Where Is Dada?
Christmas Day-
With all of the sadness and craziness going on these last few days Jessica tried her hardest to make Christmas amazing for the twins. They deserved as much happiness as possible and so did Jessica.
It was hard for her to get through everyday knowing that Danny could pull something crazy. She just hoped it wouldn't be today.
She was so close to her due date so she wanted a stress free next few weeks for the sake of herself and the baby.
On Christmas morning Scarlett and Wyatt jumped in their cribs until Jessica finally woke up. It was only six in the morning, but Scarlett and Wyatt couldn't wait another minute.
"Chris-mas! Chris- mas!" Wyatt yells as Jessica picks him up and sets him down
"I know! Santa came!" Jessica giggles
"Santa? I want to see him!" Scarlett says looking around
"Well, Santa comes when you're asleep. You missed him. But he left lots of goodies downstairs. Wanna go wake up Grammy and papa?" Jessica smiles as she opens her bedroom door.
The twins run away like little bunnies. Albert and Dorthy had already been up and surprised them at their door.
"Merry Christmas you two! Ready to see what Santa brought?" Dorthy smiles
"Yes! Yes!" They jump up in the air and smile
They scotch down the stairs on their butts and Dorthy follows after them. Albert stays with Jessica.
"Merry Christmas, dad!" Jessica smiles giving him a hug
"Merry Christmas, Jessie... how are you doing
Today?"
"Tired... I feel like I'm going to blow." She says wobbling down the stairs
"Your little guy will be here soon." He smiles
"Yeah, I hope so. I have to be honest, I'm getting really scared. What am I going to when he gets here? Will I want Danny with me? I don't know, dad. I have a lot on my mind. But today is a big day. It's Christmas, Chase's birthday, and the whole family will be here today. I'm trying to keep my chin up."
"That's my girl. Chin up." He says
Jessica gives him a soft smile then watches Scarlett and Wyatt gazing at the beautiful Christmas tree with smiles on their faces. It warmed her heart and soon made her forget about everything bad and just focus on the present.

After opening gifts Albert made breakfast for everyone. Scarlett and Wyatt played with their new toys while Jessica tried to organize all the clothes they got.
"Sometimes I wonder why I bother getting them clothes for Christmas. I feel like that aren't even interested." Jessica says
"I think they all look so cute! Little kids are like that. It's all about the toys! When Scarlett and Wyatt are teenagers clothes will be the only thing on their list. Don't you worry." Dorthy pats her back and giggles
"Don't talk about my babies being teenagers!
I would never be able to handle that!" Jessica says covering her eyes and shaking her head
Dorthy gives Jessica and hug and smiles. "You did good. Look how happy they are."
"I hope I did. They're just the sweetest babies ever. I love them so much."
Then, Scarlett looks up to Jessica and stares at her.
"What's happening baby girl?" Jessica says walking over to her
"I want dada. Where is dada?" Scarlett says cutely
Jessica sighs "He's working... you'll see him soon." Jessica hesitates
"Why? I want dada." Wyatt cries
"Wyatt, I know you do but-"
"Dada! Get dada for chris-mas!" Scarlett whines
Then, Dorthy buds in before Jessica gets too overwhelmed.
"Scarlett, Wyatt, Santa left Christmas dinner for you in the kitchen! How about we have some festive pancakes?" Dorthy says enthusiastically
Scarlett and Wyatt quickly change thoughts and stand up to run into the kitchen.
Jessica sighs and shakes her head after they leave. "Thanks mom."
"Do you know what you're going to do?"
"I might call Zoe... they haven't seen him in months." Jessica whispers
"Whatever you think is best.."
While everyone is eating breakfast Jessica goes up to her room to call Zoe. She really didn't want to call about Danny, but something inside her kept telling her to. The twins missed Danny and he missed them. She wanted to be the bigger person and not keep her children away from Danny. It was Christmas and he deserved to see them for a little bit.
"Hello? This is Zoe." Zoe says happily
"Hey Zoe, it's Jessica. Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas!"
"How are you and the twins? I bet they're so happy today!"
"Yes, of course. Playing with their new toys." Jessica giggles
"Aww, of course. So what's up?"
"Is Danny still in town?"
Zoe pauses for a moment then clears her throat. "Yes. He's been here. Sadly went off the wagon. We're trying to get him back in line."
Jessica wasn't shocked to hear that he broke his sobriety. She felt bad but tried not to feel guilty.
"Oh, wow."
"He misses you all."
"The twins asked about him today. I want them to see him for a little, but I'm scared."
"I know, Jessie. Maybe we could pick them up with Danny and spend a few hours at my house. I know your family has a big Christmas dinner so I could bring them back before then. Scarlett and Wyatt will be in our sight the whole time. It will give Danny a chance to see the twins... I think it would be good for them." Zoe says
Jessica thinks for a moment then agrees. As hesitant as she was, it was the right thing to do. In no way she did she want to keep the kids away from their father, especially on Christmas. As long as Zoe and John we're close by, she'd be okay.
"Alright. How about twelve. Then you can have them back here at four?"
"Sounds perfect. Thank you Jessica. This will mean a lot to Danny."

Danny's POV-
Danny was in bed all day for the last three days. He refused to leave the room he was staying in. He had a bottle of jin hidden under his mattress that he would take hits at to get him by. After his encounter with Jessica all hope was lost. Christmas was even harder because he didn't think he'd be able to see his family.
Zoe walks into his room and he quickly shoves the bottle under his pillow.
"Mom, leave, please." He growls
"Daniel, get up." She says sternly turning on the lights and opening up the drapes
"What?" He says sitting up
"We are going to pick up the twins at twelve. You have two hours to clean yourself up and wrap their gifts that we bought for them downstairs. Get your ass moving. This is the moment you've been waiting for." She says
"What? Jessica's letting me see them?"
"Yes and you're lucky. Only for a few hours."
"A few hours? She won't let me spend the day with them at Dorthy's?"
"Jessica doesn't want to be near you, Danny. You know that. Especially not until your clean. But you won't be alone with them. I'll be with you the whole time. I frankly don't trust you because I know how many bottles you have shoved under that bed." Zoe says with such disappointment
"But they're my kids."
"You think Jessica and I are going to let you drive them around all fucked up? No. I'm ashamed Daniel. You were doing so well." Zoe says leaving the room and slamming the door.

"We get to see dada! Dada! Dada!" Scarlett says as Jessica buttons up her winter jacket and slides on her hat
"Yes, baby. You get to see dada."
"He come here, mama?" Wyatt says with confusion
Jessica shakes her head. "No baby."
Then, Jessica hears a knock at the door. Dorthy and Albert stay close by as Jessica opens the door.
Zoe and Danny stood at the doorstep patiently waiting.
"Dada!" Scarlett and Wyatt say running to him. He bends down and opens his arms. Holding his children in his arms again made him feel so good. He missed them so much. It was very emotional for him.
"Merry Christmas, monkeys!" Danny says with tears in his eyes
While Zoe says hello to everyone Jessica keeps her eyes on Danny and watches his body language.
Danny looks up and catches Jessica staring.
"Merry Christmas. Thank you for letting me see them. It means a lot to me. I needed this." He says to her
She doesn't say anything. She was frozen and could barely move. She felt so sick to her stomach all of a sudden. She was afraid to send her children with him. She didn't want him in her life at all. But that was wishful thinking on her part.
"Are you sober right now? I can smell the alcohol from here." Jessica snaps
"Don't do this right now. Not in front of them." He whispers
"Jessica, why don't you come inside." Dorthy whispers
"Are you?"
Danny quickly lies "I'm sober."
She rolls her eyes and bends down to kiss the twins goodbye.
Danny quickly panics "Jess, be careful." He says
Jessica rolls her eyes again and ignores him.
"I'll see you two in a little bit, okay?" She smiles
"You not coming?" Scarlett whines
"No baby. You get to spend all kinds of time with dada and open more presents. Okay?"
"Aww! You come too!" Wyatt cries
Jessica stands up with the help of her mother and wipes her tears.
"I can't, but Ill see you soon."
"I want you!" Scarlett says tugging at her pants
Jessica tries to get Scarlett off of her but she refused to let go.
"Let me take them to the car." She says picking up Scarlett and holding Wyatt's hand.
Zoe and Danny follow Jessica to the car as she straps the screaming babies into the car.
"Everything they need is in the diaper bag." She says to Zoe as she closes the car doors and tries her hardest to zone out the twins.
Zoe gives Jessica a big hug and comforts her as she tries not to let the tears fall. Jessica hated this whole situation. She hated that they twins were so sad, that her once perfect family was broken, and that she couldn't spend the whole day with them. But this was her new reality.
"They will be okay. I'll bring them back a little bit earlier. How does that sound?"
Jessica wipes her face and nods. "Okay. Thank you. If there are any problems I'll come get them."
"They'll be okay. They have me." Danny says budding in
"They haven't had you in a few months. So I won't count on that one." Jessica snaps
"Seriously, you're doing this now? You're the one keeping them from me."
"Oh yes I am. I know that you're trashed right now. You're lucky I'm letting you lay a hand on them. Merry fucking Christmas, Daniel Huston." Jessica says as she stomps away.

Danny's POV-
It had been about an hour with the twins and Danny was feeling really overwhelmed. He dreaded any minute that his mother left the room. That's how paranoid he was. He wasn't in the right state of mind to take care of these hyper babies on his own. They were a handful and he wished that Jessica was there. As bad as their relationship was and how poorly they had been treating each other Danny still missed her like hell. Seeing the twins today reminded him so much of how badly he wanted his family back. Today's visit motivated him to keep trying. No matter what.
"Christmas cookies for everyone!" Zoe says waking into the room with a tray of cookies
"Yay! Cookies!" They says
"Mom, do you think they need more cookies?" He says
"Of course! Why not?"
"They're maniacs right now!"
"They're doing just fine, son. I've been in here the whole time." John says with confusion
"You think? Seriously?"
"You're paranoid, Daniel. Try to snap out of it and enjoy your time with them." Zoe says
"Dada, share?" Wyatt says bringing a sugar cookie up to him
"No thanks, buddy."
Wyatt became so sad. He began to pout. John quickly called him over.
"Come here little man, grandpa will share." He says breaking the cookie
Danny sighs with distress. Zoe walks over to talk with him.
"Danny, this is suppose to be good for you. Scarlett and Wyatt should be pushing you to stay sober. Look at them and how precious they are. You will always have them, Daniel. Please, do this for them." Zoe says
Danny shakes his head "it's hard, mom. Her not being here is hard. All I can think about is not being with them all together. This baby is due any day and I will probably miss that too."
"You won't miss it if you prove to her that you are the best father out there. And you are. You need to get back on track. Find a meeting and go."
"Dada, look at my toy!" Scarlett says with happiness. She adored her father... reuniting with him had her over the moon excited.
"Wow! Is that a Barbie?"
"Yes! A prin... prin...." she stops, trying to say the right word
"Princess, a Princess. Just like you, daddy's little princess!"
"Yes! Yes!"

Jessica's POV-
She anxiously waited by the front door for Danny and Zoe to drop off the twins. Everyone was already at Dorthy's celebrating. She just really wanted them there. She hated being away from them for so long. Once she had them in her arms she'd feel more at ease. The whole time they were gone she was so anxious and scared. She wanted to call to see how things where but never did.
"Jessie, don't worry, they'll be home soon." Ann says coming up behind her
"Yeah, I know... but... I miss them. It's Christmas and I want to be with my babies." She cries
"And you will be! I bet they'll pull in at any minute. It's been a while since he's seen them. Give him some time."
Jessica sighs. She was filled with so much frustration and was very sensitive. She felt as if everyone was on Danny's side, but that wasn't the case what so ever. She just wanted her children with her, not with him.
"They're here." She says running outside
As Jessica reaches the car Zoe and Danny hop out to get them out of the car. When they see Jessica they go crazy, ignoring Danny. It hurt him more then he thought it would.
"Mama! Mama!" Scarlett and Wyatt say hugging her legs.
"I babies! Did you get all kinds of goodies?"
"Yes they did! Here it all is!" Zoe says opening the truck
"Oh boy! Where is it all going to go?" Jessica says
"Home!" Wyatt says
"Ahhh, yes!" Jessica giggles
"So you don't have to take this all up, let me carry these bags inside and take the twins with me so they don't freeze!" Zoe says, trying to give Jessica and Danny a moment alone
"Yes, that's great. Thanks mom."
Danny gives Scarlett and Wyatt a hug and kiss goodbye. They follow Zoe into the house. It was just Danny and Jessica. It was extremely uncomfortable.
"How are you? Feeling okay?"
"Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant." She mutters
"Jess, I'm sorry. I'm really trying."
"Danny, I don't want apologies. I'm glad that the kids got to see you today." She says
"I appreciate it a lot. I missed them. But they're a handful. I don't know how you do it."
"I have lots of help here. I'm happy here." She says
Danny sighs "Don't you miss our home?"
Jessica pauses then shakes her head. "I'm happy here."
"When can I see them again? And you too?" He asks desperately
"I don't know. After the holidays it will be all baby. We'll see. You obviously are drinking again. I don't know if I'll feel comfortable with them being in your hands." She crosses her arms and stares at him sternly
"This is bullshit. They're my kids. You know I can take you to court."
"And you'd lose. I'm not the alcoholic."
Then Danny stops. He knew arguing wouldn't but him on Jessica's good side. She was obviously moody and frustrated.
"I want to be there when he's born. That's all I ask." He asks
Jessica knew she'd have to face this too. "I don't know. Good night, Daniel."
"Jessica, please" He cries
"I don't know! Please, stop." She cries as she walks as fast as she can away from him.
At this moment Danny felt defeated. He had no clue what to do next.
