THREE

"Shut up or else you know now what I am capable of." With that, she marched toward the chairs kept outside the restaurant and sat on one of those.

Just to castigate her, I didn't ring my place for another vehicle rather checked on my phone for the nearest cheap motel. It was 2kms from where we were.

Being a desolate area, there were no transportation facilities far and wide the thoroughfare. Our only option was to walk.

I left that place without telling her anything. She would have to follow me. Where else would she go? After that little stunt if hers, nobody would even help her even if she begged.

I strolled along the thoroughfare: The tall trees towered over me forming a canopy, obstructing the view of the sky. I could hear the sound of various insects and the petrichor smell of the soil filled up the air.

It must have rained yesterday here. I dug my hands deeper into my pant pockets as the temperature dropped down a few notches.

It was so serene here, no shrill voice, no long-haired demon exasperating my existence. I sighed.

She was a pain in the ass like all other females.

I recalled how my boss had chosen me for this pursuit. The task of abducting the girl who could identify Austin.

He was the new kingpin of the A-Corporation named after his father. And as he did not exist in any of the official records. Nobody had ever seen him rather than his loyal dogs.

We had been business partners on the subject of many profitable deals but then after the sudden death of his father, he backfired on us. He killed our men as well as seized the Southern deal in which we were 50:50 partners.

So, as a result, here were I stuck with a lassie to find out about Austin, the invisible man.

The thing I didn't understand was how this stupid damsel knows about Austin?

According to the sources, because of her daily daredevilry and sharp tongue, she was called by Austin himself.

I could understand his emotions. Literally.

"Wait up, you blond misogynist," I heard her high-pitched voice penetrating through my sanity.

"So, you found me, KitKat?" I said without looking at her. My eyes focused on the dimly lit road.

"Stop calling me ludicrous nicknames." She rolled her eyes and staggered beside me.

"Looks like you're having great difficulty walking with those high heels?" I sneered at her misery.

She passed me a death glare and kept her struggle intact.

After a few seconds, I heard a clicking sound. I turned around and saw her half-bent taking off her heels. One of the heels broke. Serves her right.

Soon, she started walking barefoot. She didn't meet my eyes which were certainly filled with humor.

"You know what this is? Karma." I said in a sing-song way while her face contorted into disgust.

"Aren't you supposed to be a little dangerous for using a phrase that's so lame. Are you even a real abductor plus, weren't you supposed to be an atheist?" she backfired at me while carrying her heels in each of her hands.

Her eyebrows furrowed and her lips were pressed into a thin line.

This was the maximum number of words I got out of her since yesterday. And hell, I was to get her to blurt out about the most infamous organization's owner.

"Shut-up and walk," I spoke and continued walking.

We were continuously walking for the past 3 hours.

But, I was used to it.

I looked back to see if she was dead or something. Her face showed no emotion so I cleared my throat and she quickly looked up.

After walking probably forever, we reached the motel.

I had booked the room online. Sadly, only one room was available. But, the fact that it'd drattle her seemed to pacify my headache.

I had my experience with these cheap motels when I was-

I shook those thoughts away instantly.

We went inside the room and then, her eyes turned saucer-like. Slow brain.

I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, we need to share the room." I clarified.

"Damn, you all are that poor?" she spoke with distaste. She threw the heels on the floor and placed herself into one of the settees inside the room.

"Wanna sleep in the woods? If no, then shut your mouth and go sleep on the couch." I took a pillow and a white blanket from the neatly arranged bed and put it on the couch.

She limped toward the bathroom and closed the door behind her with a thud. Bitch.

"I am not going to pay if the door breaks."

I was lying on the bed when I heard the shower turn off. I had my arm over my eyes and tried to relax.

"I need clothes," she screamed from inside.

Could I get a moment of peace?

What? Clothes?

"How the hell am I supposed to bring you clothes at this odd hour?" I replied back sitting up, my back resting on the headboard.

I checked the time on the clock hanging on the wall in front of me. It was fucking one in the morning.

"My clothes are wet. Would you want a woman in your room roaming naked? Doesn't it contradict your woman-hater mind?" she added.

I scowled at her comment.

As much as I would love to make her suffer, I couldn't afford a naked lassie in my room.

I looked around the room to catch a glimpse of any kind of clothing but there was none. What could I possibly have found in a cheap motel room like this?

There was a decent bed, a couch, two settees, and a window. There were even colorful drapes over them. So much for a motel room.

Getting infuriated, I took off my blazer, loosened my tie from around my neck and threw it on the bed along with the blazer.

I unbuttoned my shirt and taking it in my hand, I knocked on the bathroom door.

At least, she would have something on.
I puffed out a column of air and waited for the princess to enlight me with her beauty.

What do you think of him? Why wasn't she afraid of him?
