Prologue
"You are bad luck, Ritika." some of her friends said to her when she went to the garden for playing with them.
"No! I'm not bad luck." she retorted back to them.
"You are bad luck, my mom told me not to play with you. Bye and now don't come to my house." Diya her childhood friend replied and ran away from the garden.
"Even my mother told me that you are bad luck that's why your mom left you." her other friends also said and ran away from there.
Ritika was crying profusely and went to her house.
"Why are you crying princess? Did you got hurt while playing?" her father asked with concern as soon as he saw her crying.
"Dadda, Am I bad luck? None of my friends is playing with me." she spoke in a broken tone shedding huge drops of tears.
"No baby, you are my princess and princess are never bad luck." Her father was coaxing her but she kept wailing.
"No daddy, I'm bad luck that's why mom left me." she complains her father.
"No princess don't say like that you are a good girl right...and mom went because she wasn't happy here... do you want your mum to be unhappy?" he asked her trying to distract her.
She just nodded no in response and hiccupping in between because of continuous crying.
"Now you are crying means you are also unhappy... so you will also leave dadda," he said and was successful to distract her.
"No dadda, I won't leave you ever." She said wiping her tears with the back of her hands and smiling.
"But you have to leave me princess when your prince charming will come and take you away from me by marrying you just like Cinderella," he said to ease her mind but that had a different effect on her.
"I would never marry dadda never." She said and ran to her room but kept mumbling that she won't marry ever until sleep undertook her.
Ritika's mother eloped from the house with some guy and it had a great impact on her. She was just 8 years old and she even doesn't know why people were calling her bad luck and where her mom had gone.

"I hate you mom for doing this to me, you are my mom and you chose her." Satvik criticized his mother.
"Satvik listens to my dear, it was your father's last wish. Why can't you understand? He was my husband and I have to fulfil his last wish." his mother tried to make him understand but all in vain.
"Okay fine mom, I'm asking you for last time whom do you choose? That girl or me!" Satvik fumed in anger.
"No matter how many times you will ask, Satvik, my answer will be the same." His mother answered him.
"Fine! I'm leaving for London today itself and take care of your husband's so-called last wish." He spat in anger and went away.
"Satvik listens to me please..." his ears went deaf to his mother pleadings as he left for London with his maternal uncle and aunt.
Satvik was 5 years old when his father divorced his mother because of his relationship with another lady. He hated him to the core but when he was 16 years old his father and his second wife died due to an accident.
His father's last wish was to keep his daughter from the second wife with Satvik and his mother as she has no one. Satvik's mother accepted her but not Satvik.
But that incident made him hate the marriage and its traditions because people have to follow the traditions no matter the person is willing or not.
