Shawn's P.O.V

Sitting in my vehicle I was drumming my fingers nervously on my steering wheel. Y/N had asked me to come over and finally meet her kids.

We had been going out for a while now and she thought now would be a good time. I was so nervous what if they didn't like me then would Y/N end things?

Getting my courage up I got out of the vehicle and walked up the front step. Knocking on the door I stood back and waited. Seeing Y/N's smiling face when she opened the door made all my nerves disappear.

"Hi Y/N!" I smiled.

She let me inside and grabbed my jacket.

"dinner is just cooking I thought i'd introduce you to the kids before we eat!" she said grabbing my hand.

"right now?" I swallowed hard.

"yes!" she smiled.

Following her to a room just off the living room we walked in and I saw two little girls sitting next to each other. They were brushing barbies hair and giggling.

"Hey you two!" Y/N gently called out.

"Momma!" they both jumped up to hug her.

Seeing me they shied away a little.  

"Marley, Paisley this is Shawn" she stepped to the side so they could see me better.

"Hi girls" I smiled and gave them a little wave.

"hi Shawn!" they giggled and ran towards me hugging my legs.

"I think they like you!" Y/N smiled. "are you ok here for a minute? I'm going to check on dinner"

"we'll be good!" I smiled back at her as the girls were already dragging me to play barbies.

A while later Y/N called us out to the kitchen for dinner. Getting off the floor I followed the girls to the kitchen and we all sat down at the table.

"thank-you so much for dinner Y/N, I had an amazing time" I smiled as I helped her clean the kitchen.

"your very welcome! i'm glad you could come" she smiled as she tossed more silverware into the dishwasher.

"your daughters are so wonderful Y/N"

"thank-you Shawn! They are the lights of my life. I was so happy they warmed up to you right away" she bumped into me gently.

"honestly me to, I was a nervous wreck before I got here" I chuckled.

"well now you had no reason to be!" she looked at me. "I can see this working out"

"you mean us?" I was shocked putting the towel away.

"totally" she smiled at me.

Grabbing her gently I kissed her lightly and couldn't wipe the grin from my face.

"that's music to my ears Y/N"
