Chapter one
Silver sat in his Pre Calculus class, finished with his work as usual. He spent the hour staring at the clock, tuning out the annoying group of people just a few desks away from him.
He was the unluckiest guy in the world, being stuck in a class with Gold and some his idiotic friends- Hilda, Blue, and Lyra. Of course, those were only a few of the many people who seemed to hover about the golden boy.
"Hey loser" A voice addressed, snapping Silver from his thoughts.
"What, Leaf?" Silver muttered, glancing over at his friend.
"You should give me your answers" The brunette suggested, wiggling her eyebrows.
Silver smirked, "You want a loser's answers?" He asked.
"When that loser is the only kid with an A in the class? Yeah. Yeah I do"
Silver snickered and passed Leaf his worksheet full of answers, "Knock yourself out"
Leaf snatched the worksheet and began scribbling down answers, her brown eyes scrolling across the paper.
"Hey Leaf!" A sudden voice exclaimed, coming from the loud, obnoxious group of people.
Leaf groaned and her eyes darted up to the owner of the voice, who was standing in front of her desk, "Yes Blue?" She hissed.
"How's Red?" He asked, "Is he still mad cause I had to cancel last night?"
Leaf scrunched up her nose in disgust, "That's not your business"
Blue thought about it for a few seconds, "Yes it is..."
Gold suddenly appeared next to Blue, "Dude you're so fucking whipped!" He laughed.
"I'm not whipped!" Blue argued, color rising to his face.
Hilda and Lyra came up next to the boys, "At least Blue has someone who loves him" Hilda teased, poking Gold's chest.
Gold rolled his golden colored eyes, "Please woman, I've got girls lined up to love me" he bragged, winking. Hilda scoffed and rolled her eyes at the boy's arrogance.
Silver caught Lyra staring at his worksheet, "Can I help you?" He asked.
Lyra flinched, as if realizing she was staring, "Oh yeah...I was just..." she mustered, turning Silver's paper so it was facing her.
"How did you do this?" She asked finally, seemingly dumbfounded.
Silver raised an eyebrow, "It's easy if you know what you're doing" he said, slight confusion in his voice.
Lyra's eyes darkened as she muttered an, "Oh".
Her friends didn't seem to notice her shift in tone, but she became her usual bubbly self in a second, "Well thanks anyway!" She chirped, her sleek brown pigtails bouncing.
Silver eyed the girl suspiciously as the bell rang and she exited the room, Hilda and Gold at her heels. Blue stuck around and asked questions about Red- Why he was mad, if he was mad, and what Blue could do to fix it.
Leaf answered his questions with a classy, "Fuck off" and bounded out of the room to her next class.
Unfortunately, Blue and Silver shared their next class, so Silver got an earful as they walked to the classroom.
"Come on Silver!" Blue begged, "I need to know if he's mad at me!"
Silver blew a stray strand of red hair from his face, "Then why don't you ask him?" He said as they strolled into the classroom.
The boy of Blue's affection was sitting in the back of the room, sitting with Lyra, politely listening to whatever she was talking about.
"You're in my seat" Silver growled, walking up to the table Lyra was sitting at. Blue followed at Silver's heels, hoping to get a chance with Red.
"Actually..." Lyra said, getting up, "You're sitting with me today" she said, strolling back to her table in the front of the room.
"What?" Silver wondered aloud.
"Blue is sitting with me today" Red said quietly.
Blue's eyes lit up, "Really?!"
The glare Red sent Blue shut down his excitement.
"I mean...whatever I guess..." Blue mumbled, quickly taking the seat next to Red.
Silver jabbed a finger in Lyra's direction, "You're gonna make me sit with her?" He hissed.
Red shrugged like What are ya gonna do?
The bell rang for class to start.
"Fine. But you owe me for the brain cells I'm about to lose" the red head snapped, going to the front of the room and reluctantly sitting next to Lyra.
"Sorry" The brunette apologized immediately, "I just figured they needed to work things out"
"Whatever. Just don't talk to me"
Lyra put her hands up in surrender and turned her attention to the teacher, who was going over the assignments for the day.

"So did you and lover boy make up?" Leaf asked Red as she bit into a sandwich.
Silver, Leaf, and Red sat in the back of the cafeteria, waiting for their two other friends to join them for lunch.
Red simply shrugged and took a sip of his water.
"Great. Descriptive" Leaf said with annoyance, "I heard you had to sit with Lyra" she continued, redirecting the subject to Silver.
"Yeah. She was so annoying" Silver confirmed.
"Did she even speak?" Red asked.
"No"
"Then how was she annoying?"
"Her presence bugs me"
"Hey at least you didn't have to sit with Gold" Leaf said optimistically.
Silver shrugged, "I suppose she is the lesser of two evils" he admitted.
"Hey you guys! Guess what!" A voice chirped, skipping up to the groups lunch table and taking a seat next to Red.
"And when she says 'guess' she really does mean guess" Another voice said, taking the seat next to Silver.
"What is it Bianca?" Leaf asked the cheerful voice.
"Guess!" Bianca ordered.
"How about no"
Bianca crossed her arms, "You and Hugh are no fun"
Hugh rolled his deep red eyes, "Yes because that's the problem here" he said.
Bianca waved off Hugh's comment, "Well fine I'll just tell you then- There's this cute guy in my History class-"
"-I'm gonna stop you right there" Silver cut in, "Do you know this kid's name?"
Bianca's silence gave Silver his answer.
"Right, so are we done with this conversation?"
"I said I thought he was cute, not that I was like, in love with him" Bianca defended.
"Hey Bianca!" A girl greeted, walking up to the groups table, her arms full with papers.
"Hey Rosa!" Bianca chirped, "What's up?"
"Hilda wanted me to come ask you if this is the year you decide to join the squad"
Leaf cut in, "She's still trying to get you to join cheer?" She asked her friend.
Bianca shrugged, "I guess so" The blonde turned her attention back to Rosa, "Maybe I will try out this year"
Rosa's eyes lit up, "Really? That's excellent news! Hilda'll be ecstatic!"
"'Ecstatic'? I didn't know you had that big of a vocabulary..." Silver muttered quietly.
Rosa plastered a smile on her face as she turned to Silver, "It's called writing. Maybe you should try it sometime, perhaps then you won't get an F on all your essays" The brunette said passive-aggressively, raising her eyebrows.
Leaf nearly choked on her sandwich she was laughing so hard. Hugh laughed along with Leaf.
Silver's face turned nearly as red as his hair, "Whatever"
Rosa snickered and turned back to Bianca, "I'll see you next week at tryouts, then?"
Bianca nodded, "Yup. See ya then!"
"See ya!" Rosa chirped, turning to walk away. She stopped and turned back around, "See ya Hughy" she sang, waving at the boy with spikey blue hair.
Hugh smiled sheepishly and waved back, his face tinted pink. When Rosa finally walked away, Hugh sighed.
"'Oh Rosa I love you so much I can hardly contain the subtlety'" Leaf said, mocking Hugh.
"Shut up" Hugh snapped.
"I didn't like your girlfriend's joke" Silver said.
"First off, she's not my girlfriend. Second, you deserved it, dude"
"Yeah I know you don't like Gold and his friends, but you don't have to be so mean all the time" Bianca added.
"Whatever"

Silver sat in the library after school, working on his AP Biology homework. He normally would spend his time after school in the band room with his friends, messing around and playing music, but he decided he wanted to get his homework done. He'd often come into the library after school to do homework, since his house could get rather noisy...
"Um...Silver?" An annoyingly familiar voice whispered, getting Silver's attention.
Silver mentally groaned and looked up to see Lyra. He noted that her posture was different than usual- more nervous and alert, much like that morning in Pre Calculus.
"What?" Silver whispered.
"You're...good at math...right?" The girl nervously asked, messing with one of her pigtails.
Silver looked back down at his homework, "Yeah. So?"
"Well uh...I was wondering...if you would...if you're not busy...could you...help me?"
Silver looked back up at the girl in surprise, "You want my help?" He asked.
Lyra nodded.
"You couldn't ask any of your friends?"
"I don't expect you to understand" Lyra said, "Your friends all think you're smart when you are. My friends think I'm smart when I'm not"
Silver raised an eyebrow. He normally thought of Lyra as someone who carried herself with pride. Not necessarily someone who was too bright, but someone who took pride in what little she was capable of. Now she seemed like someone who desperately wanted to be better. He almost felt bad for her- he could relate.
"So you want me to like...tutor you?" Silver asked.
Lyra nodded, "Just for awhile. Only until I understand enough to get through this unit"
"And what do I get out of this?"
Lyra sighed, "Rosa told me about what she said today"
Silver nearly flinched, but he didn't want anyone knowing it had affected him, "So?"
"So maybe I could help you with that"
"You help me?" Silver asked with disbelief.
"I know you think my friends and I are dumb," Lyra told him, "But we are good at some things. Rosa and I just happen to be better writers than the others. Maybe I can help turn your bad essays into slightly better ones"
Silver though for awhile. Even if Lyra annoyed him, Silver could relate to her need to get better. He really did need to do better in writing. If his father saw those grades...
"Fine" Silver said finally, "We start tomorrow"
Lyra blinked in surprise, "Really?" She asked.
"You want me to change my mind?"
"No!" Lyra whisper-yelled, "Tomorrow is perfect!"
"Well not perfect, I'll have to cancel with Yellow and Hilda but I'll make it work" Lyra rambled.
Silver put his papers back into its folder, deciding to finish at home since he still had chores to do, "Meet me here tomorrow after school"
"Okay" Lyra chirped, "Thank you, Silver"
Silver rolled his eyes, "Whatever" he said, putting his folder back into his backpack.
Silver got up from his seat and began walking to the exit. Lyra followed at his heels and asked if he needed a ride. When Silver said "No", Lyra somehow went into a tangent, chatting about nothing.
Silver mentally groaned, This girl is going to be the death of me.
(A/N. Wow I wrote a thing.
I've had the idea for this thing for awhile now- putting all these kiddos in high school.
I know it isn't necessarily original, but I'm going to try and make this as interesting as possible. I've already got so many ideas.
I've had months to think of this sh*t- I've practically got the whole story planned out. Now I just have to figure out how to put it into words...
Anyway I got the idea for this from the (I'm gonna be trash for a sec so bear with me) MLP comic and fan made song "Neigh anything"
The comic is official the song isn't just to clarify lol I'm such trash
I hope you liked this cause I worked really hard on it and I'm really excited about it
So uh
K thx bai!)
