"So Danny is living at home again? How long has he been at home for?"

Jessica nods happily "Yes, he's been home for about a week now. It's really good having him back. Our relationship still has a little bit of work, but we are taking it one day at a time."

"You seem a lot happier, Jessica. You've changed, and made lots of progress this last month. Your visits are really paying off."

"Thank you... I feel relieved that things are falling into place. Me working on myself has really done a lot."

The therapist smiles and closes her book. "It's up to you if you'd like to continue your visits."

Jessica takes a moment to think. "I'd like to, maybe not as frequently. Therapy has really helped me, I don't want to stop yet."

"I agree, Jessica."

"Now it's just time to tackle my family." Jessica sighs

"Is everything okay?"

"Ever since I ran off I haven't spoken to my sisters or friend Sarah. Just my parents, but our chats are always quick."

"How come you haven't spoken to them?"

Jessica looks down at the ground and closes her eyes. "I'm embarrassed... i guess I'm not ready to face them or talk to them. These last three months have been a roller coaster from hell."

"I say give them a call, I bet them miss you."

"I miss them too..."

Now that Danny was back at the apartment the couple was able to really focus on themselves. During the work week Jessica and Danny made it their priority to spend alone time together. At home with the twins was always hectic and it was hard to talk. But during their lunch break they'd spend that time away from work together.

Jessica and Danny decided to walk around the park on a sunny afternoon. It was just the two of them, holding hands, enjoying each other's company.

"Want to sit?" Danny says taking a quick glimpse at his girlfriends face. Jessica seemed tired.

"Yeah, that would be great." She says sitting down on a bench next to Danny.

She rests her head on his arm and sighs.

"You seem tired." He says

"I am... I don't know what's wrong with me."

"Well Scarlett waking up every hour these last few days probably isn't helping."

Jessica chuckles "My little girl... somethings up with her too."

"I bet she's just fine."

It was quite for a moment. Jessica broke away from Danny and looked into his eyes.

"Have you talked to your family back home ever since the whole situation?"

"Well, Yeah. Why?"

Jessica shrugs her shoulders and sighs. "I haven't."

"I didn't know that." He says

Danny was shocked to hear that Jessica wasn't talking to her family. She went on to tell him how she felt, how she was embarrassed, and how Dorthy and Albert were the only ones who at contact with her. Ann, Jane, and Sarah gave up on trying to get ahold of her.

"Jess, you should call them... I bet they miss you."

"I miss them too... I'm just nervous now. I've been holding it off for so long."

Danny leans in and kisses her forehead. "Don't be nervous, Alright? They are your family."

"I've never gone this long without talking to them. It feels weird."

"I bet it does."

"Life has been going so great over tHe last week. Everything is slowly getting better. But this whole thing with not talking to them is in a way holding be back." Jessica says

"Don't let it hold you back. I'm telling you, just call. It will make you feel happier. It's not like you got in a fight..."

A couple days later Jessica was in her office tossing her phone in her hand back and forth. She had been debating whether or not she should call her sisters. She wanted to start with Ann... she was nervous as hell, but it had to be done. She missed them.

Jessica decided to dial her number right away.

......

Not even seconds after dialing her number and it goes straight to voicemail. Ann always answers her phone. Jessica felt so distraught when she didn't answer.

"Hey, this is Ann. Sorry I can't get to the phone. I'll call you when I can!"

Jessica didn't leave a voicemail. She just hung up and decided to call Jane.

Janes POV-

"She's calling me now!" Jane says as she pulls her ringing phone out of her purse.

Ann rolls her eyes. "Ignore it. She did that to us!"

"But Ann, shouldn't we at least tell her how we feel?"

Before Ann couldn't answer Jane's question, she answers the call.

"Hello?" Jane says in a snarky tone

"Jane, it's Jessica."

"I know" she hisses

Jessica could immediately sense the anger in janes voice.

"I tried calling Ann, but it went straight to voice mail. Is she around?"

"I know you called. She's with me."

"Oh... alright. Could you put me on speaker?"

Jane puts Jessica on speaker. Jessica's heart begins to race. She had never been so nervous to talk to her sisters.

"I'm sorry... for everything. Leaving the way I did, worrying you, ignoring your calls, everything. You guys didn't deserve any of that."

"We tried calling so many times." Ann says

Jessica sighs "I know... I just wasn't ready to talk.."

"Well, we aren't ready to talk to you." Jane says sternly then hangs up the phone

"I can't believe her!" Jane hisses

"What ever happened to Jessica?" Ann says

That night Jessica came home to the twins playing with their toys and Danny making dinner.

"Wow, it smells good in here."
Jessica says walking into tHe kitchen and sliding off her heels.

Danny walks over to her, wraps his arms around her body, and kisses her.

"I decided to cook tonight."

Jessica smiles

"Mama!" Scarlett and Wyatt scream as they come running Into the kitchen to greet Jessica.

She sits down on the floor and hugs them.

"Hi my babies!" Jessica smiles

"Miss you!" Scarlett says kissing her mother's cheeks.

"aww thank you, baby!"

"Kiss kiss!"  Wyatt says puckering his lips.

"Of course, I always have to kiss my handsome little man!" Jessica smiles

"Scarlett, Wyatt, do you want pasta for dinner?" Danny says setting up their plates

"Yes!" They exclaim

They run to Danny and he sets them up in their high chairs.

"Our chicken parm will be ready in just a bit, babe!" Danny says as he hands the twins their bowls.

"Thank you." She smiles

Jessica sits down next to twins and sighs.

"How was your day?" He asks

" I called my sisters."

"Oh... how did that go?"

"Terrible! They were so angry! I mean they have a right to be. But Jane just hung up on me. What do I do?"

"Give them time?"

"They are stubborn! Giving them time could mean weeks!"

"That's not true." He says

She leans back in the chair and covers her face.

"Is okay mama!" Wyatt says

Jessica leans back up and giggles.

"Yeah!" Danny says

Jessica smiles "You're right little guy, it's okay. As long as I have my crew with me!"

Danny hugs her tightly and Scarlett and Wyatt smile happily.

Jessica smiles along with them, but deep down inside she felt terrible. Her sisters were her best friends. She felt like she dug such a deep whole with them. They had the right to be upset at Jessica for not calling. But Jessica just wanted everything to be alright again.

1.) I have mono! Idk how but I do so I've been soo exhausted and out of school.

2.) I've had no inspiration!

I have an idea where I'm going with this story, but not my others! Ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know I ask all the time but please, bare with me here! 😂❤️
