Thoughts:

This is not a review I was asked to do - in fact it's the first review in this book in which I was not asked to do a thing. However, this is a book I wanted to review, so that's what I'm going to do.

VAPI is a fucking weird book. Let's get that out of the way. This book is weird, and absolutely absurd, and full of a lot of fucked-up instances and characters that I can't help but either laugh at or cringe at painfully.

This book was also very, very good. More than very good. VAPI is phenomenal. Downright incredible. I want Swan to make an audiobook copy of this masterpiece just for me. This book also does a lot of things I fucking hate.... but they work here so well. Pictures in the middle of narration? Swan made it work. Lists? Swan made it work. Lyrics? To be honest, I really didn't like that bit [it's towards the end]. Swan, consider taking the lyrics out. Please. Absurdism? This entire book is crazier than a Salvador Dali painting, and I love it. You know the last episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion? This book felt like that.

You will not like this book if you don't like absurdities. You will not like this book if you don't like mindfucks. You will not like this book if you don't like at times obscene descriptions of body functions [Pepto Bismo vomit, I'm looking at you]. You will not like this book if you don't find seemingly-naive, orange-obsessed alien men endearing. You will not like this book if you don't like feeling like you took an entire sheet of acid while reading. You will not like this book if you do not like fourth-wall breaking. This is one book that breaks the fourth wall so damn well it almost makes me angry. You will not like this book if you don't like vapid, going-nowhere no-lifes for characters. 

But you know what, this book has all of these things. And it works. And I love it.

This book is my favorite book on Wattpad, and in general I think it's fallen into my top five of favorite books in the world, too. I really, very strongly implore people to read this book. It's a book worth reading.
