Chapter 40
Third POV
It was a peaceful summer night. The crickets were chirping, the wind was blowing lightly, and two lovebirds were standing by a lake, with their hands clasped together.
"You really think so?" Sasha asked, "Of course. I've told you a million times." Bayley replied assuring Sasha what she said is true. Sasha chuckled, "I still don't think that I'm the most beautiful girl in the world."
Bayley put her arm around Sasha, "Well you are to me. And you also got to remember that I've been around the world so I think I would know."
She smiled and looked at Bayley, "You're so sweet, you know that?"
Bayley smiled and kissed Sasha , "I know."
They stayed like that for awhile, Sasha being wrapped in Bayley's arms. They watched fish in the lake swim along. It had been about three years since they had first started dating. About two weeks after Bayley was better she had asked Sasha out, and from then on, they were always together, not wanting to be separated. Bayley smiled. She loved her. She loved her more than anything else. She loved everything and anything about her. Bayley then started thinking about the ring that was in her pocket, the ring that Triple H gave to Stephanie and passed it to Bayley who is now going to give to Sasha tonight. Bayley started to get nervous. What if she was so nervous that she made a complete fool of herself? Or worse, what if she said no? No. She wouldn't think like that. She would say yes, Bayley was sure of it.
Sasha looked up at Bayley who was staring off into the distance, obviously thinking about something. "Whatcha thinking about, Bayley?"
Bayley looked down at her and smiled, "Don't worry. It's nothing."
"Are you sure?" She could tell that Bayley was lying, but she didn't want to push Bayley into telling her something that she didn't want to tell her.
"Yeah. Like I said, don't worry." Bayley said in a reassuring voice.
"Well, alright."
Maybe she could propose some other night? No, it's now or never. If she couldn't work up the courage to do it tonight, then she was sure that she would never be able to. Maybe if she could just say one word, then the rest would just come out.
Bayley took a deep breath and said, "Sasha?"
She looked up at Bayley, "Yeah?"
Bayley took both of Sasha's hands in hers, causing her to face Bayley.
"I love you, Sasha. You're the first person that I ever loved. You were my first girlfriend, my first kiss, and... well my first everything that had to do with relationships. You're nice, smart, courageous, strong, and like I said before, you're the most beautiful girl in the universe."
Sasha blushed and smiled.
"Every morning, when I wake up, all I can think about is you. And every night I think about how much I wish you were beside me, so I could hold you in my arms and keep you safe at night." Bayley smiled, "Sasha, you're my future. You're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with." Bayley got down on one knee, and pulled out a little black box, "With that being said, will you marry me?" Bayley opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
Videls eyes widened recognizing the ring that was inside the tiny black box, it was the ring that belonged to her mother. The only way Bayley would've gotten that ring was by Bayley asking her dad permission in her hand of marriage. Sasha couldn't believe that Bayley was proposing to her? Ever since she and Bayley began dating Sasha had always dreamt of Bayley proposing, and them spending the rest of their lives together. And now, it was actually happening.
Bayley continued to look up at Sasha hoping she'll say yes.
Sasha smiled as tears started to form in her eyes, "Yes, I will."
Bayley smiled and slid the ring onto Sasha's finger.
Sasha wrapped her arms around Bayley neck, and kissed her, "I love you so much."
Bayley wiped away a few of Sasha's tears with her thumb, "I love you too."
