A week later-

"I know you hate it baby, but we have to keep it on!" Jessica sighs as Scarlett fights to leave her protective helmet on.

She throws a loud tantrum, kicking and screaming.

"Scarlett, baby, please. Look, it's pretty... it has flowers and it's pink!" Jessica chokes up as she's on the verge of tears.

"No, go!" Scarlett screams

Danny comes into the twins bedroom after he hears Scarlett's loud screams. Wyatt tumbles in after him and watches.

By time Danny reaches Jessica tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Jess, hey it's okay..." Danny says as he tries to calm both Jessica and Scarlett down.

Jessica shoves him away and throws the helmet onto the floor.

"No, it's not okay, Danny!" Jessica storms out of the bedroom and goes into her room slamming the door. The slam echoes throughout the house and Scarlett screams even louder.

"Shhhh, it's okay... come on, let's go rest." Danny says walking out of the nursery.

Danny settled Scarlett and Wyatt onto the couch with some snacks and put on a movie. He hoped it would hold them over so he could check on Jessica.

They had been home for a week and things were hectic. Jessica hadn't slept or been to work since Danny's birthday. She had been so worried and paranoid about Scarlett that she forgot about everything else around her. At night she checked on her constantly. It soon turned into Scarlett sleeping with Danny and Jessica to ease her mind. But it just made things worse. Every move Scarlett made scared Jessica.

The doctors and Scarlett's daycare said she could go back after being seizure free for fourteen days. Each time she had a seizure they had to start over. So far, her last seizure was at the hospital and the medicine was working. Scarlett was doing fine for now. She was on a special diet and was taking all her medicine. But Jessica wasn't doing well. Danny wasn't either. their minds were a mess.

Danny walks into the room and sits next to Jessica on the bed and she sobs softly.

"I get that things are hard right now..."

"She won't wear the helmet! She won't wear the damn helmet!" She raises her voice

Jessica falls onto Danny and he holds her.

"You haven't slept in days Jessica, you need sleep."

"I've been feeling so sick... how can I sleep? My stomach is in knots I'm so scared for her."

"But she's been seizure free for a week. The medicine, it's working. Maybe she'll never have another."

"Don't say that Danny, we don't know."

Danny sighs "Listen, you need to rest. I'll keep an eye on them while you nap. Clear your head..."

Jessica slowly lays down on the bed and closes her eyes. "This is a nightmare. I want it to be over."

Danny takes The hair off her face and kisses her cheek.

Right as Jessica closes her eyes they hear a loud piercing scream coming from the living room. Wyatt was screaming for Jessica and Danny.

"Mommy! Dada!" He yells

Jessica and Danny run to the living room and see Scarlett on the floor seizing.

"Danny!" Jessica cries as she picks up Wyatt and moves away from Scarlett.

Danny and Jessica were informed with what to do when Scarlett seizes. They had to take actions into their own hands.

Danny quickly moves everything away from her and places a wide square of pillows around her.

He gets on the floor and waits until it's over. This one wasn't as bad, but when it was over Scarlett was confused and disoriented. That was to be expected.

"Thanks Wyatt" Danny says with a sigh of relief

Wyatt digs his head into Jessica's chest and cries softly.

Jessica goes down to the ground and soothes Scarlett who was very scared now.

Jessica and Danny felt defeated. Now, fourteen days had to start over.

"Wyatt, thank you for calling mommy and daddy" Jessica says

"Sissy okay?"

"She'll be okay, baby."

"Hospital?" He says

"No, we can't take her to the hospital. This is just going to happen sometimes." Danny sighs

Jessica and Danny look at each other and back at their daughter. They felt beyond upset for her.

About an hour later Scarlett was in her crib resting. As much as Jessica and Danny wanted to take her to the hospital there was not point in going every time. All they had to do was inform her doctor and that was it.

A while later Scarlett was doing just fine. Her helmet was on and she was playing with Wyatt.

"Mama!" Scarlett calls as Jessica slowly doses off on the couch.

"Yes? What? Is everything okay?" She says looking around

"Wook!" Scarlett says holding up her building blocks

"Wow, did you build a house?"

"Yeah!" She smiles

Jessica was amazed how quickly Scarlett bounced back after her seizures. She was such a happy little girl. Jessica didn't want this to be her daughters life. Thinking about this only made Jessica even more upset.

"Me too!" Wyatt says holding up his block creation.

"Wow, amazing!" Jessica giggles

"Sad?" Scarlett says pointing to Jessica's tears.

Jessica gets down on the floor and holds her children in her arms.

"No, I'm not sad baby."

That night after the twins were in bed Jessica was in the kitchen sitting at the table. It was late and Jessica wasn't able to sleep.

When Danny noticed Jessica wasn't in bed he got up and went in search for her.

"Jess, it's two in the morning. Come back to bed, babe." He says

"I can't sleep, Danny."

Danny sighs and sits next to her.

"You have to try... you're going to make yourself sick." He says

"Danny, I can't. Don't you think I've tried? All I think about is Scarlett... I was reading that she can stop breathing after a seizure. If she has more bad ones she can go unconscious." Jessica slowly begins to cry again.

"What do you want to do then?"

"Danny, I don't want to leave her side... I don't know what to do." She whispers

"What if we called our parents and asked them for help?"

"No, I can't. How would they help? No one can do anything."

"Why not? More eyes... maybe they can help out. Besides, the twins birthday is coming up so they could stay in town for that. They haven't seen them in months."

"Please, no."

"Are things still not okay with your family?"

Jessica rolls her eyes. "things are fine with my parents, but it will just be uncomfortable. I'm embarrassed with myself, still."

"Don't be... they are family."

"It's fine... I can do this myself. I'll just stop working for a while."

Danny wasn't able to take off anymore work. And since Scarlett couldn't go to school Jessica wanted to stay with her. He was still worried something would go wrong when he wasn't there. He wanted Jessica to have help. Their parents were his first thought.

"Jess-"

"No Danny. I'll just be more overwhelmed. Now, just go back to bed." She hisses

"What are you going to do?"

"Check on Scarlett." She says standing up

Danny grabs her wrist and stops her. "Let me." He whispers

Jessica bows her head and nods. "Okay..."

"I'm worried about you, Jess."

"Don't be, I'll be okay."

But really, Jessica wasn't okay. She was more than not okay...
