Summer

This morning, I woke up to the 'alarm' because now that I'm a ninja, I have to wake up at the 'alarm' along with the guys. I quickly change into my ninja gi. It was electric blue (my favourite colour) with platinum grey accents. It even has platinum grey shoulder pads but I decided not to put them on and a hood with a crown on the front. (Think ZX suits)

When I came back into the room from Truth or Dare last night, I found it folded up on my bed.

It's your new ninja gi," Nya says coming in.

"Cool," I say.

"Oh and here's a copy of the training schedule," she says, handing me a piece of paper.

Monday: Summer & Jay - Mastering power

Tuesday: Summer, Kai, Zane and Cole - Basic Training

Wednesday: Summer, Lloyd and Sensei - Spinjitsu

Thursday & Friday: Everyone - Normal Training

Saturday & Sunday: No training

Everyone else who doesn't have an assigned activity can do normal training.

"Oh god..." I say, staring at the sheet.

"Yep, you're gonna be really busy the next few weeks," Nya says, brushing her hair.

"Hang on, why aren't on the sheet?" I ask, pointing to it.

"I don't know," she shrugs sadly, "I'm a samurai, not a ninja," The gong goes of again as we both clamp our hands over our ears as hard as we can.

"Well, gotta go!" I shout, grabbing my hood, fingerless gloves and bow.

"See ya!" Nya shouts back as I run out onto the deck.

I've never felt so exhausted since the school sprintathon (technically it was a walkathon but they made us run the whole 2km). I spent the past three weeks training. I also showed the others the second part of my bow, just press that same little button twice on the bow and it breaks into two and becomes twinned daggers. Cool huh?

We arrived at the monastery a couple days ago and I met Lloyd's mother, Misako. She's really nice but also seemed a bit sad as well. When I asked Nya about it, she told me that Garmadon, Lloyd's father cursed himself to save Ninjago from Anacondri 'wannabes' and I immediately regretted asking.

I'm getting better with my basic skills (punches, kicking and fighting styles) and my static power that I electrocute Jay from far distances (yes, I did it a couple days ago and Kai recorded it because it was SO HILARIOUS!) but I'm going nowhere spinjitsu. I usually end that training session sore, bruised and completely exhausted. I have to complete this REALLY complicated obstacle course BEFORE Sensei finishes his tea. So far, it's practically impossible, even with Lloyd helping and encouraging me the whole way. I'd be happy to actually be able to complete the course before focusing on my speed to finish it before Sensei finishes his tea. I need to speed up training. I'll start training in at night.

I wake up at 11 in the middle the night. I sneak outside onto the courtyard and close the door then use my powers to close up any gaps in the windows, doors so the others don't wake up to my night time training session. I press the button and the training course pops up, starting already. I plug my phone to the speaker and turn it on. I find it easier to concentrate with music on because it blocks out any noise distractions around me. I go through my song list and choose Eye of the Storm by The Fold (AWESOME band by the way!).

What's that? What's going on at 11 in the middle of the night?  I woke up to the sound of doors closing. I creep out and as I make it to the door to the courtyard I can hear something faintly.

Is that... music?...  I have no idea why Eye of the Storm is playing now but as I open the door, I now see why. Summer. The obstacle course is out and I can see her on it. She's trying to master spinjitsu. Hang on, what's that's in the background of the song?

Attention all, Ninjago is under attack!

Is she... singing? God, can this girl get any better?

To unlock peace perfect balance will be the key

I've just failed the course (again) when I hear a voice join in.

And just like dreams some things aren't what they seem to be

It's like an analogy...the power has lost connection

I whip around the see Lloyd, standing at the doorway. When did he get here?!

Get up! Get up! Get up! Get up! Let's go!

We both sing at the same time and I gasp a bit at the end when I hear Lloyd properly. He turns to me and mouths "Hey" before going through the course to get to me.

Attention all, Ninjago is under attack!

Lloyd flipped off the course and landed next to me.

"Hey," he whispered in my ear.

"Hey," I whispered back."

"Are your trying to master spinjitsu?" he whispers back.

(Nin-ja-go)

"Yep but failing," I whisper back.

We're in the eye of the storm!

"Let me help you," he walks me back to the start and says "But I think you already know how to do it." What? He's joking... right...

"Move with the beat Summer," Lloyd says.

Wait what- oohhh I get it now.

Calling all ninjas!

I've got a minute before the song ends.

To the eye of the storm!

I look back to Lloyd and he smiled and winked back at me. I smile back with confidence because I know what to do now. In time with the beat Summer.

And now! I start the course as soon as the first note came out for the final chorus.

I finish the song before the song ended and I start to spin around until all I could see was a blur of bright blue.

"You did it Summer! Lloyd shouts as I stop, feeling absolutely dizzy.

"Hey, I've got you," he catches me just before I hit the ground.

"I did it," I say, breathing so hard from exhaustion.

"Yes you did," he says, pressing his lips on mine. I felt a zap of electricity as I embrace the kiss. After a while, he pulls us apart and walks to wards the door.

"Goodnight Summer,"

"Night Lloyd..."

Wow, couldn't this get any better? Summer and I just kissed again... and we haven't been on a date yet! I need to ask her out... but how... I keep on thinking about Summer as I fall into a deep sleep.

I wake up at eight cause there's no training today (THANK GOD!) and head out the breakfast and chuckle to myself. Cole decided to make pancakes for breakfast and judging by the looks on everyone else's faces, they're definitely not enjoying it.

"Jay, you definitely weren't joking when you said Cole's cooking was terrible," Summer says, spitting out a piece of pancake. Summer...

"Yeah. You've heard about his duck chowder right?" Jay asks, chucking the whole plate of pancakes inn the bin.

"Yep. Nya told me and she also mentioned that your mouth was glued shut," Summer chuckles, getting everyone else's plates and chucking their pancakes in the bin.

"Oh yeah! That was hilarious!" Kai laughs, handing his plate to Summer. Jay muttered something under his breath.

"Hello Lloyd," Zane says as I sit down, "You just missed Coles pancakes,"

"What? I thought I did a good job," Cole whines.

"Hehehehe. No," Jay snaps.

"Where's Sensei?" Summer asks abruptly.

"He's in his room as usual. Why?" Nya answers.

"Nothing. Just gotta ask him something," Summer answers as she walks towards the doorway.

"Like what?" Cole asks, still eating his pancakes. How can he eat that?!

"None-ya business," Summer says, leaving the room.

"Geez weez...," Cole grumbles, finishing his pancakes.
