I loved parties ,I loved the fact that I could have the freedom most of my friends then craved for. I wore clothes that made people attracted to me, it gave me more confidence . I took drugs and liquor, vodka, you name it. I was almost an addict 'cause I loved the pleasure it gave me. I was a regular at Don Fedro's club, it was a stripper's club and it sold the best champagne on campus.

One evening, I was so messed up, I wasn't myself and I really needed a drink, so I rode to the club even when I knew that it wouldn't be selling but the guy was already there, tidying up the counter. I got in and started a conversation,

"This counter is always tidied up by Frank after every party,why do you still do it?"
He answered with a smile  "A little more hygiene"

From there he started talking about books and even with my love for parties, I still loved a good book. He told me there was a very good book he read and still reads 'cause he can't get enough of, he said the book was 'Life, protection, power' and I was curious to read the Great book..

He told me the book had a lot of great stories but was still centered around one person, and I knew that whatever that book was, I needed to read it. I wanted to read the book so badly, I had to tell him to tell me one of the stories he read from the book, and he did.
He told me,

"There was a very powerful person, God stronger than you can ever imagine, he created the world , he created all plants,all the animals. He continued " when the whole earth was formed , he created a man,the man was in his image and then he breathed into him, life. The man was just like a look-alike of the powerful person , but the powerful person didn't stop there, he took a rib from the man to form a woman. I thought for a second of how powerful he must be and I thought if I had that power,all the things I would be able to boy. As if reading my thoughts, he told me "his power has no measures and there is no one that can be compared to him"

Again, I thought, why did he use 'has' and 'is', so I asked him "You used 'has' and 'is', that should be a blunder in English" but he told me "He is still the most powerful person and his powers have no measures,no one can compare to him" then he added " He is not dead, he reigns and lives forever " I immediately knew where this conversation was going,so I shouted, " who are you to preach to me? If I needed a sermon, I would have gone to the nearby church and not sit in a bloody club and listen to a boss boy preach" at the last word, I jumped up from the bar stool and walked out of the club and I said to myself as I walked to my motorbike , This boy has ruined my tonight's vibe, I'm not clubbing tonight.

When I got to the house , I took off my clothes and went straight to bed, but I couldn't sleep, my mind went back to the boss' boy, I thought of the story he told me and I really wanted to know more about the powerful man but I was too stubborn to admit it to myself.

An hour later, I wore my clothes back, took my keys, I started my motorbike, before i knew what was going on in my head ,I found myself at the front of the club, I checked the time, it was 5:15, so I still had enough time before the club opened.

I got in through the back door and met the boss boy still cleaning the counter and glasses. I was like "Hey yo! You've been cleaning this counter since heaven knows" He looked at me and smiled. It was my cue to go on,

" I usually don't apologize to people,so be happy that I'm apologizing to you......... I'm sorry for my previous outburst "

He laughed heartily and said "no problem " I knew I was going to enjoy his stay, so I started

"since all is forgiven and you told me the book is a book of many and you already told me about Man and woman,can you tell me more ?" He smiled  and said, "as you wish" I was already eager to know more, so I collected the napkin from him and started cleaning the counter and rest of the cups while he told me the story. He started "There was a time in the book when God had seen this young man, his name was Jonah, and he told him to go to a particular city and warn everyone there and tell them to repent from doing bad things but the young man didn't want to go, he wanted to hide from the powerful man, so he did contrary to the instruction and boarded a ship that was going to another place. He and other passengers of the ship were very scared when they encountered a great storm, the storm was so dangerous they thought they would die,so the young man told the passengers to throw him into the water because he knew he had offended the powerful man, the passengers prayed that they would not be punished for killing if the young man died, they eventually threw him into the sea, and immediately, the storm stopped and the young man was swallowed by a big whale"

I stopped in my tracks as I heard that part, because it was so impossible. He answered my thoughts "with God, nothing is impossible, as long as you have him by your side and he is in you, you can do all things, because he is your strength and your life" and so I asked him,

" how will I make him stand beside me " he said " he is already beside you but you can't  see him, you can only feel his presence" I wanted him to continue the story but I also wanted to know how to feel his presence, but I decided that if I heard the story to the last, I would know how, then I told him to continue,he did,

" while he was in the belly of the whale,he prayed that he would come out and on the third day, the whale spat him out on the shore of the sea and when he looked up, he saw himself in the city he was sent to" he had no choice than to deliver the message of God to the people of the city and they all repented and they were saved, when they repented, The powerful man was with them also, he was in their heart and they could do anything because he was their strength and life"  with that, He told me had to leave by 6pm for the other person to set up the club fully for the party,so I asked him for his name,
" my name is Gabriel"
" I will call you Gabby if you don't mind , now let's rush this "

When we were done ,I told him I was not in the mood to party, I hurried to my bike and off I went.

Day by day, I became closer to Gabby and my love for the stories in the Bible became endless. I visited Gabby more often to listen to more stories, and the more I heard them, the less I drank, the less I partied, because I was too caught up thinking about God, his son, Jesus and the stories I heard about him. 

After my classes, I hurried to see Gabby at the club but he wasn't there, I met another guy and I asked to see him but the guy said he hadn't  seen any Gabriel, I tried to explain better

" He works here, you should know him....  He was employed 3months ago, I always met him here at 4pm till 6pm when he left for the other guy to set up the stage and all"

The guy insisted he had been working for 6 months straight and he opened the club at 6pm to prepare for the party at 8pm, I was confused and I couldn't argue anymore, I knew for a fact that I never got to the club during the night parties after my first encounter with Gabriel. so I left the club sad and back to my dorm, feeling the need to get a drink, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, as I  held the glass, I saw a wrapped package on the counter with a piece of paper on it, it was a note. 

"This is your copy of the Great book, the Bible. Everything you need to know is in it.  I'm always with you
~Gabriel"

I looked up and thought to myself, he was my spirit guide to redemption. From that day, I knew I was Saved.

The best person you can ever know and you can always trust is Jesus. He loves you, he died for you and rose again so that you will be free, from sickness, from diseases, from sin, from death.

Jesus isn't just an ordinary being, He's the son of the Almighty God, The creator of the Heaven and the earth and everything in it. God loves us and He created us, He saw that we were carried away by the things of the world; sin and he sent his son Jesus to bring us back to him.

Jesus is the way, to eternal life. Jesus is the way to God, the giver of eternal life, so if you want this, if you want to live forever, if you want to enjoy in peace, if you want to be happy, if you don't want to face eternal damnation, all you have to do is go to the Lord, Jesus.

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing .

If you seek him, you shall not want anything good, for you will have in abundance,  he will provide for you, everything good as long as you seek him.

All you have to do is accept him as your Lord and personal saviour, because he saved you, he will always be there to save you from the enemies, he will always be there to protect you.

How do you accept Him? It's very easy, say this prayer everyday and believe in your heart.

"Lord Jesus, I know you died on the cross of Calvary for me so I can live again, you died for me so I would not suffer any more and I'm grateful for that.  I surrender myself unto you Lord,  take me, make me whole again, forgive my ignorance and make music heart yours so I can have eternal life. I accept you as my Lord and personal saviour.  Thank you Jesus for I know you're for me and you will never leave me nor forsake me. Amen".

May the Lord Jesus be with us all and strengthen our faith in him, that we shall have eternal life. Amen.
