Ch.17

I was waiting during the whole week for this day. It was Samuel's idea of inviting our parents and informing them about the news of our engagement. I was wearing a black dress that covered my curves. It hung just above my knees and kept my long brown wavy hair loose. Samuel was wearing a black pants and white buttoned shirt.

Finally, it was Friday, and Samuel had been trying for the past ten minutes to calm me to get out of his car.

"You can't stay in the car for the evening. Everyone is waiting for us for dinner, and I am getting hungry," he said with a smirk which made me hit his shoulder playfully.

"Your mother won't like this at all." I touched the ring on my finger.

"Then she should get use to it," he went out of the car, opened my door, "Let's go," offering his hand with a goofy smile "Or else I would do it my way."

I sighed and just as I was about to step out of the car, I see his arms circling my waist, " Wh-What the-"

"Too late," he chuckled and my head was upside down, seeing his back, "I can walk, put me down."

He put me down indeed but to be carried bridal style in his arms, " Oh come on," I was trying to suppress a laugh, "Glad I amuse you," I huffed.

Samuel put me down as we were waiting for the elevator. I looked at the mirror, I was trying to make my hair a a bit presentable, "You ruined my hair," I mocked, looking at his reflection, we locked eyes, blue to hazel, he came closer, his chest was touching my back, "You look hot, love." Elevator's door popped open, we marched outside of the elevator, to meet the cheerfulness of Samantha, this girl can make anyone happy. She had this positive vibe wherever she goes.

" Heyy," she kissed Samuel's cheek.

"Girl, you look gorgeous," she said while hugging me.

We walked in the corridor, the dinning room was filled with guests. I approached my parents and hugged them.

"I thought it was going to be only our parents," I mumbled to Samuel.

He shrugged. He wasn't expecting this too, I can tell just from the look on his face.

His mother entered the room, walked to us, she welcomed my parents, and I was silent all the time. I was spreading smiles all the time, my feet were killing me from the heels.

When the dinner was announced, I was more than thankful. People would be busy eating, not glaring.

When all the guests were assembled in their places, Samuel stood up and cleared his throat. All eyes were watching and waiting for what he had to say. He took a breath, "I would like to thank each and everyone of you for being here with us today. I would like to announce that Julia and I are engaged," he grabbed my hand and I stood by his side, showing my ring to everyone.

"Julia, you drive me crazy and you made me go mad with your stubbornness and recklessness and that's what made me fall in love with you, I promise you my love that I'll always be there for you, you complete me," he wiped the tear that fell unnoticed on my cheek and kissed my forehead.

My parents weren't surprised at all, it seems that someone was working behind my back. He took the approval from my parents before his proposal.

His sister was extremely happy for us. She kept saying "I had it coming," which made me laugh.

Samuel's mother looked in pain. She was astonished which made me feel bad. I had to win her.

After dinner, I officially met George who had the same height as his friend, dark hair and gray eyes.

"Julia this is my childhood friend, and brother George, George this is my love, Julia," Samuel was smirking.

"That's a long title," I joked.

Both guys laughed, "Julia, nice meeting you," he said while shaking my hand.

"You were at the ice cream shop, I remember you." I smiled.

"Right, I've been in a business trip and let me tell you I was shocked at all the events which happened to you two," he looked from me to Samuel.

I nodded.

"Everything is better now," Samuel looked at me passionately.

"Hope always, man." George slapped his friend's shoulder.

"I owe you my life, Ms. Bloom," he said sarcastically. "I'll be here if you needed anything," his eyes were sincere.

Most of the guests had left, my parents, Samuel, his mother, and George were sitting in the living room. I was with Samantha, she was showing me the bathroom and insisted on waiting for me, she was sure I wouldn't find my way back and she was right. I would easily get lost in this maze of rooms.

"So Julia, I've been wanting to tell you something, but promise not to tell anyone," Samantha said.

"I promise," I assured her.

"I like someone," she opened her arms and hugged herself, "but I don't know, he is always distant," she frowned.

"Well, you have to know if he likes you, how does he look at you?" I asked.

"Hmm, sometimes it's the kind look, concern. Once I accidentally bumped into him, I was about to fall, but he caught me, I saw it in his eyes, a glitter of passion, ugh then he goes back to the serious face." She whimpered.

"You should try to ask him out. If he rejects you, then it's his loss," I was being logical. She had this sad face so to cheer her up, I said, "he would be really stupid, if I were a guy, I would definitely marry you," we laughed so hard.

"Thank you," she smiled, "I'll race you downstairs," she shouted while running ahead of me.

"Cheater," I screamed running after her.

As I was running down the stairs, I stopped to take a breath since I already lost, I felt a hand pressed to my back, I was fast to react, I turned and clutched to his shoulder, I couldn't see his face, he was wearing a hoodie, he hit my arm to free himself and ran away which made me stumble, I fell down half a flight of the stairs. I was on the ground, my arm was hurting me, "madam, are you okay?" A women in her forties kneeled next to me.

"I am fine, just I need to stand up, help me, will you?" I was leaning on her arm in order to stand up, as soon as I stood up, I grimaced at the pain and fell down on the ground. At that the maid, run but returned with Samuel and the rest running behind him.

"Julia, baby, what happened?" He looked at my arm, to say he was furious was an understatement.

"M-My ..A-Ankle," he picked me up in his hand, took me to the nearest bedroom. He put me gently in bed, he put his hand on my hair and stroked it.

After a while a Doctor knocked on the door, he checked my injuries, "You have a sprain ankle, it would heal within two weeks," he wrote a prescription, "How did you hurt you arm? Falling from the stairs, one could hurt his back, I assume it wasn't from the fall." When I didn't say anything, Doctor just nodded his head and I noticed Samuel running a hand in his hair.

My mom entered the room, she sat near me, "How did you fall, Julia? You know I didn't believe the whole story of slipping. Now tell me."

I didn't want to worry her, "I did slip mom, from the stupid heels." I insisted.

"Okay, honey if you say so," she looked at me and I was already feeling guilty for lying.

"I know you are happy, but are you sure he's the one," she looked with concerned eyes.

"Yes, mom, he's the one, I love him, now when are you traveling back to Britain?" I was trying to change the topic.

"Tomorrow, you know how your father is, he has to go back to his work." She held my hand.

I nodded.

Samuel's mother entered the room, "Mrs. Bloom, I enjoyed your company," she smiled at my mother.

"Julia, you have to be careful dear. Thank goodness, you are fine. You're welcome to stay as long as you need."

"Thank you," I said politely.

I was left alone, though not for so long. Samuel stormed inside the room, locked the door behind him. I wanted to say something, but his appearance made me stop. His hair was disheveled, few buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned which showed his bare chest.

"I'm. going. To. Kill. Him." He pronounced every syllable alone in a threatening tone.

"Whaaaat?"My eyes were wide in shock.

"I know everything, I saw it through the hidden cameras," his muscles in his shoulders tensed up.

Oh my God, he saw..

I buried my head in the palms of my hands.
