Part Three ~ Cat's Out Of The Bag -

I looked at the time and saw that I only had an hour of my shift left to go now, which meant there was only one more hour of the dirty looks from Jay and the other boys accusing him of flirting with every single time he came to the bar for a drink.

"So, are you going to take that time off that I said to?" Jay asked, as he came to the bar once again.

"I need the money. I can't afford to take holiday leave." I whispered as someone else came to the bar and actually wanted serving.

"And why not? I mean, it is just you, isn't it?" Jay questioned me.

"You don't really think that I didn't move on, did you?" I laughed slightly at how stupid he was being.

I wasn't going to stay single for the rest of my life, and I wasn't planning on going back to Nathan either. So I was always going to find someone else and I was always going to be as happy as I could be, considering what I had done.

"So, you-"

"Hey babe." James interrupted him as he walked over to the bar, Aimee in his arms, and a smile on his face.

I walked away from Jay and round the other side of the bar so I could see the both of them; Aimee immediately reaching out her arms so that I could take her in a hug.

"Hey." I replied, allowing James to give me a quick kiss on the lips.

"Any chance of getting served here, or are you too busy to do your job?" Jay shouted at me, waving an empty bottle in my direction as he did so.

"Go back to daddy for me, yeah?" I smiled at Aimee and she just did as I asked her to do as I walked back round the other side of the bar and gave Jay the same bottle of beer he had been drinking all night. I placed the bottle on the bar and took the money for his hand, giving him the change back.

"She's beautiful, what's her name then?" he asked me.

"It's got nothing to do with you. She's my daughter and it's no concern of yours what her name is." I snapped quietly to stop the boys from looking over at us again; although they all seemed to be having too much of a good time to realise what was going on.

Kelsey and Tom were deep in conversation with each other, Siva and Nareesha had already gone back to the hotel, Max was in a conversation with Nathan and Jade - I think that's what her name was anyway - was busy on her phone.

"How old is she then?" Jay asked.

"Again, that has nothing to do with you either. Just go back to your friends and leave me alone." I hissed in annoyance.

"So, is she the reason that you left Nathan and came out here?"

"No. She isn't the reason I left. Now, will you just leave me alone, please?" I asked him again, hoping her would get the message and just go away because I wasn't going to have this conversation with him.

"Babe, is everything alright over here?" James asked, walking over to where me and Jay were 'talking' with each other about Aimee and who she was.

"Yeah, everything is fine thanks. Jay was just going back to his friends, weren't you?"

"She's even more beautiful up close, and those green eyes are lovely. Where does she get them from then because neither of you have green eyes?" Jay asked as he looked between me and James as he spoke, trying to get one of us to tell him the truth, but I wasn't going to tell him anything and I certainly wasn't going to tell him the truth.

"My mum has green eyes, that's where she gets them from. Now, I do believe she's asked you to leave her alone, so how about you just do it. Yeah?" James replied for me.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone. But, as they say, the truth will out." Jay laughed as he walked away from the bar and James took his seat with Aimee sitting on his lap.

"Who was he then?" James asked me.

"That was Jay, he's here with Nathan; but he doesn't have a clue who I am. Jay is the only one who seems to have recognised me." I replied, handing James a can of coke and Aimee a Blackcurrant Fruit Shoot, which happened to be her favourite thing to drink when we were out.

"Is he going to tell Nathan who you are then?"

"I don't think he will. He's already told me that he doesn't want to be dealing with all the heartbreak again, so he would be stupid if he did tell him." I sighed, wishing that time would hurry up and go quicker so that I could go home and be done with today; the sooner it was over with, the better it was going to be for me.

"El, you need to tell him while he's here, or you're never going to have the chance to tell him." James replied.

I knew that he loved me and he loved Aimee as well, but he had always insisted that I tell Nathan the truth and give him a chance to be a parent to our daughter; but I never had the courage to tell him because I knew he would hate me for making him miss out on three years of his daughters' life.

"I don't know how to tell him. I need time to think about it, not just come out with it the minute he walks into my pub."

"And why not?"

"Oh. What do you expect me to say, 'hey Nathan, Ellie here, sorry I walked out on you. Oh, by the way, meet your three year daughter.' Do you really think it's that simple?" I snapped unintentionally, earning me some looks from a couple of the people that were stood at the bar, just drinking their drinks and staying away from where all the drama was taking place.

"No. That's not what I meant, and you know it's not."

"That's what it sounded like to me. Nathan will find out the truth when I want him to find out the truth, and not before that, okay?" I whispered angrily at him because I wasn't going to tell him with a click of my fingers and I wasn't going to just come out with it when his girlfriend was sat with them as well; that would just be the stupid thing to do.

"And what would this truth you're telling Nathan be?" someone asked, and I looked over to see Tom stood at the bar with his money out.

"Nothing. What can I get you." I sighed.

"Do you really think we're all that stupid Ellie? With the exception of Nath, we all recognised it was you the minute we walked into this place."

"Then why didn't you walk straight back out again?" I questioned him.

"We thought that Nathan might recognise you, and then you would have had to answer for your actions. But he just seems to think you look like Ellie..."

"Yeah, I know that. Now, what do you want because I haven't got all day?" I asked again, checking the time at the same time and seeing that only ten minutes had gone since I last looked.

I'm telling you, time is deliberately going slow for me because it wants me to suffer and go through all of this and it wants me to punch someone a little too hard in the face.

Especially if they keep up with all the questions that they're asking and don't leave me the hell alone.

"That's a beautiful little girl you got there, is he the father?" Tom asked with a smirk.

"Look Tom, are you going to order anything or did you just come to be an annoying twat?" I snapped at him.

"I want three bottles of beer, a can of coke, a bottle of water, vodka with coke and eight of whatever shots it is that you sell here." Tom replied and I just got on with his order, ignoring all the comments he kept making about Aimee and who her father was. I placed everything down in front of him, with the exception of the shots, which I had to go round the other side to get for him because the regulars complained about them and said they were a drink for young people and not for them - or something along those lines anyway.

I poured them one by one, placing each of them on a tray when I was done, and then went back round to give them to Tom and tell him how much it was going to cost.

Only to find that he was talking to James and Aimee, which annoyed me even more because I had told him to leave them alone; I just wanted him to give me his order and then leave me alone for the rest of the time that I was here.

I would leave them with Steph since she was the one who was working when I finished and didn't really like it when people messed her around.

"That will be $20.75 please." I said, slamming the shots down on the bar.

"Here you go. You can even keep the change, never know when you might need some extra money." Tom smirked at me again as he handed me $25 before he went back to his conversation with James, and they seemed to be getting along with each other better than I thought they would be.

"Will you just go away and leave us alone." I snapped.

"El, will you calm down. He's not doing anything." James said, shocked at my sudden outburst.

"I don't care what he's doing, I want him to leave us alone. So, just go the hell away Tom." I shouted louder than I thought I did because it seemed most of the pub heard me and they were now all looking at me, surprised that I would just snap at someone like that because most of the people in here thought I was friendly and a good laugh - this was the first time they had seen me snap like this.

"Ellie, I think you should go out the back and calm down." James said as he handed Aimee to Tom and walked round the other side of the bar, guiding me towards the back where no one could see me and it would give me time to calm down before I finished my shift.

"Wait? Why did he just call her Ellie?" I heard Nathan say as James pushed the door to and covered me behind the bar while I got all the anger out of system before I actually did punch someone and lose myself my job.

"That's her name mate..." I then heard Tom chuckle awkwardly.

"No. There's something your not telling me. She looks like El, she sounds like El and her name is Ellie. Just tell me the truth?" Nathan said.

This was only going to get better from here.

Right?
