Sunday//

It was just a few minutes until Danny's taxi would arrive. Jessica woke up early to get ready for her big work day, prepare for her family to come, and say goodbye to Danny.

Jessica was exhausted and hadn't slept at all that night. Her body felt more off than usual but she kept it to herself.

"How do you feel today?" Danny puts his hands on Jessica's side and smiles.

"Stop worrying about me. I'll see you later tonight, right?"

"Yes, I'll be home late so don't wait up for me. You'll be tired."

"With how much they've been at it, I doubt I'll be asleep."

*beep*

"That's your taxi." Jessica sighs

"I will text you when I take off and land, okay?"

"Good luck, I love you!"

"I love you too!"

**
10 am-

After Danny left Jessica cleaned up as much as she could for her parents. Once she was done cleaning she decided to take a shower before she met Mary at the Miller's home.

Jessica made slow movements in the shower. Her body was tense.

As Jessica reached for her shampoo she got a tight pain in her stomach. It startled her. She released a loud hiss and supported her back.

"Not today, kiddos. I know you want to come and I know you love mommy. If you really love mommy you'll stop right now so I can get through this day."

After Jessica's shower she got dressed and headed out the door to see Mary.

Jessica experienced a few more tight pains but she pushed through them.

By time she got to the Miller's she was a mess. Her body hurt so bad and the pressure she had was undiscribably painful.

"Jessica, there you are! The painters are on there way, so let's walk around and go over some last touches!"

Jessica nods, bitting her lip as another sharp pain shot through her body.

Jessica was half tempted to not come and go to the doctors, but this was her first big job and lots of her ideas were being used. She wanted to be there, it was important.

"It's nice to see you Jessica, we love your ideas so much and can't wait for the end results." Mrs. Miller says shaking Jessica's hand.

"Thank you, I'm excited." She nods squinting her eyes.

She walks away and Mary comes up to Jessica.

"Jessica, you don't look good. Are you okay?" Mary says holding Jessica.

"It's just a rough day, I need time to walk around. I'll be fine." Jessica says

"Are you in labor?"

"What? No!" Jessica giggles

"I'm keeping an eye on you, you're only five days from your due date."

The pains continued at spread out increments. Jessica started to feel like the babies might be coming but Jessica tried to just go on with her day.

All she wanted to do was go home and scream every time she got a contraction.

"Jessica, you're ideas are such a big hit! The millers are so pleased." Mary says

"Thank -" Jessica let's out a moan and holds onto Mary's ark as she hunches over.

Mary looks at the floor which was wet and widens her eyes. She holds onto Jessica and gasps.

"What?" Jessica says looking up at Mary then down at the wet spot.

"Jessica! You're water- you're water broke!"

Jessica breathed heavily and gasps. Tears quickly fell down her face and she began to panic shaking her head back and fourth.

"No! No, no, no!" Jessica cries

"Jessica we have to get you to a hospital, your babies are coming!" Mary smiles picking up her purse.

The Millers run over to Mary and Jessica to see what's going on.

"Is everything okay?" She asks

"She's in labor! I have to get her to a hospital."

"No, I'm not in labor. I can't be, Danny isn't home."

"Yes you are Jessica." Mary says

Mary called an ambulance. She didn't want to risk anything in a taxi and knew that she could get Jessica to a hospital quicker by ambulance.

Jessica kept trying to call Danny but there wasn't an answer.

"Mary, today was a big day and I ruined it. I'm so sorry." Jessica says as they paramedics put her on the stretcher.

"Don't apologize Jessica. It's okay, this is a big day!" Mary holds onto her hand.

"Can I have my phone, I need to call my mom and Danny. Maybe he'll answer! He might be in a meeting, oh my gosh what if he misses it!"

"He won't miss it Jessica, just breath."

The paramedics keep track of Jessica's contracts and quickly headed to the hospital.

"Mom?" Jessica says in a shaky tone.

"Jessica, are you crying? We just landed."

"My water broke!"

"Oh my- you're in labor? Which hospital are you going to? We are on our way!"

"New York Presbyterian. Mom I'm so scared."

"Jessica take deep breaths."

"Danny isn't answering! What do I do?"

"You focus on yourself and the babies. Your father and I will try to get ahold of Danny."

On there way over Jessica was so nervous. Her body was in pain but she couldn't help but think about getting ahold of Danny.

11:30-

When they got to the hospital Jessica was put in a room and got situated. Her contractions became more and more painful. Mary was with her the whole time helping her through it.

"Well Jessica, it's official! You're in labor! You are three centimeters dilated. So you have a while." Doctor Petrella says putting Jessica's legs down.

Jessica throws her head back and cries.

Jessica couldn't help but stop crying. Danny and wasn't answering any of her calls which put her in panic mode.

"What if he misses this? I can't have him miss this! I won't have them until he comes!

Did you hear that, stay in there you two! If you love me you'll stay in a bit longer."

"He won't miss it Jessica. Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Yes, please help me out of bed. I need to stand up."

Mary nods and helps Jessica out of bed. Jessica holds onto the bed and sways her hips back and forth.

"I didn't think it would be today. Not today, why today!"

"Your babies are ready to meet you!"

"Thank you for being here."

Another contraction comes and Jessica screams loudly. Mary helps her through it.

Jessica's parents come running in with their luggage.

"Jessie!" Dorthy exclaims

Jessica was in the middle of a contraction.

"Hi, I'm Mary. Danny's aunt." Mary says

"Hi, this is my husband Albert and I'm Dorthy. We are Jessica's parents." They introduce themselves and Jessica groans.

"I need drugs! I can't take this anymore- AHH!"

"Just breath Jessica." Dorthy rubs her back.

"Did you hear from Danny? Did he answer?" Jessica picks up her head and clenches her teeth.

"No, I'm sorry Jessica. We've tried multiple times." Albert says

"That fucking ass! He has to be here so I can punch him!"

Dorthy and Mary couldn't help but chuckle. Albert, he was a bit scared to see Jessica the way she was.

Danny's POV// 12pm-

"That meeting went great, don't you think?" Danny's boss says patting him on the back as they walk out of the conference room.

"Heh, thanks. I was a bit nervous."

"Mr. Huston!" A man yells

"Yes?" Danny turns around

"We'd love to take you out for lunch, is that alright? We can talk a bit more before we make our final decision."

"Yes, I'd love too." Danny nods.

Danny and his boss go to a restaurant. Danny hadn't thought to check his phone.

As they were at the lunch table all of the men sitting there were sharing pictures off their phones.

Danny decided to pull out his phone. When he turned it on he saw multiple missed calls and text from Dorthy, Albert, Mary, and Jessica.

Danny began to freak out when he saw all of the missed calls.

"Shit!" Danny says quickly standing up.

"Is everything okay, danny?" Frank says

"I'm sorry, you just excuse me for a moment. My girlfriend, she's pregnant." Danny sits up and runs away to call Dorthy.

"We understand, get back soon!"

Jessica's POV-

Jessica was in her room on a labor ball. There was still no call from Danny.

*phone rings*

"It's Danny!" Dorthy says

Jessica clenches her teeth and stares down Dorthy's phone.

"Give it to me!" Jessica says loudly.

"Dorthy? What's going on? Is Jessica okay?"

"You asshole!" Jessica exclaims

"Jessica? Honey are you okay?"

"No! I have babies making their way out of me! I'm in labor!"

"What! Oh my god! Jessica I'll be there as soon as I can. I'll get frank to fly me out."

"Danny, if your not here I'll be so pissed at you! I'm not doing this without you!"

"I'll be there. I promise, I'm sorry I'm not there now. Who are you with?"

"My mom and dad. Mary went to the apartment to get my bags. Danny I'm scared, it hurts!"

"I'm sorry baby, just stay on the phone with me. Jessica we are meeting our babies!"

"I want you, I need you! I can't meet them without you."

"I know, I know. I'm leaving now."

"Danny wait-"

"Yes baby?"

"Did you get the job?"

"How could you think about that right now?"

"I need to get my mind off this pain. Did you or did you not? If you didn't I swear to god I'll be mad at those assholes that had you fly out there."

"I don't know yet. Jessica I have to go get a plane."

"Danny, I love you."

"I love you too, baby. Just keep them in a bit longer. I promise I'll be there for every push."

Danny's POV-

Danny felt so bad and so nervous for not being there. he quickly went back to the table with sweat running down his face.

"I'm sorry guys, but I must go. I need to get back home." Danny looks at frank.

"She's in labor?" He says standing up

"Yes! Can you fly me out there?"

"Of course."

Jessica's POV-

Jessica's contractions got stronger and stronger. As she waited for the epidural she leaned over on the side of the bed. A nurse had a large blanket underneath Jessica's stomach that she held in the air. The point of it was to hold Jessica's hips together. Dorthy put pressure on Jessica's back as Albert comforted her.

"Thank you, dad." Jessica says breathlessly

"You're doing great Jessica, I love you." He says sternly holding onto her hand.

"You've done so much for me and taught me so much." Jessica whimpers as another sharp pain arrives.

"You're going to be a great mother. These babies are lucky to have you. I can't wait to see you raise them and watch them become just like you. An amazing, smart, kind, loving, intelligent human being."

Jessica started to cry. She bit her lip and rested her head on her fathers arm.

1:45 pm-

Danny still hadn't arrived yet. Jessica got more and more nervous. She had gotten and epidural which helped Jessica a lot. The epidural slowed down her contractions which put her at ease just by a bit.

Jessica last herd from Danny at 1:30. He was just getting on the company plane and it would be an hour or two before he got there.

Mary dropped off Jessica's things and waited with Dorthy, Jessica, and Albert until Danny arrived.

"How do you feel? Loopy?" Dorthy asks handing Jessica ice chips.

"Very, but it feels good. I can't feel anything. I mean look, I'm having a contraction right now. I guess I'm making this easier on everyone!"Jessica points to the monitor and smiles.

With the epidural Jessica was a lot more awake and alert.

Suddenly Jessica cried surprising everyone.

"Jessie?" Dorthy walks over to her and holds her hand.

"I need Danny here so bad. I appreciate you all coming, but I need him. I miss him."

"I know Jessica, but he will be here soon. It's only an hour flight." Albert reassures her

"He's their father! My babies can't come into this world without seeing me and their daddy. What if he isn't here to cut the cord and see them during there first moments of life."

"Jessica he will be here! I know it. Don't worry, okay?" Mary says

Jessica nods and holds her stomach.

"Nine months ago, I never thought I'd be here. I didn't think I'd be a mother. Now it's all sinking in. I'm going to be a mother... of two! And it's only in a matter of hours. I'll be cradling them in my arms. Feeding them, loving them, and caring for them."

"That's the beauty of motherhood."
