Chapter Eight

Dark fell over, allowing for Sean to break free and grab the emerald. However, Mark got up just in time and ran toward him, shoving him away from the necklace. Sean stumbled and fell onto the sofa, Dark did not want to take any chances, especially with Sean being in the way, if he could destroy the emerald then everything that it's captured would be destroyed with it, he just couldn't touch the necklace unless he wanted to be expelled out of his host's body.

"You know what I love about myself, Sean?" Dark said as he approached his enemy. "That you haven't figured out my name yet," he continued. "And your beginning to tick me off, Mark no longer exists, my name is Dark, and this is where your story ends." Dark reached over to grab his blade that sat on his desk and approached Sean who was still recovering from crashing into the sofa. Sean got up and fought back. He swung his hand and attempted to punch Dark, but he had the upper hand. Dark grabbed Sean's wrist and twisted it behind his back, then pushed his enemy against the wall. "Why do you have to fight?"

"Because you have to be dealt with." Sean groaned in pain, struggling to get free.

"You and I have different opinions about that." Dark forced Sean to look at him and kicked him in the stomach with his knee. Sean coughed and doubled over. "Most people would listen to their presidents, but you aren't one of them."

"Not after what I've witnessed, and everything I've learned from your brother!" Sean said through breaths. Dark kicked Sean in the head, knocking him onto his back.

"My brother is nothing but a worthless bitch." Dark exclaimed.

"He tried to protect you!" Sean yelled back. Dark simply laughed. He'd hadn't spoken to his brother until recently and even then he didn't want to do anything to help him.

"Protect me? He never protected me!" Dark growled, grabbing Sean by the shirt and forcing him to his feet.

"Why would you do something like this?" Sean asked, determined to understand Dark's anger and resentment. Dark punched Sean in the face, blood came out from his nose and Sean struggled to figure out what to do next.

"I wanted power," another kick to the stomach. "The power to control everyone and their minds." Letting go of his shirt, Dark stepped away with an evil laugh. "While you were out playing the hero, I hired top scientists to build me a laser," Dark explained. "I will control everyone's minds and not just in the city; pretty soon every single person will listen to me and any rebellion. I will squash it like a bug!"

Sean glared at Darkiplier. He was mentally and physically exhausted but when Sean glanced at the door; he saw Amy enter the room. She winked at him, confused. Sean wondered what her plan was until he saw her look at the necklace, then at Dark.

"Mark?" Amy said. Dark paused and turned to find Amy standing in the middle of the room.

"Amy, have you finally made your decision?" Dark asked, Sean gagged, ready to throw up in case something disgusting would happen next.

"I have," she said. "I'll marry you." Dark's eyes lit up, and a smirk appeared. While he was distracted, Sean took this as a chance to grab the emerald. He stood and snuck up behind Dark, clearing his throat.

"Dark?" he said. Confused, Dark turned and growled, seeing that Sean had gotten his hands on the emerald. With full force, Sean launched himself at Dark trying to place the necklace around his neck, but Dark avoided it and fought back for as long as he could, Sean fought back twice as hard not giving in to Dark's powers and placed it around his neck. Dark stumbled and groaned. "That's what you get, you lying son of a bitch!" Dark yelled, but the emerald already glowed brightly, like it was trying to change everything around. Dark's chest was in pain and he struggled to get upright.
