Easter
"Happy Easter, Sherlock!" It is seven o'clock in the morning and it is the first time that John is earlier awake than I am. For once I cannot stand his mirth. I grasp a pillow and press it to my face to stop the bright light, that is burning in my eyes. "Aren't you glad?" John shakes my shoulder.
"Easter is for children." I sigh. I turn on my tummy, enjoying the comfortable laying position.
"Then you're a pedophile." He supposes. He crosses his arms, showing that he is right about it. I hate him, because now I have to put effort in expressing my disbelief. I set myself upright and turn to him.
"What? Why?"
"I love Easter, and you love me." He laughs devilishy with a cute gaze.
"If it doesn't bother you, this pedophile wants to sleep." I squeeze myself in the by my on each other placed pillows. John remains staring at me.
"Do you love children?" He grins. Again I set myself upright on the edge of the bed. Eyeing John with raised eyebrows.
"What I said, didn't make sense." I start. "Easter isn't for children. It is for people who like irritating other people." He grasps a pillow and hits me with full power against my arm. "Little child!" I shout. He shows his tongue and throws a pillow to my face. I take that same one and go on pressing it on his face, while we fall backwards. I land at him with my full weight, he groans. We stare into each other's eyes.
"Although you insulted me, I love you with my whole heart." He announces - romantically.
"Nevertheless you hurt me deeply, John." I wink. John lifts his head to approach. He wants to kiss me. Before he can do that, I roll away from him. I don't give him the chance, because I need to dispel that word.
"No, don't leave. I just started liking it." He begs, his hands pressed to each other.
"Sorry, John. I need to prove that it isn't me." I stand up willfully and with raised head I leave the bedroom.
"To let me suffer without love?" He calls. With a grimace I walk into the kitchen. I do not expect John for the coming ten minutes. He'll probably wash himself and get ready for whatever he's about to do today.
I open the cupboards, searching for posh food. I have a sigh when the guardian angel walks in on a proper moment.
"Look, Sherlock. I know you would be the first one awake, so you can surprise your John." Mrs. Hudson puts up the heavy bag on the counter.
"Yes, indeed." I respond seriously. Especially for me she removes the purchased products. "Thanks, Mrs. Hudson. You're a sweetheart."
"Yes, I know." She rubs my cheek and heads for her tiny living room with the empty bag.
Frustrated, because I don't know what I have to do, I sit down on a chair. It's a lot. The shower stops spraying and I start to panic. I didn't even start preparing anything. Saving my surprise is only possible to devise a ruse. I sprint to the bathroom door and
take a tough, dominant stance. John frightens to death.
"Wow, what are you doing here?"
"Asking you something." I respond gently.
"Ask me." John waits patiently for my words.
"There's no food. I perish of hunger. Here, my credit card. Bread and jam is enough." I hurriedly offer the card and push him into the hallway.
"My coat is on the couch." He points, murmuring.
"It's warm enough." I do not let oppose me. "The store will almost close."
"For once it's opened so early, Sherlock."
"Hurry up!" I push him. He turns to me perplexed.
"You don't go with me?" He asks quietly.
"I'm a wanted pedophile and I do not want the police catches me." I laugh.
"But..." He says.
"No buts, your own words." I walk with him downstairs to the front door. Gently I wave goodbye. Until the end of the street I follow his hesitating run with my eyes. Hurriedly I run to the food and think of what would be ready first. I'm a disaster in preparing food with John's disbelief. He thinks I pretend I'm bad in cooking. "Just in water." I minimalize the words that are printed on the package to put people wise. They make it harder than it is in fact. Bored I stare at the almost boiling water.
"How's it going?" I freighten to death. Moriary is standing behind me.
"What can I do for you?" Anoyed I walk to him. He remains standing in a for him comfortable position, me following with his targeted eyes.
"I feel lonely." He sighs. It's the saddest thing I've ever heard coming out of his mouth. He glances at the boiling water behind me. What a boring life he has.
"And I'm busy." I turn him around and push him into the hallway, like I did with John.
"Can I help or not?" He begs. I'm wondering why I am the first person he thinks of.
"What poison did you get this time?" I sigh.
"None, Sherlock. The poison is already diffused a long time." He blufs.
"Fine, let me die in loniless then. Laters!" I walk with him downstairs, pushing. Probably the water is spilled over, but then I just do the same again.
"I'm a good cook." He tries for the last time.
"Sorry, Moriarty. Cutting cadavers doesn't count." I keep the door open for him. With hesitating feelings he leaves my house. Without looking behind him he leaves the street.
Fast I hurry upstairs. In one way or another Mrs. Hudson came upstairs, without me noticing, because she is stirring patiently in some cooking-pots. "How's it going?" I ask curiously. Over her shoulder I look at what she's about to do.
"You do not have to be distracted, Sherlock."
"Nevertheless you were the one who opened the door for him." I mean. She turns to me.
"No, I didn't. I even was thinking you invited him." Her shimmering eyes send a gaze of surprise in my head. I run to the front door to see if the lock is forced. There isn't anything to see, but it's obvious to me. John forgot to lock the door accidentally. Relieved I start helping Mrs. Hudson. She complains I'd better set the table, but I can't even make heads or tails.
I push her to go on. My ruse isn't devused very well. I'd better asked John to mu a lot more. With one bread and jam he'll be back soon. It's way to easy. The table is finally set because of Mrs. Hudson's complicated instructions. It gets time I thank her some day. But first this.
"I'll do the rest." I say to be polite. Although I push her pretty compulsory into the hallway. She needs to stop John till I'm ready. Secretely I hid a suprise for John, and he has to search for it later. I'm so lucky with Mrs. Hudson's groceries, or it would be a monotonous meal. With one Easter egg, with in it the real surprise. I collect little pots and cups, and take a plateau. This one is for Mrs. Hudson. She doesn't know I'll bring her anything. That I'm polite she doesn't expect at all. The plateau for her is ready, and fast - but carefully - I descend the stairs. "For you, Mrs. Hudson." I open the door nonchalantly with my foot and almost I let fall the plateau because I'm startled. "For you too. Moriarty."
With trembling hands, and the plateau, I walk strained to Mrs. Hudson. She sits opposite Moriarty, almost enjoying his company. Moriarty beckons I don't have to be afraid and I can come closer. "No offence, but... What are you doing here? I sent you away a few minutes ago, you know."
He, and his cool being, stands up. Without taking his eyes off of me, he approaches me. I can hardly look away, because of the strong will in his eyes. He still keeps his eyes focused on me. He's way too presiding over others. "You're going to send me away again, then?" Acting tough he looks up at me, with raised head.
"To pay regard to Mrs. Hudson not, no." Him trying to imitate, I stumble on my own foot. He puts on a devilish grimace.
"Can you leave us alone?" With raised eyebrows I look at him with disbelief. He has the intention to charm Mrs. Hudson, or is he actually so lonely as he asserts?
"That's no problem for me. Continue your love dinner here. Upstairs you can find me with John." Being content with my strong respond I leave teh tiny kitchen. These two can stay here with all my pleasure. I want to be alone with John, if he arrives, though. But now he can come as late as he want. I'm far from ready.
Again I head for the bigger kitchen than Mrs. Hudson's. I have the feeling that I forgot something important, but fast I throw away that thought out of my mind. The most important thing is that John is happy, and for him my presence is enough. I smile because I think of him. Probably he's in front of a self cash desk, agressively. He isn't handy with it, and definitely when his card doesn't work.
I grasp the chocolate egg out of my desk's drawer. He isn't melted yet. I wrap a nice paper around it and hide it on the right place. A time ago I worked out a quest - for in our house - and today I can finally take a look at it. What I wrote on it, got some days ago a enigma. I only remember the final destination.
"Sherlock, I only found the brown bread." Mysteriously I turn to John, who walks under enchantment upstairs. With happy smile I approach him, but I do not reach for a hug. He has to wait for it a little bit.
"Let's eat." Giggly I lead to the table. Surprised he looks at the romantic table.
"A ruse, isn't it?" He laughs charmed. I take distance, knowingly. Or otherwise he should jump into my arms.
"What are you talking about?" I grin. "Suddenly it was here." He walks to the table and he takes a seat immediately. I sit next to him.
"You tried your best." He minimalizes the truth. Actually I tried more than my best. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. Although I am now sure that cooking isn't really my area. "What catering is this exactly?"
"Almost funny." Not admitting that it is actually a quite good spite to my effort.
"Give in. That long time I was away, you missed my nice contribution in the boring life."
"Nothing to give in, John." I wink. He takes a lot and puts it on his plate. He can eat at ease, because the egg doesn't run away. But the words I want to say at him get out my head. It isn't that important. I just want to move John with my words.
In silence we enjoy each other's presence and the presence of the delicious food. We take the time we need. Now and then we look into each other's eyes. He can hardly hide his amourness. I can't wait for the quest, but I stop the will to thought the entire time on the same.
"I'm ready." He responds happily, rubbing his tummy with his hands. It's also the first time he ate that much.
"Don't leave me. I have solething for you." Because of my last sentence he dares to stay. He turns back to me and puts his arms around me.
"It'd better be good." He laughs romantically. He brings his mouth near to my ear.
"If you find it, you'll see, love." I say mysteriously. Still I don't give him attention. That word needs to dispel out of the word.
"What do I have to do?" He jumps upright and gets ready for the next.
"I only say once: be never so happy on a simple holiday." I dictate. I stand up from my chair and grasp the paper that lays on the cupboard. "Here."
"Who's the one who's childish right now?" He winks.
"Still you, John." He reads the paper thoroughly and he hands in back to me. He wants to prove that he doesn't need it to find something easy.
Gaily he starts observing the walls, by rubbing his hands over the wallpaper. He isn't stupid, I need to give in. Because of my little clues it's easy for him to complete the first step. I give him the second paper instead of the paper he just found. Like he does already a few years, he walks funnily to the couch. He goes through the couch. "Sorry, Sherlock. I don't remove trash out of the couch, if that's your intention." He laughs again.
"This isn't a childrens' garden. Carry on working." I dictate winking. He almost melts because of my smile, his eyes betray him.
He hurries because of my order. Quickly he shows me a paper. "This is the place of the surprise?"
"You can figure out by yourself. Take a look." I follow him, pretending I don't know where the secret place is. He approaches his jacket, and he undoes the zipper.
"Since when this is in it?" Soon he understands my intention from a time ago. "It was a good weather, though."
"My intentions aren't always pointless." He grasps the Easter egg and admires it meticulously.
"You're lucky he isn't melted yet." I put on a grimace. I gesture he can eat. Instead he breaks a piece and offers it to me. I hoped he shouldn't notice it now already, but he takes the wrinkled paper. "What's this?" He asks surprised.
"Take a look." He gives me the egg and holds the little note with both his hands. When he opens it, his happy face changes into a moved gaze, like I wanted to.
"June the 30th."
"Our wedding date." I smile. He jumps into my arms and the egg falls. He embraces me tightly and I try to do the same.
"You know what just did, right?" He whispers with his lips near to my ear, still gaily. I don't respond, but wait for his words. "You lured a child with candies."
"As long as I can be with you." Our embrace ends with a long and long expected kiss. What I enjoy very much.
