to leave everything that I've ever known before behind, but I don't have the best memories in the world so maybe this is a good thing. I didn't realize how sheltered my existence was before I came here, but these people have seen it all, they aren't concerned with petty problems because they are out there having a good time. They have performed in parts of the world that I haven't even heard of.

That will be me soon, Angelika, I will be the one performing all over the world. Oh, what an exciting life I am going to have. I cannot wait for it.
