Chapter 23

Zor-El was amazed as his nephew brought him to the Fortress of Solitude up in the Arctic, since while he loved his daughter and looked forward to seeing the life she'd made for herself on Earth, first, he wanted to see a small remnant of his former home, since it had been so long since he'd seen any trace of Krypton and he wanted to see it before he returned to Earth, since he had no idea if Argo City had managed to survive after all this time, since at the time his research regarding the substance that he intended power the city, Harun-El, had been far from complete when he'd been forced to repurpose it to protect Argo City.

"It's breathtaking isn't it." Clark said, pulling his uncle out of his thoughts.

"Yes it is. Thank you for bringing me here." Zor-El said as he looked around.

"There's no way you could come to Earth and not come here. Though Kara is still mad that you didn't give her a fortress of her own." Clark said with a smile as Zor-El chuckled.

"She'd have to take that up with your father if he was still alive, since he's the one who created the Fortress and refused to share the plans with me, probably because he knew I would improve them and give my daughter something better than he was giving you." Zor-El said with a chuckle as he looked up at the statue Kal-El had erected of his father.

"It was more because I feared you'd pervert it, since you clearly showed no hesitation in performing morally questionable experiments. For example, the Medusa virus." a new voice said and the two turned to see a hologram of Jor-El standing there.

"Brother." Zor-El said, wishing that he was talking to his actual brother and not just a recording.

"Hello Zor-El. How are you even alive?" the Jor-El AI asked.

"I sent myself into the Phantom Zone in a last ditch effort to save my life, after repurposing my unfinished research to create a shield that hopefully protected Argo City from Krypton's destruction. Remember, we only sent our children away to Earth because we didn't know for sure if the shield would work." Zor-El said.

"Of course. But how did you escape?" Jor-El asked.

"Fort Rozz crashed on Earth around the same time Kara arrived as you know and one of the prisoners was Astra's former husband Non. He sent her into the Phantom Zone as payback for doing the same to him. However, Kara managed to find Zor-El in the Zone and we brought them home." Clark said and Jor-El actually smiled.

"That is good to hear. I am very happy to see you, my brother." Jor-El said.

"And I you. Though I would prefer the real you." Zor-El said, though he knew there was a good chance that this was the closest he'd ever get to seeing his brother again.

"That's enough." Clark said, deciding to shut down the AI, though he was curious.

"Do you know if there's any chance that my parents might still be alive on Argo?" Clark asked his uncle.

"Honestly Kal, I don't know. I don't remember much about that day, but it is possible." Zor-El said.

"I hope so." Clark said as Zor-El placed his hand on his nephew's shoulder.

"Kara told me about your Earth parents. I'm so sorry for your losses and I wish I could've met them, since our family owes them the same debt we owe the Danvers family for taking Kara in." Zor-El said as Clark remembered another person they still needed to find.

"That reminds me. Kelex." Clark said as the android hovered over to them.

"Greetings Master Kal. And Lord Zor-El, this is an unexpected development." the android said.

"Long story, but anyways, Kelex, have you had any luck locating Jeremiah Danvers?" Clark asked.

"Kara's foster father?" Zor-El asked.

"He went missing about a year after his family took her in. We thought he was dead, but recently, we've discovered he was actually abducted by anti alien terrorist group called Cadmus. Kara and Alex have been searching for him ever since and I promised I would help, since Jeremiah and his wife Eliza, who practically raised Kara single handedly, originally helped me learn to understand and control my powers, which is one of the reasons why I left Kara with them in the first place. I knew they could help her understand how to control her powers and also give her a normal life until she was ready to be a hero like me." Clark explained and Zor-El nodded.

"Then we have to find him." Zor-El said, since saving Jeremiah would be one way he could repay the Danvers family for taking care of his daughter all of these years.

"First we need to find him." Clark said.

"And I believe I have." Kelex said, causing both men to look at the android.

"Where?" Clark asked.

"After accessing every surveillance and scanning satellite in orbit over this planet, I have located Jeremiah Danvers in the Peruvian Andes." Kelex said.

"That's around the same area that he originally met J'onn and was presumed missing. That can't be a coincidence." Clark said.

"Do you think it's some kind of trap?" Zor-El asked.

"I don't know, but now that I finally know where Jeremiah is, I'm bringing him home." Clark said.

"I'm going with you." Zor-El said.

"No you're not." Clark said immediately.

"Kal-El, I need to do this. In a way, it's my fault he's in this situation in the first place, since he was protecting my daughter." Zor-El said.

"And your daughter is one of the only people on this planet I am genuinely scared of and she would kill me if I you go into a potentially dangerous situation when you're still learning to control your powers. Kara just got you back and I don't want to risk her losing you again, especially when it's a situation that could lead to her hating Jeremiah for causing her to lose you to save him. Please, just stay here or go back to National City, but do not follow me." Clark said and Zor-El sighed, but nodded, since he knew that his nephew was right.

"Okay and I'm assuming you don't want me to tell Kara about this?" Zor-El asked and Clark shook his head.

"No, I want it to be a surprise. But in the meantime, I will drop you off in Midvale so you can meet Kara's foster mom Eliza." Clark offered and Zor-El smiled at his nephew gratefully.

"I'm guessing I'll be the one bringing her back to National City for the party." Zor-El asked, since he was well aware of the party that was being planned for his daughter's homecoming.

"Yep. Now, let's go." Clark said as he and Zor-El flew out of the Fortress.

After he dropped Zor-El off in Midvale (that meeting will happen in the next chapter of Supergirl, I promise), Superman immediately flew towards the Peruvian Andes, since it was time that the Danvers family was completely reunited.

When he arrived, he got as close to the coordinates Kelex had given him before finding a place to land and change into Clark Kent covertly, since he needed to avoid attracting attention to keep Jeremiah from fleeing before found him, but Clark had to admit, if Jeremiah was trying to hide out, he'd found a good place to do it, since this village was really out of the way. However, while he had his eyes and ears on high alert, it was chaotic enough to cause some interference, so instead, he decided to just ask someone.

"Hola, ¿puede decirme dónde puedo encontrar a un hombre llamado Jeremiah Danvers? (Hello, can you tell me where I can find a man named Jeremiah Danvers?)" Clark asked one of the locals.

"Sí, trabaja en una clínica local ayudando tanto a humanos como a extraterrestres que no tienen adónde ir. (Yes, he works at a local clinic helping both humans and aliens who have nowhere else to go.)" the local said.

"Gracias, ¿puede decirme dónde está esta clínica? (Thank you, can you tell me where this clinic is?)" Clark asked and the local man nodded as he gave Clark directions.

Jeremiah Danvers had just finished his shift at the clinic when he heard a voice he did not think he'd ever hear again.

"I have to admit, this is the last place I would've thought to look for you." Clark Kent said with a smile as he approached his old friend.

"Clark, how did you find me?" Jeremiah asked.

"I never stopped looking for you. I recognized Cadmus's work in your disappearance." Clark said.

"So, you gonna arrest me?" Jeremiah asked and Clark was wondering why he'd think that.

"No, of course not. I'm here to bring you home. Your daughters need you, especially since you have a granddaughter too. Kara's a mom now. She adopted a little girl just like how you basically adopted her." Clark said.

"Clark if I go back there, Cadmus." Jeremiah said.

"Cadmus will go after your family regardless since Kara is Supergirl and Alex works for the DEO. But instead of running and staying away, you can come home and help them and the DEO prepare to fight Cadmus, since you were inside their operations, you know how they work, which means you know how to beat them. You can do more to keep your family safe by coming home. Especially since you have a lot of other people to meet. Including my own kids and most importantly, Kara's birth father, my uncle Zor-El, since he's alive, long story that I'll tell you later, but he's here on Earth and I actually dropped him off in Midvale to meet Eliza." Clark said.

"You really think that they'll all just forgive me for abandoning them?" Jeremiah asked.

"You did what you thought you had to do in order to protect them, they'll understand that. But Jeremiah, you've been running long enough. It's time to come home." Clark said and Jeremiah smiled.

"Let me grab a few things from my apartment here and then I'll let you take me back to the states." Jeremiah said and Clark smiled as the two hugged.

I know this might have seemed more like a Supergirl chapter, but I felt it was necessary, though I will admit that I did not initially plan on the Jeremiah stuff happening, but I got the idea and I think it worked well. I hope you guys like it. This will be continued in the next chapter of Supergirl.
