After Jessica had saw Danny she felt a little bit happier. Knowing that he wanted to see her soon made her so happy. Throughout the week she was in a such better mood and very smiley.

It was a month and a week since her and Sam broke up. He called once in a while to figure out bills and to separate accounts. Jessica kept thinking about moving out of the apartment. It had too many memories.

Christmas break was coming up, Jessica was going to go stay at her parents house for the holidays.

"Jessica, you are so happy lately. I mean it's good, but I feel like you would've been sad." Sarah says

"I am just in a good mood. Break is officially here and the new year is coming.

Oh and Danny wants to get together sometime."

"Oh Jessica! That's great!" She smiles

"Yea, I guess. He texted me and told him to give him a good time. He wanted to talk. But I just can't wait to spend these few weeks with family. You and your family are stopping by for Christmas Eve dinner right?" Jessica asks

"Of course we are! I can't wait!"

A couple days later Jessica drove to her parents.

"Look who's home. Dorky Jess." George says

"Nice to see you too bud." Jessica laughs tapping the top of his head.

"Hey big sis." He hugs her

"Jessie! It's been forever!" Ann says wobbling into the living room.

"Ann, look at you!" Jessica touches her big belly.

"I know! Any day now." Ann laughs.

"I can't believe I am going to be an aunt!"

Jessica walks into the kitchen.

"Hey mom, Dad, Jane."

"There's my girl!" Al says giving Jessica a hug.

"Hey daddy."

"We are so happy to see you Jessica." Dorthy says with a smile.

"I'm happy to see you all too! Even though I only live about 40 minutes away."

"Having you home is still great. Your sisters and brothers are always here. Why don't you visit more often?" Al says

"I am sorry! School is just so busy right now."

"Listen, we have gotten to a point in our relationship were we can be honest. So I will be honest. Have you gained weight?" George says

Jessica's face becomes red. "What? No! Why does it look like it?"

"George! Be nice."

"Sorry, but look at her mom."

"Wow, thanks."

"Maybe Jessie's pregnant. You have a glow to you." Ann says wobbling back in. Dorthy pulls out a chair for her and Ann sits down.

"Pregnant? Please. I am not pregnant. And there is no such thing as pregnancy glow." Jessica bluffs.

"I don't know Jessica, you look different." Jane says

"I sure do love coming home! Boy did I miss getting bullied." Jessica chuckles.

"We love you baby." Dorthy gives her a hug.

Jessica laid in her room and called Sarah.

"Hey Jess, what's up?"

"Have I gained weight?"

"What? No! Why?"

"You're lying. Be honest."

"Jessica, come on."

"Answer me!"

"I mean everyone gains a few pounds after a breakup. You're fine."

"Ugh! I am getting fat!"

"Jessica, I just ran into Danny. Guess what!"

"What?"

"His parents went on a cruise so he is all alone for Christmas."

"Aww. Maybe I should call him."

"You should!"

"Okay, I will give him a call."

"Oh and Jessica, you aren't fat."

"Okay Sarah! Just drop it."

The next day Jessica, her mother, and her sisters went out to eat.

"Ann, you are going to eat the whole table?" Jane says watching her stuff her face.

"Shut the hell up. Not unless Jessica does."

"You guys are so rude! I am going through a breakup okay. It's normal."

"That's enough girls, my goodness." Dorthy says shaking her head.

"Are you excited to meet your baby boy Ann?" Jessica says

"I am ready for him to come out. I haven't had any sleep. I am going to be overdue if this baby doesn't come before Christmas."

"Uh oh. Christmas is in 3 days." Jane says

"That's why we aren't having a Christmas party this year, just a Xmas eve party."

"Jessica, I have a question for you." Ann says rubbing her belly.

"What?"

"Will you be in the room with me and Jack?"

"You want me in the room?"

"Please?"

"Wow Ann thanks, I thought I was the favorite sister." Jane says

"Cool it Jane."

"What do you say Jess?"

"I mean, yea I would love to." Jessica smiles

"Thank you jessie. Thanks a million!"

After lunch they all drove back to the house. Jessica sat on the couch with Ann and her husband watching cupcake wars. Jessica suddenly got a text.

D- "Hey. What's up?"

J- "Nothing much. Hbu?"

D- "Besides missing you, not much. I wanna see you."

J- "I want to see you too. I miss you."

D- "Are you back home or at the apartment?"

J- "Back home. But they won't miss me. How about we meet half way. I could meet you at that bakery off the road from the turnpike."

D- "I love how we think the same. See you in 30?"

J- "See you in 30."

"Hey Ann, I am gonna go out for a bit. When mom gets home can you tell her I will be home around 6."

"Sure. Where are you going?"

"That bakery off the turnpike to meet someone. I will be back soon."

"Ohhh who?" Jack says

"Just a friend. I will see you guys later." Jessica walks upstairs to go get ready. Ann stands up and slowly follows her.

Jessica was changing into a push up bra and nice shirt when Ann wobbled in.

"Liar." She says swinging the door open.

"Ann! What the hell are you doing?"

"You are going on a date. I saw you texting someone." Ann plops herself in Jessica's bed.

"No, it's just Sarah."

"Sarah lives 5 minutes away. Why would you meet her halfway? Who is "D"?"

"No one!"

"I was going to ask you to be my baby's god mother, but I don't want her to be a liar." Ann crosses her arms.

Jessica rolls her eyes and let's out a huff. "Damn you Ann." Jessica slides on her shirt and walks over to Ann.

"It's a guy I like. We have known each other for a while. This is the first time in a long time that I get to see him."

"Jessica!" Ann covers her mouth.

"Don't tell anyone okay?"

"Yea okay. But is he the reason... the reason you and Sam-"

"Ugh I hate thinking of it that way."

"Did you guys have sex?"

Jessica bites her lip and looks down. Jessica finally gave in and told Ann everything. Her and Ann were always super close and she knew she could always trust her.

"I feel like such a slut."

"You aren't Jessie. That's what happened with Michael and I. I left him for Jack. And now look at me, happily married and having a baby. True love works in many ways. If you really love him go for it."

"You think?"

"I know you loved Sam and it was a crazy 7 years, but people change and you changed. It's good that you are trying new things."

"I just want to see him today because his family is out of town for the holidays and he's all alone."

"Invite him Christmas Eve and Day! Jessie come on! You can do it 'as friends' when you invite him."

"I kinda want to but I feel bad asking mom. Every year Sam was always here for Christmas. What if they just want a year without Jessica's boyfriend."

"Here, you go out with him. While you are gone I will ask mom. If she says yes I can text you while you are out there and you can invite him in person.

As long as you bring me 3 cupcakes."

Jessica chuckles. "Okay I will."

Jessica walks over to her suitcase and tries to find some pants.

"Damn it! My favorite jeans don't fit."

"What do you mean?"

"I really am gaining weight!"
