Song: Sing me to sleep Nightcore

-

Sun was out again, as usual. Hisa was walking down the road with a few handbags full of groceries for the week. She was silent and her mood wasn't one you could call happy...

They're heavy...

It wasn't like she hated doing house chores, but the hot weather had her brain cells heated up to the extent that one wrong word could cause an enormous blast. All she wanted was to quickly reach home and pass out. But the way seemed to have stretched out unusually long today.

Ah...feet... please fly... please fly...

While Hisa was busy trying to make herself fly, a voice hit her ears in a sharp 'beep' kind of sound that travelled straight to her sore brain cells, giving rise to a headache. A knot of anger squeezed the ball of irritation in her head, almost causing her to burst as she turned towards the origin of the voice. "What!?" She screamed.

Not a good day indeed. There are times and situations that you don't want someone to see you in. It was certainly this moment Hisa didn't want to be discovered in. She was sweaty, irritated, and literally a mess, not in a pleasant state for a middle school girl like herself to be seen in. And worst of all, she was found out by a certain someone of all people. Kise Ryouta.

I'm doomed...

All the anger gone in an instant, replaced by sheepish embarrassment. She looked up at him as he approached her. "Hisachi!" He looked her up and down. "Are you alright? You look a mess..."

It was no use hiding now so she thought it was better to give up. "I give up..." She heaved a long tired sigh and shut her eyes. "I can't walk anymore! These are too heavy!!! Save me!!!" She whimpered, tears falling down her cheeks.

"E-Eh?" Kise blinked at the unexpected answer he got from her. "Ah! Wait let me carry them with you!"

Hisa opened her eyes, sniffing. "...Sorry for making you do this..." Yes, she was sorry and she felt a bit guilty but she was in no mood to say no to such a heavenly blessing. She turned her head to the other side trying to avoid the embarrassment she was feeling.

"That's no big deal, and I'm actually glad I ran into you." Kise took a few bags from Hisa looking curiously at them. "But I wonder why you bought this much?"

"...ah...well...there was a sale at the supermarket so I just got excited and...a bit carried away..." Hisa looked down at the bags, a slight blush crept across her cheeks.

Kise laughed, gazing at her, making her blush deepen. "I see. You're adorable~" he seriously wanted to ruffle her close-to-messed-up hair and squeeze those red cheeks that were pouting at him but he couldn't because he had his hands full with the bags. Unable to do anything about it he started to walk off in the direction she was going in. "This is the way, right?"

"From where do you think its adorable..." Hisa mumbled, adjusting the two bags in her hands, she followed Kise. "Yes, that's the way and you don't have to carry all of them...lets divide them equally..."

Kise glanced down at her, a smile gracing his lips. "If I could I should've carried all of them but this much is too much for single person to carry..." He laughed again. "I wonder how you managed to carry them alone all the way from the supermarket."

".... determination..." Hisa said looking up at Kise. "There's no way I would find all this stuff this cheap ever again, so its better to stock up when I can." Her awfully serious and genuine expression made Kise fix his eyes on her. A few long minutes and he noticed Hisa's cheeks turning a soft red again. "You're staring in the wrong direction..."

Kise blinked himself out of the daze and smiled down at her. "Nah, I think its the best direction ever."

-

The unusually long trip to home finally ended. Kise helped Hisa out putting bags in the kitchen. They both sighed and passed out on the couch in living room. "Arigato, Kise-san." Hisa smiled at Kise.

Kise smiled back. "Doitashimashitte."

"Ahh where were you headed before you ran into me?"

"Hmm...ahh! Nowhere special. Just meeting up with a friend."

"... I'm sorry I interrupted your plans..." Hisa looked down in her lap, clearly the guilt from before taking the better of her.

Kise noticed and shook his head. "No, you didn't interrupt at all. Didn't I tell you I'm glad I ran into you." Kise shifted closer to her on the couch, tugging a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Hisa started to blush again, causing Kise to smile in amusement. He moved his lips close to her ear and whispered. "Look at me, Hisachi."

His voice sent a shiver running wild in her body, Hisa could feel his hot breath tickling her skin in the worst possible ways. She closed her eyes, letting out a weary sigh. There was no way she could ignore his intimidating heat. She opened her eyes and lifted up her flushed face to meet his gaze. His face was awfully close and he was smiling.

Why do you have to smile like this...how can you be so cruel...

After gazing at each other just like that for long few minutes, Kise narrowed his eyes seductively, smile fixed to its place. He leaned further in, his one hand settled on Hisa's waist pulling her into him, and the other on her cheek.

Hisa eased into his touch, leaving her eyes opened ever so slightly. They both leaned into each other, their lips were inches apart when they heard the front door open. Their eyes widened in surprise. They were still in shock when they heard footsteps and then sound of a shopping bag hitting the floor. They hurried away to either corner of the couch with flush covered faces.

The fallen shopping bag was sprawled beside two feet that belonged to Yoshi. He had his eyes fixed on the two persons sitting on the couch right in front of him as he mumbled. "Tadai...ma..."

-

Yoshi was sitting on a single seat couch, elbows put on either of his knees and hand clasped together. His head hung on top of them. One could see a menacing aura surrounding him. Kise and Hisa were sitting on the floor in front of him. They both had their heads hung low with fear of how Yoshi was going to react. He hasn't said a word since he had spotted them. Neither of them had thought that Yoshi would be pissed to know of them, rather they were sure he would be the most supportive person. But that didn't seem the case now.

Hisa looked up at Yoshi. She didn't know what to do but she had to do something. She mustered up the courage and opened her mouth. Her voice low as she started to speak. "Y-Yoshi-nii, this isn't wh—" before she could finish Yoshi cut her off.

"Since when is it happening?" Yoshi said, his voice calm but strict, without moving from his position.

"...About a week." They both replied in unison.

Yoshi finally looked up at them, annoyance clear in his eyes. "A week!" He turned his gaze to Hisa. "It's been a week and I haven't heard a single word!?" His voice ever so slightly higher than usual as he stared at her in disbelief. He then turned his gaze to Kise. "From neither of you!"

Hisa had figured why he was so angry at them. Yoshi and Hisa had always been really close to each other. They shared even the littlest change in their lives with each other and not knowing about his beloved sister's boyfriend for a week hit him hard. He wasn't angry, he was hurt, and only Hisa could do something about it. "Go...gomenasai... Yoshi-nii... I didn't mean to hide it from you... I was just a...b-bit... embarrassed to tell you...but I never thought you'd know like this..."

Hisa could feel tears forming in the back of her eyes but there was no way she was going to cry in such a situation, she'd die of embarrassment. She bowed her head apologetically. "Gomenasai!"

Kise gazed down at Hisa in concern and bowed as well. "Gomenasai!" He couldn't think of anything to say that might not make the situation more worse.

Yoshi sighed, his expression softened. "Its not like I'm against you and I knew this would happen but I didn't expect neither of you to keep it from me. But anyways, get up now you idiots."

They blinked up at Yoshi and then their expressions relaxed into smiles. "Arigato gosaemasu!" They said in unison.

"Ah by the way, Yoshi-san, what was in those shopping bags you were carrying?" Kise asked after a few minutes. Hisa nodded, encouraging Yoshi for answer.

"Those were..." Yoshi stood up from the couch. He ruffled Hisa's hair as he passed by. "...some sweets Hisa likes. Lets eat them with some yummy food."

A confused Hisa stared at his back and then excitedly got up. "Yes. Lets make a good use of those groceries!" Smiling brightly Hisa followed after Yoshi.

-

All the day went by in a blink in chatting and playing. It was getting dark so Kise was leaving. Yoshi left the ' bye bye take care's to Hisa and went to his room.

Hisa and Kise were standing outside the door. "Today was really fun." Kise said trying to break the awkward silence.

Hisa nodded. "Yeah it was."

They both smiled at each other but no words came out of their mouths. Kise sighed. "Well then, see you tomorrow, Hisachi!" Just as he was about to walk away ., Hisa stopped him. "Wait...!"

Kise stopped in his tracks. He looked at her, his expression curious. "Yes?"

Hisa let out a sigh as if pulling up determination. She smiled up at Kise. "Can you lean down a bit?" She asked innocently.

Kise blinked his eyes rapidly, certainly curious, as he leaned down. "Okay. Sure."

Of course, Kise was tall and Hisa had to struggle to reach up to him but now he was in her reach. She grinned sweetly and took a few steps closer to him. She still had to tiptoe to get to his face level. Grabbing his coller, she pulled him closer and caught his lip in hers.

Eyes wide in shock, it took Kise a few minutes to register the reality. His eyes softened and he pulled her into him as he regained his senses. Whose heart was beating faster, no one could tell.

They pulled away. Hisa looked up at Kise, it took so much strength of her to not turn into a tomato under his gaze. She kept on gazing back at him then murmured. "Arigato. Itterashai." She took a few steps away from Kise and then hurried inside without another word.

After the door shut, Kise threw his head down. His hair covered his eyes completely but couldn't hide the slight blush on his face. He grinned. "Hisachi...kawai sugi..." He whispered, the night wind ruffled his hair as he walked away.
