Jack was flying out to L.A. for some up coming conventions, a much needed break. He loved Ireland and all but he was getting ready to rip out those green locks from all the rain and quiet, he needed a lil' busy in his life plus, he felt kinda lonely with all his friends an ocean or two away. Also, he was planning something with Mark. A few late night skype calls ago Mark talked about his plan to get two of the grumps together; Dan and Arin. At first Jack was hesitant to help him.

"Are you sure?" Jack asked, his sentence actually clear over the line for once.

"Of course! Have you seen those too? The tension between them is ridiculous on and off camera." Mark muttered.

"You're sure they like eachother, though?"

'As sure as I am about me liking you.' Mark wanted to say but decided to go for the safer and better option of a simple, yes. He DID want to set those two up but also get closer to Jack; Because those baby blues sucked him in and damn he was terrified of the ocean but the ocean in Jacks eyes sucked him in like some vacuum. He sometimes got lost in the iries and blamed it on pure connection and that he wasn't staring, it just froze. But he convinced Jack, and couldnt really sleep that night seeing as he'd be arriving soon.

;

He could barely contain himself when he met him outside the airport and broke into a damn sprint, slowing down and standing next to him awkwardly he did intend to go in for a hug but now that Jack was standing right next to him he felt shy, for maybe the first time in his life. Yet it melted away when he heard soft laughter and arms around him. He hugged back, weak at the knees and giddy. They took a peaceful walk back to Marks place, next to Jacks hotel; He wanted to offer his house but didn't, there was a lot of things Mark didn't do.

Ireland was home for Jack always would be, but L.A. was his happy place most of the time. The busy streets matching his busy mind, sunny weather elevating his mood and being surrounded by the right people helped too and he was even more hyper, meeting fans here in large amounts. It gave him a thrill. Sometimes it all felt surreal, that these people you see through a screen most of the time, the people you admire just right there; and you can actually reach out and shake their hand or hear their laughter in person. Jack was still in awe.

And here he was, standing in Marks home; discussing on how to get two of the Grumps together. Didnt get anymore surreal than that. "It'll have to be after panel? We can all go to dinner." Make them jealous and then they argue and fall in love. Easy, right?

[My dears, this is fanfiction; nothing is easy.]

After discussing plans, they did what every lets player or person whom plays video games for a living does in their free time... play video games. The pair decided to return to The Forest, a game packed full of glitches and happy memories. Jack was tranquil, like that state of happiness where everything is right and sometimes that state only lasted moments but when it was there, it was there. Jack hadn't laughed this much in a long time, glances at Mark made things better, the basically mimicked each other with goofy grins and admiration in their eyes.

Jack felt almost disappointed when he head back to his hotel at 1, feeling jet lagged and content. The goodnight with Mark and Jack was brief but Mark stalled for a moment as if he wanted to say something but then closed the door, it was probably nothing.

Jack was up when the sun was, the earliest hes been up in years and he wasnt complaining because he had coffee in front of him. He slept fairly well, he was wondering if Mark was up too, he craved company even more so and he was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the creaking of floorboards. He opened his clinically white hotel door to see a messy haired Mark trying to sneak down the hall.

"Good morning." Jack uttered, chuckling.

"Oh hey, I was just um-" Mark didnt actually have an excuse for being in Jacks hotel other than the fact he couldnt sleep and wanted to see him. Expecting a door being shut in his face, he waited for the loud bang but instead he heard a familiar accent.

"Come in then, no point lurking in the hall." And sheepishly, the raven haired man stepped into his hotel.

"I couldnt sleep."

They talked over coffee and how Jack was rather nervous for his first solo panel and how when he first came to L.A. he was awestruck and surrounded by his idols and was sharing a stage with them and it melted his heart, seeing almost stars in those baby blues he held dear. They were always so reasurring even if the words Jack spoke didnt needed any resurrance. Mark helped calm Jack's nerves, telling him he'd do great and that he has every right to be nervous, god the man always knew what to say and how to say it.

;

Yet he couldnt stop the shaking of his hands or the bouncing of his leg as he stood backstage with tons of people sitting out there for him, when he did the panels with Bob Wade and Mark he always assumed that the people sitting out there were for them and Jack was just kind of there with them but all those people standing and sitting were there for him and he felt sick. Sensing how nervous the twitchy Irishman was, he pulled him in for a hug sweeping him off his feet. "You can do this." The american rumbled into his green hair and with the final encouragement, he stepped onto the stage.

His panel went smoothly, people asking questions and cheering and even laughing. It gave him the best kind of thrill and set his nerves on fire; Jack never felt like he belonged on a stage or anywhere for that matter but today, when he was up there looking around so many different faces he felt like he did and coming backstage and getting high fives from Mark, Bob, Wade and even the Grumps made him dizzy.

A perhaps, celebratory dinner with all of them, Jacks panel went well and so did the meet and greets. Everything seemed right and it wasnt until Mark knee'd him under the table that he remembered he should be flirting with one of the grumps and it made his cheeks burn. Mark and his ridiculous plans. Apparently the two flirted very damn differently. Jack used body language and such, batting his eyelashes every now and then whilst Mark was just complete out there and even though he wasnt flirting with Jack some of the things he was saying made him blush and it wasn't until Mark pulled him aside and asked him what he was doing.

"What are you doing more like!" Jack argued. Mark just huffed and crossed his arms.

"You aren't usually like this, jesus fuck; I didnt realize you were so up front."

"Pft. Its just to make them jealous."

Dan, Arin, Bob and Wade had a good chuckle when they noticed the pair presumably arguing, their hands flaring and eyes rolling. It was pretty damn amusing.

Arin dragged Dan to the pair, holding his hand.

"Can you two just fuck already, Jesus Christ." Dans voice came, snapping the pair out of their argument.

"Well, same with you two!" Mark replied, as Jack just wanted the universe to swallow him up.

"Already happening, whats your excuse?" Arin shot back, ignoring Dans elbow in his hip.

Mark nor Jack had a witty comeback for that one because what could you even say? So they went back to dinner shyly, like a pair of schoolgirls being told off for chasing after the same boy. Yet dinner went smoothly, apart from Dan winking at Jack and Arin making rude gestures with his hands.

So they walk back to Jacks apartment was awkward, Mark kept shifting and Jack wanted to slap him.

"Stand still." Jack chuckled and he walked closer to Mark.

"Is there something on my face?" The raven haired man paused, before lips were on his. What did Wade put in his drink?

After Jack pulled away, he looked Mark dead in the eye and uttered. "Yeah, mine." And Mark would've just scowled him but instead he kissed him again because he could after all this damn time.

"I can't believe we spent hours setting two people who were already together up and then this happened."

"We set each other up." Jack chuckled, that could only happen to these two. The Universe was on their side, perhaps.
