She was nothing but a liability to him, but he couldn't leave her to die, now could he?

I didn't think about the fact that after my shower, I wouldn't have any clothing to change into. I had scrubbed myself thoroughly, even found some shampoo to wash away the dirt in my greasy hair, found some hydrating cream to make my skin shine smoothly, but no clothes. Just a few towels, white as the clouds – and just as fluffy – but all they did was dry me and cover up my lady parts.
It wasn't that comfortable, walking around the room with nothing but a towel on my hair and a towel around my body, as the window was left open and the cool air of the late autumn kissed my skin and gave me goose bumps. I shivered and debated if I should dive down in the bed again and just lay down underneath the covers until a sweet maid brought me something to wear.
No.
It was tempting, yes, but I had enough of pointlessly lazing around. Even if I had nothing to wear, I would go exploring. First I chose to find out whatever it was that was in all the closets in this room.
Right away after I opened the first drawer in the room, I wished I had thought of this an hour earlier. I saw shirts, shorts, jeans, dresses, skirts, suits, everything you could think of; it was here. I silently thanked the original owner of this room – whoever that might have been – for all these choices I could now make to impress my man. Well, maybe once upon a time he would be my man. If only I could choose the right combinations.
Loving everything I could, naturally I had a great thing for fashion. I enjoyed watching shows, following the newest trends and I even made my own dress once. Not that that was a success actually, but it was still worth mentioning.
In the end, I settled for a pair of blue, striped trousers that made my butt look good, and a white blouse. I braided my hair sideways and hoped that I looked good enough to impress Aericon.
I could only say his name while whispering, secretly afraid he wouldn't like me calling him by his first name instead of by his title, as was appropriate. After I put on the heels I wore underneath the dress that now laid all on its own in a pathetic hump on the bathroom floor. There were no shoes of my size in the room, I figured after I opened every single door, drawer or chest. If the alpha put me in a room on my own without him to keep me company, he couldn't expect me to touch nothing at all right? Exactly. He definitely could not.
Feeling all classy on my heels and fashionable clothing, I walked through the hallways with my head held high. The castle was horrendously huge. No matter how many hallways I entered, how many corners I turned, how many stairs I walked up or down, I never got to a room that even closely looked like a kitchen. Or even a place where there were people.
Slowly but surely my chin that I once held up high, started to point downwards more and more, as I realised that I was hopelessly lost in this gigantic mansion. My feet had started to hurt a while ago, my stomach rumbled loudly and after all these days refusing to eat anything, I finally started feeling faint.
In the end, I just decided to knock on a door that looked quite fancy. I had no clue where in the castle I was, but I did feel jittery and my heart fluttered slightly, although that might have been a side effect of my starvation.
"Come in," I heard a dark, deep voice tell me. My heart fluttered again, and now I was certain that it wasn't because of the lack of nutrition. It was him. This was my chance! I had to impress him now, show him my love for my mate and maybe he would follow my example.
I carefully pushed the door open, although it took more strength than I had expected on beforehand. Instinctively I realised that it shouldn't be this hard to open a freaking door, even if it was a damn heavy one. As I stepped inside the room, the smell of his manly scent knocked the breath out of my lungs. Even though I had almost forgotten what he smelled like – I mean, it is not as if I smelled him thoroughly when we met in that brief moment – I instantly felt like home. It made me crave for more, and after I shut the door, I leant on it with all my weight, breathing heavily.
What was wrong with me? Why did this affect me this much? It couldn't be just because of the lack of food of the past few days right? A werewolf should be able to live on full strength without food for a couple of days.
"What are you doing here?" His voice resonated icily throughout the room, and made my insides swoon pathetically, it caused shivers of pleasure to go through my spine. It was too much. What was going on with me?
"I asked you a question." He still sounded cold, but this time, a bit of worry shone through. This wasn't right! I had to seduce him, I had to show him the love I had for him! How the hell could I do that if I couldn't even manage to stand up straight?
I reached for a loose strand of hair that escaped from the others to fall in front of my eyes and annoy me. Just that simple movement exhausted me.
I felt fine an hour ago, but the moment I got closer to him, my mate, I felt worse and worse, the exact opposite of what I should be feeling.
"Are-are you alright?" The big bad alpha stuttered. He actually stuttered! My heart started beating more frequently, happy that he cared. For me, it only resulted in a fiery blush on my cheeks, and an even more dizzy feeling in my head.
I couldn't stay up straight, no matter how hard I tried. As my breathing turned more shallow, my feet started to slip. Within no time, I was falling to the ground quickly.
Except I never hit it, but I didn't have the time nor the conscience to wonder why, as directly after that, I blacked out.
