I follow Mikasa, Eren, Levi and Hanji as they walked down the decrepit and desolate streets. It looked almost like hell on earth with the destruction and aftermath of chaos but without the fire and heat. My feet thudded against the floor easily and I was tempted to just tiptoe since the ground shook at every step I took. I held my arms, frowning at how dead and empty the streets were, at how desolate and lifeless it was.

"Well. Take us to your house." Levi mutters out as we stopped, Eren trying to remember which road he was from one of his many memories.

"Yeah... Right..." We continued walking and despite the lack of life, Shinganshina felt oddly... quaint and calm.

"Is this the place?" Hanji asks and I frown, seeing the boulder that had crushed Eren's house... and his mothers legs. The house looked warm and colourful with the green moss and flowers sprouting from every inch of grass possible with butterfly and birds sitting peacefully on the rock.

How ironic...

Eren and Mikasa walked around trying to find the door to the basement, moving cutlery around until they saw the door peeking from beneath the boulder. "This is it. The stairs to the cellar are beneath this door." Eren tells Levi and he turns to look up at me.

"Do you mind." I step forward and bend down to grasp the boulder, holding it tight and lifting it up gently. I struggled beneath the wight, my body aching from exhaustion and I quickly drop it next to me, wincing at the loud thud. "Careful brat. You've been through enough. Don't need you throwing your back out either."

"Yeah yeah..." Levi quirks a brow up at me and I sigh out, deciding to sit down on the floor and lean against the boulder.

"Do you want me to cut you out?" Levi asks gently and I'm surprised how soft his tone was.

"Not yet. You still need my form." Levi narrows his brows at me and nods.

"Fine but get some rest. We don't need you passing out on the way back home." I just nod, too tired to say anything and Eren opens the basement door.

"Oi, the key doesn't open the door at the end of the hallway. Just smash it open or something." I yawn out and Eren looks at me with wide eyes.

"What!?"

"What do you mean the key doesn't open the door." Hanji asks.

"It opens something side the room behind the door." Everyone nods and descends the stairs as I just sit back and relax. I don't know how long it's been until Hanji, Levi, Eren and Mikasa walk back out from the basement with the three diaries of Grisha in their hands. I yawn out, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I see the sun starting to set. I get up and follow behind them as they talk about the diaries, reaching the walls to inform the others that we were going home.

"Let's head back." Hanji yawns out, sitting ontop of my head as everyone else scrambles to climb onto me.

"Hold on tight and I mean it." I grumble out lowly, bending down and jumping over the wall easily before landing and bolting off across the field. I hear Hanji squeal out in joy as the others scream in fear. I chuckle and reach Wall Rose in no time, seeing the rest of the scouts waiting for us on top of the wall. They burst into cheers as the public celebrated the news that Wall Maria was reclaimed.

"Come on brat. Let's get you out." I kneel down and lower my head after I set everyone safely on the wall. I close my eyes and wince, feeling the blade before feeling the cool breeze of the air as I felt Levi's arms pull me out from my titan form.

I open my eyes and freeze.

No... This can't be happening...

"(y/n), why are you blinking rapidly-what happened!?" I hear Hanji call out for me with worry as I burst into tears.

"Brat, what's wrong with you-"

"-Levi, where are you!?" I cry out, my body filled with dread and panic as I couldn't see him.

All I saw was darkness.

"Levi!" I cry harder, reaching out for him as I couldn't see the sunset behind him or the grass beneath my titan form. "I can't see! I can't see!"

"How long has she been like this Levi?"

"It's been a few days."

"Has she been eating?"

"Hanji, if she won't get out of this room, what makes you think she's going to eat?"

"Have you at least been trying!?"

"Of course I am! I don't want her dying on me!"

"...What do we do?"

"I don't know but I'm worried. She hasn't stopped crying."

"...The doctor doesn't know if she will get her sight back, especially since she retains a degree of injuries from her titan form."

"...I'm going to kill that fucking bastard Reiner. He did this to her." I stay still as I hear the two captains talk about me but all I could was just curl up in a ball and squeeze my eyes shut. I don't know who's pillows I have soaked through with my tears as I hid beneath what I think was a blanket. I bury my face into the pillow, crying silently. "(y/n). You have to eat something." I hear Levi tell me this for the umpteenth time. I had lost count ever since he agreed to look after me. I shake my head, not wanting to open my eyes and come to the realisation I was blind.

If I keep my eyes closed, I'll only see the darkness then.

Yeah. I don't need to open my eyes. I know I can see.

I'm just sleeping... just resting my eyes... I can see...

I can see...

My lips quiver as more tears fall and I feel someone pull the blanket off my head. "Oi, you're ruining my sheets..." Levi grumbles out and I freeze

So I'm in his bed again...

I curl up more, almost suffocating my head into the pillow as I tried to remember what Levi's bedroom would look like but it was faint seeing as I had a terrible imagination.

I felt the bed dip beside my legs as Levi tsks. "Please. Hanji has tried to give you food but you won't cooperate. You need to eat something, your body is fading away." I flinch as Levi lays a hand on my shoulder and I inwardly wince at how cold and bony I realised I was.

"Go away..." my voice muffles out.

"Your sight will come back. It's just going to take time-"

"-don't fucking lie to me. I heard you and Hanji." I hiss out and Levi sighs. "I'm not going to be able to see again..." I tear up, sniffling against the pillow. "It's just.. gone. And all I see is darkness. I can't see you anymore Levi, I can't see anyone anymore! It's all gone!" I cry out but it hitches in my throat when I suddenly get picked up from the bed. "Put me down!"

"No. I've had enough of you starving and soaking my sheets." Levi growls out and I lean my forehead on his shoulder, still keeping my eyes closed tightly. I don't know where I am until I feel heat and sweet smells of lavender. Levi sets me down on an edge and he holds me tight. "Don't fall back. Hanji ran a bath for you."

"Just let me go back to bed-"

"-no. I'm done seeing you all depressed like this and shit." I balance myself on the edge of the bathtub, slowly turning around and trailing my hand down the inside to finally feel the water.

"What is this?" I scrunch up my face, feeling something crinkle against my hand.

"Bubbles. Dumb four eyes filled the bath to the brim with this shit."

"Don't let go of me!" I cry out when Levi lets me go and I try to reach out for him. He quickly grabs my shaking hand in his and I calm down, wiping away my tears. "Please. Don't leave me alone in the dark."

"I'm sorry (y/n)." Levi holds my hand tight. "I won't let go." I visibly relax but I notice the awkward silence. "... I need you to take a bath though. You reek..."

"Oh..."

"I'll turn around and hold your hand. Just sit in the bath. It will cover you." I nod hesitantly, using one hand to remove a nightgown I was wearing? I think? I slip it off, switching hands to hold Levi's and I fumble around trying to step in the bath without falling. I shudder against the boiling heat against my cold skin and I sigh out from the warmth.

I hold my legs up to my chest, wrapping my free arm around it. "Done..." I lower my head when I feel Levi move closer and sit on the edge of the bath. "Have you guys gone to court about Grisha's diaries?"

"We have."

"So everyone finally knows about the outside world huh..." I mutter out, laying my head on the edge. "What was I wearing?" I whisper softly.

"Uh, one of shitty glasses nightgowns."

"Can you explain it to me. Please." I hear shuffling and I feel cloth rest in my hands and I grasp it.

"It's a green colour, which I think is horrendous but oddly fits four eyes personality." Levi starts, explaining the gown and I furrow my brows, trying to imagine what it would look like. "It's long sleeve and I think its silk? What do you want me to say, I don't know much about clothes."

"Does it have any designs?"

"Uh, so sort of beading and flowers around the bottom and the collar."

"Does it look nice?"

"Fuck no. It's the most hideous thing I've ever seen." I chuckle, feeling a twinge of amusement after a long time. We sit in silence for it and I hear Levi sigh out. "(y/n)... Just try and open your eyes." I grit my teeth and throw Levi's hand away, letting him go.

"There's no point-"

"-just try! Please..." my breath hitches as I feel his thumb brush over my eyelids softly and I blush madly. "For me at least."

I don't know if I can...

It's been days since...

I rub my eyes and slowly blink, my lips quivering as tears spill down my cheeks. "I can't see anything..." All I saw was splotches of grey and black as I bury my head in my arms. "I knew it..." I hear Levi move and I feel him lean over to hug me, holding my head to his chest as he rested his chin on top of my head. I softly cry into his shirt, gripping the back of it as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"You will get better (y/n)."
