You were shocked to hear this. All of this happened, was because he wanted to feel like he belonged with his kind.

You walked towards him and said,

"I'm sorry you've been through so much. We can help you and work things out."

"How!? You're just an Outsider! How could you positively help me!?" He asked with an aggressive tone.

"I don't know. But with my friends by our side and my people, we can figure something out."

"Why would you help me!? After everything I did!?"

"Because I understand you. I've been alone most of my life. Had no one to look out for me. I also thought my life has no meaning but I was wrong. Maybe you can see it too."

Tyler stayed quiet as everyone looked at you surprised.

"You might not be able to shapeshift, but that doesn't mean you're a nobody. Tikal probably did everything she could to protect you. She probably never mentioned you because she didn't want you getting hurt."

Tyler didn't realize that you might be right. He was just so angry with his life that he never realized how much Tikal really cared for him.

After a long moment of silence, he finally broke down in tears.

Letting all of his pain and suffering out.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!"

You kneeled towards him and gave him a hug as he started crying on your shoulder.

Your friends came towards you and joined in the hug. Once he calmed down, everyone moved out the way and you stood up, holding your hand towards him.

"Let's put all of this behind us and start over, as a family."

Tyler looked at your hand while thinking about it but then he slowly grabbed your hand and stood up, as a sign that the war was finally over.

Everyone cheered in happiness as you smiled at Tyler. He smiled back as he looked at everyone as well.

Suddenly, the broken necklace started to glow as it began to fix itself. Everyone was confused from what was happening.

The necklace flew in between you and Tyler as Tikal's Spirit came out of the necklace. She twirled and raised her hands in the air as everyone gasped.

"Queen Tikal!"

"My dear Y/N, thank you for helping my brother and saving my people. You did a wonderful thing here today."

"You're welcome your highness." You bowed in front of her as Tyler looked away, feeling upset.

"My dear brother."

"Tikal...I'm really sorry for what I did. I don't blame you if you don't forgive me."

"I forgive you Tyler. It was my childish actions that caused all of this but I wanted nothing more than to keep you safe. You are my world. I knew one day you would see it."

Tyler smiled with tears in his eyes."

"I love you Tikal."

"I love you too Tyler."

Tikal looked at you again.

"For your bravery and courage to bring peace to both of our lands once again, I leave you a special gift."

"Huh?"

"And Tyler, just remember that I will always be with you."

"I know you will." He said with another smile.

Tikal pressed her hands together as they began to glow. Then, she flew a bit higher in the air, raising her hands up high and summoned the spirit animals.

They each made their own noises as they flew towards you and began to circle around you fast, making you float.

"W-What's happening!?" You asked in a surprised tone.

You were in a glowing sphere as the spirits continued to circle around you. But then they all flew above you and transformed into a gem.

Once you were back on the ground, you started to glow a bit.

Everyone was shocked once they saw you. They gasped in surprise as you asked them,

"What? What is it?"

"You...you have a gem!" Silver said as he pointed at your forehead.

You quickly touched your forehead and gasped loudly.

"What!?"

Tikal flew towards you and smiled.

"That's right and this one is real. You are obviously our newest Shapeshifter."

You formed tears of happiness.

"Thank you. Thank you so much!"

"Anything for our hero. Farewell my friends."

Tikal's Spirit returns to the necklace as it twinkles in the light.

You picked up and looked at Tyler.

"Here. You can have it."

Tyler looked at you shocked.

"To have something close from your sister."

You placed the necklace in his hand as he looked at you.

"Thank you."

Shadow walked towards you with a smirk.

"You really are special."

"Thanks Shadow. I..."

You widened your eyes as Shadow gave you a kiss. You closed your eyes and kissed back as everyone cheered again.

"All hail Y/N!"

Shadow pulled away and said, "I love you Y/N."

You blushed and said,

"I love you too."

"Hey Y/N! What's your new animal spirit!?" Silver asked.

Everyone got curious as you let go of Shadow.

"Only one way to find out."

A disembodied female voice, from an age long forgotten, echoes in your mind.
"An Outsider you shall no longer be! Awaken your animals, Shapeshifter!"

The newly formed gem on your forehead flashed numerous colors, before settling on a pristine white.

"The Symbol of Purity, Grace, and Hope." The voice announced. "Spread your wings and take flight!"

The light of the gem shined even brighter, filling the clearing with light. And in that white void, you thought you saw someone. Beckoning you to take a step closer.

Could this be the owner of the voice you heard just now?

You take a step forward, perhaps obliging to this figure's wishes, or out of curiosity. Maybe both.

Whatever the case may be, you feel something wet and refreshingly cold spring up where you placed your foot. It was water. Water was appearing with each step you took. It shimmered and rippled in the light.

You start to feel something resonate from somewhere deep inside. Urging you to let it out. And for something like this, there was only one way you knew how.

Your other foot slides forward, a trail of water forming in its wake. You raise your arms above your head, and with a deep breath, you begin.

Water droplets in the light sparkled all around you, kicked up by the movement of your feet. Some of the droplets managed to land on your body.

And wherever they landed a feather sprouted. These feathers were white, with the prismatic tips reflecting an aurora of various colors.

Through half-lidded eyes, you catch a glimpse of your feet. They were darkening, your toes spacing out as webs begin to form.

You kick your leg up, the webbing scooping up the water below. The droplets fell like rain upon your breast. And you watch a grove of white feathers grow over it.

After this, you bowed forward, swinging your arms down toward the water below. The tips of your fingers skimmed the water, before running them up your legs.

Wherever the water touched, feathers followed. Your fingers were merging together under the cover of feathers.

Series of pirouettes sent a maelstrom of sparkling droplets swirling around you. Without skipping a beat, you leapt through the air, feeling the wind blow past your face and droplets covering your arms.

Your arms began to stretch out, becoming cloaked in feathers longer and more grand than all the others.

The feathers spread down your back, tapering off into a short tail.

You feel the cold water drops fleck your neck and head, and you knew it was time for your grand finale.

You lift your wings over your face, lifting them higher as your neck begins to stretch. The top of your head as well as your ears were overtaken by the pristine feathers. While your mouth and nose elongated and flattened into an orange and black tipped bill.

Your wings parted as a black mask forms around your eyes and around your gem as the light begins to fade back into the forest clearing.

You began to transform into...a swan!

"You look beautiful Y/N!" Amy said.

"I agree!" Cream said.

"This is amazing!"

You turned back to normal and transformed again for fun but this time, you turned into a fox. (Or any other animal)

The gem glowed, and you feel a rather, odd sensation wash over you. A sense of familiarity. Not the quite the familiarity you get where you enter a place or a friend you haven't visited in a long time.

But more like how you read on a certain website filled with shapeshifter stories, and the human lead happens to get a new animal form. And you can just predict without fail what that animal form is going to be.

And unlike your swan, the animal in question is always something like a pure white wolf, a cat, a dragon or...

Your ears began moving to the top of your head. As this happens they begin to become shaped like hollow half-cones. At the same time they were being covered in golden fur that is soft, thick, and fluffy, giving you the ears of...

...a Fox.

You could laugh at how cliche that is, but There's now a pulling sensation at the base of your spine as your furry tail start to grow. The fur was the same golden color as the fur on your fox ears, only the follicles were twice as long and many times softer and fluffier.

Already it was about a third of the way long as you were tall. And it showed no signs of stopping. The tail is thick, too. So thick that you could barely even begin to wrap your arms around it.

Why was it so thick like that? You had your suspicions, but it became apparent when your massive tail began to split like a fluffy banana, splitting into not three, not six, but nine long and luxurious tails!

Of course it wasn't just any normal fox. It was a nine tailed one. What were you, some 14 year old's anime OC? In the crowd, you spot Tails trying and failing to hide his envious fumes.

The gilded fur that covered your tails began to spread over your entire body, consuming any hair that you have as it does so.

Suddenly, your legs feel very weak and torso top-heavy, forcing you onto all fours.
Next, your hands and feet changed shape. Your fingers and toes became much shorter.

The two outer toes to be even shorter than the two inner ones, forming a rough paw pad on the underside of each toe, becoming the paws of a fox.

Naturally you having the paws of a fox would mean you also have a fox's claws, so each of your remaining eight nails became a claw.

They're not very long, curving downwards and getting narrower until they come to a sharp point.

The transformation delves back into your legs. They change shape, the bones shrinking, knees bending and ankle stretching off the ground.

Until they were level with your arms. Or rather, your front legs. Thus allowing you to walk on all fours.

Then, your face starts to stretch out to form a long muzzle. Your teeth sharpen into carnivorous points.

Your nose shrinks slightly, becoming damp, black and spongy. Not to mention triangular like the nose of a fox.

Finally your irises turned a fiery orange and your pupils narrowed, like those of a cat.

You became a fox. But not just any fox. You were what's known as a Kyubi or Kitsune.
But if you want to be really cultured, you were a Huli Jing, a Kumiho, or a Ho-Ly Tihn.

"Huh?"

Everyone was confused but then, Blaze said.

"Oh cool! She can change into multiple animals!"

"That's sick!" Sonic said.

Maria walked towards you as you turned back to normal.

"Thank you." She said with a smile.

You smiled back and gave her a hug as she hugged back.

"You're welcome."

After that, the war was finally over and everyone lived in peace once again.

Tyler has finally found happiness in his home as everyone welcomes him to join their activities.

"Hey Tyler! Wanna join us!?"

He smiled as he stood up from the campfire and nodded, holding the heart necklace in his hand which he was wearing as he went towards his new friends.

You watched with a smile as well as seeing the Outsiders and Shapeshifters laughing and talking with each other.

You also started using your new powers for hunting, hiding, pranking and more.

For example, in your lion form, you would go hunting with Maria, in your wolf form, you would howl at the moon with Sonic.

In your horse form, you would participate in the Shapeshifting games, in your elephant form, you would scare your friends with your loud elephant noise for fun.

In your tiger form, you would play hide and seek or play fair games with Shadow. But your most favorite animal, was the swan! (Or a different kind of animal)So you could fly anywhere you like.

Shadow walked towards you and placed his hand on your shoulder.

"Hey Y/N."

"Hi Shadow."

"Care to challenge me in a race?"

"Sure! I'll..." You widened your eyes as he gave you a surprise kiss and quickly ran off while turning into a tiger.

"Hey! No fair! You distracted me!"

Shadow chuckled as you turned into a swan and followed him while laughing.

Yes, I chose the swan as the most popular option but for those who don't like that, I changed it up a bit so that the reader can change into any animal you would prefer.
