Limerence

Limerence: (n.) the state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person

He stole the sun and the moon for her, so he might steal her heart,

So, once, for him, she might smile

His sun-soaked words do so beguile

In charm, he was a connoisseur; to be lovelorn is an art.

He painted crimson words for her, night skies of ebony,

The watercolor city's stars

And wrote the lilting sundry bars

And notes that soared as birds for her, resplendent melody.

He ushered her to wild skies, an uncharted horizon,

She scrutinized in cool delight

Jungles, seas, exotic sight

He loved only her mild eyes, witnessed flaming gold sunrise in.

He withstood the shifting world for her, wicked words repelled,

And no man would, with him in earshot,

afront her, nay, they daren't not!

Always her honor, brazenfaced sir, would fight to keep upheld.

He stole the sun and the moon for her, sought conquest of her heart,

In vain, pursued her radiant smile

His starlit words did so beguile

But Death! Death came too soon for her; it tore the skies apart.

When the sickness triumphed, in wild grief, he fell upon her weeping

The future nigh undreamed of

For it had been unspoken love

He bore anguish of no relief, and to this day is keeping.
