(83) Something Money Can't Buy.
Jack felt jolly in his home, wondering around downstairs - this time of year was the best time to come out Jack thought, it was Christmas after all.
"Jack, sweetie? What are you doing?" His mother asked, watching her son pace around the kitchen. It was now or never, deep breaths. You can do this.
"I'm gay." His mother seemed to turn as cold as ice that hung on the rooftops of locals then. "I can't have you in my house if you are one of those." She spat, making Jacks stomach turn. And within hours Jacks world crumbled. "Please, Ma. don't do this. It's Christmas!" He pleaded, but his mother wasn't having any of it and threw him out along with his bags, filled with very few belongings. Tears streamed down his face as he watched the door slam infront of him. He tried texting everybody he knew, so he wouldn't be out on the streets but alas, no use.
He walked for awhile, perhaps to the other side of town before sinking down a break wall and crying. He'd now have nowhere to stay on Christmas and his parents had completely abandoned him. All because of who he is. He had better get comfortable; he thought. He was all out of luck too because too young men toward over him, with hoods up and a shadow across there face, so you weren't able to see it. Jack didn't make eye contact with them and coward slightly. He thought he was going to receive a beating that night until a red headed man had shouted at them to scramble and they did.
Mark was walking home with a coffee cup keeping his hands warm and "All I want for Christmas is you" blaring into his ears. He noticed a younger man sat shivering against the wall with two men standing above him, checking the time - He stopped in front of the man and yelled at the men towering over him and asked if he was okay . He looked up with puffy eyes and a red nose, shaking his head. Mark sat beside him, handing the man his coffee.
"Here, it'll keep you warm." The man with green hair took it carefully, as if it was a prized possession and nodded.
"Whats wrong?" Mark asked, genuinely worried for the man next to him.
"My parents kicked me out b-because I'm gay." Mark shook his head angry in his soul, "On Christmas eve?" The man nodded, sniffling and taking a sip of the coffee Mark had given him.
"I'm homeless now." The man sighed. Mark had already made up his mind what he was going to do.
"Whats your name?"
"Jack. Thank you for the coffee."
"Mark, and its okay. Do you want too stay at mine for a few days?" This shooked Jack because this man had literally just met him.
"But, you barely know me..." Jack trailed off.
"I know you don't have a place to stay, though."
"A-Are you sure?" Jack questioned, slightly weary.
Mark nodded, he was. He couldn't leave this poor abandoned man on the streets. Helping Jack up, they walked together casual chit chat flowing. Jack seemed almost timid, starring at his feet most of the time.
They arrived at Marks house and Jack walked in. The house smelled like cinnamon and was decorated nicely, a Christmas tree at the back of the room with multi coloured baubles and lights. It made Jack comfortable. A stranger had never been this nice to him before.
"Coffee? Tea?" Mark offered. Jack declined, after just finishing the coffee Mark had given him. Un sure what to do, he stood awkwardly. "Please, get comfortable. I wont bite." Mark laughed, throwing Jack a friendly smile. He sat on the couch, setting his bags down. He sighed, Jack had got lucky with a stranger offering a roof over his head. The stranger in question, handed him a controller and sat beside him.
"Best way to get to know each other I'd say." Mark smiled and Jack agreed.

Mark woke with a startle, noticing his console still on and a green haired man asleep on him. He looked around, glancing at the clock.
4:52AM. 25/14/XX
It was Christmas morning, and here he was cuddled up to a man he had offered a home too. He wasnt bothered, in fact it made him feel less lonely. Mark knew what it was like not to be accepted by anyone, back in those days he needed someone to accept him too. So he was glad that perhaps, he could be that someone for the man snoring on his chest. Yet, he didnt dare move. Instead, going back to sleep.
What felt like moments later, he was being nudged awake by the green haired man, Whom had hot chocolate in his hands and a sleepy smile on his face. Sitting up, Mark took the hot mug of coco and smiled. "Thank you. Merry Christmas." Jack nodded, "You too." They sat in almost silence, it would have been eerily quiet if it wasnt for the sipping sounds of the two drinking their hot chocolate. Mark put his mug down onto the table with a clank and turned to Jack.
"I know what it's like not to be accepted. Most of my family abandoned me when I came out too. I wasn't able to get you a proper gift; Although I can offer you something that isnt worth money, Acceptance." Mark said, shyly.
The man beside him burst into tears and Mark comforted him, apologizing frantically for making the green headed man cry.
"No ones ever been this nice too me before, that's all."

Yet, it turned out that Jack wasn't just for Christmas, but for years to come too. He'd never forget that day Mark stopped him in the streets and took him in, under his wing and offered acceptance when no one else did. He wished there were more Marks in the world.
Jack isn't just for Christmas, A Jack is for life.
