The Cabin
When her eyes opened next, she was in a small cabin room. She lay on a cot. It was much more comfortable than lying on the coat had been. The walls were some kind of cedar or oak. She couldn't tell which. The windows were framed harshly and covered with animal skins for curtains. There was no glass in the windows. Everything was fairly small. She was lying on animal skins and covered by them. Other than that, she could tell that she didn't have on a stitch of clothes.
There was a small table in the room with a ceramic bowl and water with a towel of some kind setting on it. There was a wooden chair and a black dress laying over it. The dress was torn and had some dried blood on it. There was some kind of tall cabinet like a corner hutch in the opposite corner from her cot.
An open doorway gave a peak into another room. It had a long table, of which she could only see half and was covered in a red cloth of velvet. Various items were laying on it, but she couldn't make them out. She tried to move to get a better look and saw a fireplace of stone beyond the table. But the pain of trying to sit up made her wince and she laid back.
She was so weak. Why did she try to fight? That was such a mistake. Everything would've been alright if she'd have just gotten into the closet on her own. Runa hoped that Brian wouldn't be mad at her too long. She started playing out a conversation in her head. She tried to decide what to say to him, to make everything better. But she was exhausted and blacked out again.
