Today was an adventure (☝︎ ՞ਊ ՞)☝︎ I went to Washington DC for a day-long Government class trip and had a blast.

It started off rocky since I had to wake up at 4:30am and hurry to the high school before 5 so I could get a seat on the top floor of a double decker bus. Thankfully I managed to nab one of the last spots right next to the stairs so I was one of the first ones who could get off. The three-hour drive to DC was one of the longest experiences of this year because I got nauseous. I'm one of those people who can't eat early in the morning because they'll get sick, and I get motion sickness easily.

I'm so happy I didn't end up getting sick on the ride there ;u;

Also, our bus driver immediately became a worshipped figure/meme? The driver's name is Rus and when he began taking off, he had us chant, "Rus drives the bus". His charisma won over everyone, and we began to declare that he could do no wrong. I think it's because he has such a cool, jazzy voice.

Anywho, the chilly 40°F air cured my nausea once my class exited the bus and headed to the Capitol Building.

(Sorry it looks blurry :p I forgot to turn off the "Live Photo" feature on my phone so I ended up gif-ing almost everything alckkqnxna)

We went inside and toured around for a good three hours. At one point we got to sit in on the House talking about coal mining, but we had to leave once they began. One Congressman brought in a giant staff for a cane??? It looked like a smoothened tree branch, to be honest.

Also, I never cared about architecture before today, but now I'm almost obsessed with it XD Here's the Capitol (mostly the Capitol's ceilings) spam—

This angle killed me lmao. Here's the "proper" angle of it—

After we left the Capitol Building, we went to the Union Station where I scarfed down my food to walk around and buy stuff. However, there was a major problem: everything in that mall is way too much. I ate quickly for nothing ;-;

Once we were finished eating and shopping, we went to view the White House. It wasn't as spectacular as I hoped it would be :/ Construction workers were on the lawn fixing/building something and making the view ugly. There were also a few protestors gathered about who did nothing but shout the entire time about DACA or Jerusalem.

I found a questionable streetlight design too, lol

The best stop was for last :3 My most favorite part of the trip was exploring the area encompassing the Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and Reflecting Pool.

2/3s of my class walked up to the Reflecting Pool and screamed "Jenny!" at the top of their lungs.

You can barely make it out, but that's the spot where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech.

The ride home was a lot quicker and wilder than the first one. People in the back of the bus began to play music on their speakers and dance in the aisle.

Oh, and remember the mighty Rus who drove my rambunctious bus? At the end of the trip before everyone got in their cars to go home, we took a selfie with him.
