Jacob's p.o.v.

Tonight's the night. Tonight they announce the selected. I'm sweating in my suit. Me and Ethan had the chance to look at the girls. Dad called us into his office after lunch yesterday. At first I thought i was the only one called but i was soon met by Ethan outside his office. We knocked and were called in. There, dad was leaning back in his big chair. He had been waiting for us. He's the perfect king. Smart, kind and handsome. How we are expected to be anything like him is a mystery to both of us.

"Hello dad," Ethan says

"Hello"

There was a pause where no one spoke. It seemed that he was waiting for us to speak. I think we both knew it. Although neither of us knew what to say.

"You called us here because..." I said waiting for an answer."

"The selected girls shall be announced tomorrow and your mother and I would like to know if you boys would like to see the selected. Neither of us have seen them mind you. It's your life after all."

We share a glance then i turn back to dad.

"Or, of course you two could get the files after the report and look over them then..." He says

"I think I speak for both of us when i say that we will see them when everyone else sees them. I'm pretty sure we will be too nervous to actually look at the girls anyway. Can we get the files after the report?"

"Of course."

He turns around. We take that as a dismissal. We start walking. Before we leave i call over my shoulder,

"You should know that i will be telling mom that you used shall. You know she has worked so very hard to knock it out of you!"

We all laugh.

I look at the clock. It's time to make my way down to the studio. The royal family lives on the third floor of the palace. The selected will be on the second, amd the studio and servants in the basement, and the first floor includes the dining room, cigar room and women's room.

As I'm walking Ethan catches me and we walk together in silence. But i can tell that he's thinking about the report.

We get down there five minutes earlier then usual. My mom is talking to one of the producer people. They are looking at a clipboard. We walk over.

"Boo!" We say in unison

Both my mom and the producer jump

"Oh you two!" She says shaking her finger and laughing. She is in a lovely ball gown. Off the shoulder sleeves with a light blue satin skirt. I only know that because of Lilia's short lived fashion obsession. Heck, she even designed her own fashion line at age 11.

Suddenly Silven and yet another producer jog up to us to tell us we are ready to start. Silven took over from gavril about 15 years ago. I barely remember him. He's about 55 now. A ripe, old age.

I sit in my seat next to Ethan. Lilia is on my other side with Mom and Dad above us. No one knows this but they hold hands during the report. I hope to find someone i can love that much. The anthem starts playing and my posture straightens. Silven talks to us for about five minutes. I barely pay attention. I'm too nervous

Before i know it, they are ready to announce the selected. Right before, Silven turns to Mom and asks

"Any wise words for the selected, my Queen?"

She turns to the camera and speaks in a calming voice

"This is old advice that I was given from amberly but its good. Be yourself. My sons will love you. Also, please remember this. Being eliminated is not the end. You are all beautiful women who we believe have the possibility of becoming the next princess and Queen.

Then they began, i look just above the screen. My hands shake
