Chat Noir's P.O.V
I swim into the elevator, quickly grabbing Marinette's still form. Those beautiful bluebell eyes are dull and little air bubbles leave Marinette's mouth occasionally. Panic and fear are twisting within my soul. The urge to call for help is fighting its way past my common sense.
I need to calm down and find my way through my foggy thoughts. There is no time to panic when someone's life is in danger. I'm the only one who can save Marinette's life.
I place my baton over her mouth and activate the oxygen setting. Then, I release a nose plug from the very weapon and place it on her nose. I watch Marinette to see if it's working. Unfortunately, I can't tell. I will have to find someone who knows about this kind of thing and fast.
Beep beep!
Really fast.
My eyes are drawn away from Marinette for a split moment when catching something out of the corner of my vision.
There is another girl not too far away. She's still awake and struggling to hold her breath. The girl oddly looks similar to Marinette with her hair down. Yet, I didn't put much thought into it. I don't have time to focus on something that can be a later thing.
I slither an arm around Marinette's torso and swim over to the other bluenette. After wrapping my other arm around her, I made a hasty break back out the way I came in. I kick my aching legs to gain momentum. Yet, it is difficult kicking with such little space to do so and having to maneuver through the air vents while my arms are full. Plus, the added weight of two bodies makes me slower than before.
I ignore the walls closing in around me, navigating my way through the tight space. There's just enough room for the three of us but it makes what little space I had before even smaller and tighter.
It's nearly suffocating.
Beep beep!
I have to push this fear aside, shove it into the depths of my mind. I need to keep going. Need to keep pushing. Need to keep swimming. These two are running out of time and so is my miraculous. If my miraculous runs out of time before finding these two help...
"No, don't think about that! You are going to get them out of here alive! They'll be okay! Marinette will be okay!" I yell at myself, pushing forward. I can feel the girl going lax in my arm. My anxiety elevates, causing me to somehow swim faster.
Finally, I reach the last turn up. I'm breathing heavily, rushing for the light above. It feels so far away even though it's right ahead. I could reach for it but my mind is playing tricks on me, knowing well enough that it is farther than it seems. So close, yet so far away.
It definitely felt faster going down but going up while carrying two teen girls is a lot harder.
I grunt with every kick, looking nowhere else except up—the light at the end of the tunnel. My vision starts getting blurry. My head feels like a spinning top. It's probably from staring at one thing for too long, but I'm not willing to risk it all on that theory.
Beep beep!
What seems like forever finally ends the moment I break the water's surface. People are waiting nearby the vent and immediately some men help take the girls out of my hold. I climb out, keeping a careful eye on Marinette.
Someone pokes my shoulder. I turn to see the maintenance guy returning Tikki and give him a nod of appreciation. Then, I return my gaze to the girls.
A woman and man are at both bluenette's sides performing CPR. I wasn't listening to whatever the woman and man were yelling. My world has gone mute and all my focus is on Marinette. My baton and nose plug was removed from her mouth to let airflow.
"Come on, Marinette. Please, breath," I quietly beg, praying for whatever being above to give her life. I slowly approach...
Beep beep!
I look down at my ring, seeing only one paw print left. I glance between my ring and Marinette. I growl in frustration. I don't want to leave without knowing if Marinette will be okay but I need to recharge.
The bluenette girl suddenly shoots up and barfs up a ton of water. Her body wracks with coughs, greedily taking in oxygen. There is some relief in the faces in the crowd yet tension still hangs in the air, praying for Marinette to respond.
"Come on," the woman giving Marinette CPR mutters under her breath, "Breath."
I freeze, unable to look anywhere else except for Marinette. There is no sign of her responding. She just lays there still on the ground. I can feel unshed tears burning my eyes and blurring them. I shake my head in denial, shakily gasping. My chest is heavy like water filled it and everything is sinking down and down and down.
Everything hurts.
My limbs. My head. But mostly, my heart.
Was I...too late?
"No..." I frantically think, stumbling back a little, "No...I-I can't lose her too! I can't lose, Marinette! She...she's all I have left...please...no..."
The woman stops, defeat etching her face. She lets out a long shaky sigh and shakes her head. A cold rush washes over me and starts to tremble. Reality hits me like a skyscraper falls and crushes me into nothing.
I let out a water whimper, covering my mouth in disbelief at what I'm witnessing. Then, I rush over.
No.
I'm not going to lose her!
NO!
I grab Marinette's form and leap a few buildings away. I perform the same technique the woman was doing, not allowing myself to give up just yet. I'm going to save her. I'm going to save Ladybug so she can save Paris. I'm going to save Marinette so she can keep living life to the fullest. In many ways, I'm her partner. I'll always have her back and protect her from any harm.
This may sound selfish, but I can't let her slip away now. She means too much to me.
SHE CANNOT DIE!
"Marinette, please wake up," I cry, voice choked up.
Nothing.
I stop, letting this awful reality sink in and drown me. My hands clench the top of my hair, digging into my head and duck down over Marinette's still form. The anguish within my aching chest hurts like a hive of bees is repeatedly stinging the same spot over and over again. Tears slide down my cheeks and drip from my jaw to the floor.
I sob my heart out, wishing my misery would just end. Wishing my mom is still here. Wishing my father wasn't an evil villain. Wishing Marinette is still alive.
Why does everyone leave me alone?
Why am I the embodiment of bad luck?
Is it too much to ask for some happiness in my life?
Why do I destroy everything I touch?
"Marinette..." I whimper, shakily bringing her into my arms and cradling her top half. Her body feels cold, the little warmth she has is slipping away. Going away. Leaving forever.
Suddenly, a shot of fury courses through my veins. I clench my teeth together, a growl slipping through them. A bomb is set off and my vision goes red. This is all Syren's fault. If it weren't for her powers, Marinette would still be alive. She would still be here!
I gently place Marinette down and stand up. At some point during my panic, I must of detransformed back into Adrien. I blankly hand Plagg a slice of Camembert. My Kwami looks at the cheese for a moment before looking back at me.
"Adrien..." Plagg suspiciously warns, knowing I'm about to do something stupid even beyond Tikki's repair.
"Eat it," I command, forcibly placing the cheese in his small arms, "We have an akuma to get rid of."
"Adrien, you're not thinking straight. Please, calm down for a moment and let's talk," Tikki tries to convince me, appearing in front of my face (she must have eaten some of Plagg's cheese since she doesn't look exhausted anymore). Yet, I didn't listen to her.
Once Plagg ate the Camembert (not getting much of a choice in the matter), I transform back into Chat Noir and out for blood. I'll get my revenge, one way or another.
"Tikki, stay here. I'll be right back," I tell Tikki, ominously.
I shoot off to the museum without looking back.

Third Person's P.O.V
"Do you have a pufferfish?" Syren asks the porbeagle shark. The shark shakes its head and growls, indicating a "Go Fish." Syren narrows her eyes at the marine fish in suspicion before drawing a card. A shark being a shark. How ironic.
All Syren cares for at the moment is for the heroes to show up and they all duke it out. Syren will win with her army of sharks. She'll get what she wants then give Hawkmoth his end of the bargain—those miraculous. Yet, none of the sharks or her are able to break those stupidly-solid bars! Plus, it was only Chat Noir earlier. Ladybug had yet to show her face.
Syren assumes Chat Noir went to find Ladybug and bring her here. That's when Syren will command her army to attack. The only way those two heroes will get to her is through the hordes of razor-teethed hunters of the deep. This is their territory. The sharks have an advantage in the water, including herself, unlike the land dwellers.
Once those two are taken out of the picture, no one else will be able to stop her rein upon her sea kingdom! Syren could hardly hold still just thinking about it...if only that pesky cat and bug would come already!
The bars that locked her and her army in suddenly lift open. At one of the entries floats an enraged Chat Noir, tightly holding his silver pole. The slits of his feline eyes have shrunken in thinner lines and look ready to destroy anything in his path. He snarls, showing his teeth and clenching jaw.
Just him, no Ladybug.
Syren scoffs in offense. Does Ladybug believe that Chat Noir can handle Syren all by himself? Is Ladybug referring to that Syren is weak enough to be easily handled by the blonde lackey? Syren will show Ladybug the true power of a queen!
"Attack him!" Syren commands, pointing at the black cat hero. The sharks immediately charge, projecting themselves straight at Chat Noir like a heat-sinking missile. Chat swims away to another room and disappears from the sharks' sight for a moment. The fish start sniffing out the cat hero until it is too late. The bars in that room's entryways close, locking in most of the shark army again.
Chat Noir didn't stop, returning to the art room. There are still many dangerous bull sharks lurking (and guarding Syren) in the room. If Chat Noir was in his go-happy state, he would have made a joke about all the bull crap in the room. Yet, something more menacing took over the feline hero in leather like an evil entity possessed him but more aware of his actions.
"Chat Noir?" Syren exclaimed in confusion, wondering where all her sharks went. She growled, ordering the bull sharks to attack Chat Noir. Chat Noir didn't feel like playing around, one objective tattooed to his brain.
Kill Syren.
The holder of the cat miraculous dodges the first bull shark that strikes. Chat placed his baton up defensively as the next shark attacked. It bites the silver pole, viscously gnawing on it.
The blonde does a 180 spin, causing him and the shark to flip. The bull shark goes into tonic immobility, paralyzing the beast. Chat Noir quickly made due, doing the same thing to the other bull sharks and leaving only Syren left.
Syren feels a wave of uncertainty when Chat Noir's dark gaze lands on her. The akumatized victim swims back as if trying to flee without taking her eyes off of Chat Noir.
Unfortunately, she's backed into a wall. Fear crawls up and down her spine, sending chills. A cold sensation envelopes her like someone placed truckloads of ice in the water. Her heart races and a spike of fear constricts it. It's like she is staring into the horrid eyes of death itself.
"You look the girl I love," he menacingly said, placing his weapon on his belt, "Now, it's my turn to return the favor."
"No...no, please..." Syren begs, shaking her head and crying for mercy. Chat Noir shoots straight at her.
Syren screams.
"CATACLYSM!"
