November-

As each day got closer to the holidays and the wedding, everything seemed to be very chaotic. Jessica and Danny were trying to get a lot of the wedding planning done before thanksgiving and Christmas arrived so they could enjoy the holidays with family and not be distracted. It was hard to quickly plan when they were swimming in work. Not only was work a lot to take on for them at the moment, but they weren't home as much. Jessica was always on the run with work and Danny always had late meetings. When they were home on the weekends and after work during the week  the twins were being an extra handful. They were always getting into new things and pushing buttons. It was to be expected at their age, but it was overwhelming for the young parents.

Thankfully for Jessica and Danny, after a long work week it was finally the weekend. On a Friday, Danny was first to get home while Jessica was held up at work.

He had a long and stressful day. He couldn't wait to get home and have a relaxing night.

When he got home he had his briefcase in one hand and in the other a few bags of groceries.

Immediately when he walked in he heard constant screaming. The house was a disaster. Toys were everywhere. He took a few steps and heard a crunching sound. Cereal was everywhere.

He looked around trying to find the babysitter.

"Katie? Hello? It's Danny!" He says

Then, he sees Wyatt running out of the bathroom, butt naked, with marker all over him.

"Dada!" He says

Danny sets down everything in his hands and picks up Wyatt. He holds his body in the air, away from him.

"Buddy, what happened to you? Where is Katie?"

Then, Katie runs out of the bathroom. Before Danny could say hello and ask what was going on, Katie grabs her jacket and keys. She was soaked in water. She looked like a mess  and very distraught.

"Katie, what happened?" Danny says

"Your kids, happened! I'm sorry Mr. Huston, but I quit! I can't handle them! They behave so badly and don't listen. Especially Wyatt. Your son got ahold of markers and went to town today. I've tried so hard to just suck it up, because they are little. But now, no way. Apologize to Ms. Lange, I'm done!" She says with anger as she heads for the door.

Danny panics and chases after her. "Wait! Katie!"

Before he could catch her she was out the door. He looks around the apartment. It looked like a tornado had went through.

He sighs and runs his hands through his hair. Jessica and Danny had depended on Katie a lot lately and she was their only sitter. She was the only one that the kids liked and now she was gone. Danny didn't have time to be upset. After looking around he knew he had a lot to take care of.

Danny then hears Scarlett screaming from the nursery so he runs to her.

When he enters the nursery she as well as the walls were covered in marker.

"Oh my god!" He says in distress

He picks up Scarlett who was hysterical.

"Dada!" She cries loudly

"Shhh, it's okay baby girl!" He says

"Color, Dada!" Wyatt says showing Danny his masterpiece on the painted walls.

"No, Wyatt! We do not color on the walls!" Danny yells

Wyatt's happy face quickly disappears and He then begins to cry.

"You're in time out, Wyatt!" He says

"No!" Wyatt yells

"What did you say?" Danny raises his voice

"No, Dada!" He stomps his foot.

"I've had enough, Wyatt!" Danny rushes to Wyatt and hits him on the Behind. Danny and Jessica never hit the twins, so when Wyatt was hit he was horrified.

"Time out, now!" He yells pointing to their time out spot.

Scarlett cries as Danny yells. Danny felt like he was going crazy.

While Wyatt screams loudly from the nursery Danny closes the door and takes Scarlett into the bathroom for a bath. The water was already running.

Danny set her in the bath and gave her toys.

"Honey, play with your toys while Dada cleans up your mess!" Danny says

Scarlett didn't say a word. She just grabbed her toy duckies and started to play.

Danny left her and Wyatt alone and took on the kitchen and living room.

It was a disaster. Danny was frightened to take on this huge mess that Katie had left for him.

"I thought we paid her well, too." He says to himself as he gets down on his knees and cleans up the little pieces of cereal.

An hour and a half had passed. Jessica was late. Wyatt was still screaming his lungs off in the nursery while Scarlett stayed content in the bath tub.

An hour wasn't enough time for Danny to even finish the kitchen.

Just around six thirty Jessica arrived home. She stayed out a little later to have dinner with a friend. She herself was exhausted and not prepared for what she was about to walk into.

Right as the door opened Jessica heard her baby boy screaming.

She dropped everything and ran into the apartment. Her heart sunk when she saw the mess and Danny scrubbing the floor.

"Oh my god, Danny! What happened!" Jessica says as she runs to the nursery

"Where have you been?" He says following her. He was so angry that she came home so late.

"Oh my god! Baby boy! What did you do?" Jessica says as she enters the nursery to see Wyatt, covered in marker and sitting in front of the wall with marker on it.

His body was trembling and he was on fire. He had worked himself up so much and Danny had left him alone all this time.

Wyatt cries in Jessica's arms and she comforts him.

"Danny! What is going on!" Jessica yells

"Katie quit! Wyatt made such a mess. Both of them were misbehaving. He was in time out!" Danny rambles. He was too angry to go into detail.

Jessica widens her eyes and looks around for Scarlett.

"Where is the other one?" Jessica asks looking around

"In the tub."

Jessica runs to the bathroom. There was Scarlett, playing with her duckies.

"Oh, baby girl. You're all shriveled up!" With her free hand Jessica picks her up and takes her out of the tub.

"Danny, you have explaining to do."

"Me? What about you? Where have you been?" He snaps

"Maybe why you left our son in the nursery sobbing and the other alone in the tub!" She says holding both babies on her hips.

"Dada hit!" Wyatt cries

Then, Danny's heart started to race. He didn't want Jessica to know that he hit Wyatt. He knew she'd be angry.

"What baby?"

"Hit!" He says pointing to his butt.

Jessica was furious. She looks to Danny and gives him a death stare.

"Jessica, did you see what he did! Katie said that he was being bad. He was talking back. I gave him a swat."

"You What?" She says

"Jess- if you were there-"

"He is a year old! He doesn't know any better, Daniel! How could you hit him! We said we wouldn't do that."

"Damn it. I can't believe you!" Jessica says

Danny was so furious he couldn't say a word.

"Get our and leave me alone!" She says pointing for him to leave the bathroom.

Danny steps out and she slams the bathroom door.

"Thank god you finally remembered that you have children and showed up. Maybe if you were home this wouldn't have happened!" Danny says walking back to the kitchen.

When Jessica heard that remark she quickly swung the door back open.

"Excuse me?" She yells

"You heard me. Just go back to what you were going to do and I'll clean."

"Fuck you" She says going back into the bathroom and slamming the door.
