Kaden undid the ropes, and I stood up.

  "Thank-" I started, before a wave of dizziness hit me, "Hoo boy..."

   I sat back down, my vision darkening.

  "Deep breaths, focus Lizzie." Kaden said sitting next to me.

   I took deep breaths, focusing on Kaden's eyes. I hadn't noticed the exact shade of blue his eyes were. They were a sort of cobalt color. I resisted her.

   You're going to regret this, Lizzie Dear. Scar hissed, then she disappeared. Hopefully for a while.

   I released a breath I didn't know I'd been holding.

  "You did it!" Kaden cried, "You kept her from taking over!"

  He gave me a hug, then pulled back almost immediately.

   "Sorry, that was weird," he said, "feel free to hit me."

  "Nah, you're helping me control a murderer." I said, "I think that makes a hug ok."

   "That's good, cause I wasn't looking forward to having a big bruise tomorrow." He said.

   He paused, then said, "you know, in celebration of this new achievement, why don't we go out and get smoothies?"

  "Smoothies, huh?" I asked, "It has been a while since I had Smoothie King."

  "Then you're in luck! There's an Smoothie King really close by." Kaden said, "My treat."

   "Are you...asking me on a date?" I asked.

   "Maybe." He shrugged.

   I'm shattering my own rules.. Part of me said, the part of me that had always kept me safe, and shy, and single, since I didn't know any guys well enough to go on a date with them.

   "Well, ok." I said, "but I'll tell you what I tell the guys my friend dates. Try anything immoral, an I'll rain fiery death and destruction down upon you!"

  He laughed.

   "Got it. Nothing immoral, just talking." He assured me, "aand maybe some hugging?"

   "Kaden, I barely know you!" I pointed out.

  "Ok ok, just talking then." Kaden agreed, "let's go!"
