Anarkra' s Cottage

Sorry for the short chapter and not posting for a while but here you go.🍫

I swam onto the path, where Anarkra was waiting for me. " Have you said your goodbyes?" She asked. I nodded and we set off for her cottage. I don't know how long we swam for, it seemed like an eternity, but by the time we got there I was looking forward to sleep. I felt like asking questions but was too intimidated by the powerful woman who was to be my mentor. As it turned out, I'd soon be learning more than enough about Sea Witches to satisfy my curiosity.

Anarkra's cottage was a beautiful building made of peach coloure d coral with a gorgeous, well cared for and exotic garden. It made my parents' half cave hewn house look like a hovel." Look girl, I didn't want an apprentice, but if you're going to be here, for your home economics class you can start off by doing the house work."She said" What I do can be extremely dangerous, so I need your word to always listen and do as I say." She continued and looked to me for an answer.I nodded. "Well? Say it girl!" Anarkra demanded.

" I give my word."I swore.

" Good. Now don't go to bed any later than ten. Goodnight Miara." She said in a softer tone. She swam to the back of the cottage where I assume her room was located.

"Night." I replied.

I drifted into the garden, not yet ready for sleep, and sat down on a bench. My orca swam towards me with a questioning look in his eyes."Do you want something? " I asked him.He swam a loop the loop."What could he want?" I thought to muself and then it came to me."A name ?! " He swam another loop. I can't believe I had forgotten to name him! Damn it, names are so hard to do. The only thing I'd ever named before was my plush fish toy. I called it fishy, which goes a long way to show my naming skills. Good thing I'd never have to name a child."I'm gonna call you Teylin." I told him when I finally settled on a name. "Not too shabby." I thought to myself. Not the best name in the world, but it is better than Fishy.

I sat there for a bit when he went up for air, lost in my thoughts . Teylin came back and startled me by nudging my arm with a playful glint in his eye. I straightened myself out and he nudged me again. That time I got the hint. "Do you want to play?" I asked. Teylin sidled up to me, as if he wanted me to take hold of his dorsal fin. The moment I took it, he raced off at top speed and did a loop the loop.

We spent the next half an hour roaring around and having little races, until I got tired. At last, the massive day I had had caught up to me and I felt a wave of exhaustion."Goodnight Teylin." I said before swimming back into the cottage and collapsing on my bed.
