Chapter 6
(2 weeks later)
Nee, Kurama.
Yes kit?
... Nothing. Good morning. Naruto thought to Kurama as he woke up and looked around his room. Everything was still the way it previously was, plain. Good morning kit. Ready to meet your teammates again?
I think... Naruto said to Kurama. You're gonna do fine. Kurama tried to reassure him but his spirits was still as down as ever.
"Baka! You're late!" Sakura screeched. Naruto flinched but recovered fast enough to not let anyone notice and he put on his famous grin. "Good morning Sakura-chan!" Naruto greeted in the most cheerful voice he can manage. "Morning teme." Naruto greeted, as he shot Sasuke a pretend glare. "Che. Dobe." Naruto internally winced at the insults.
...4 hours later...
"Hello guys, sorry I'm late. A dolphin took my house keys and I have to run after it to get my keys back." Kakashi said, causing the three genins to sweatdrop. Dolphin? In the village? When is there an ocean in the village?
Looks like they don't believe me... Kakashi thought, mock hurt. "Anyways. Let's train, Sakura you spar with Naruto-"
"WHAT?! I DON'T WANT TO SPAR WITH THE DEAD LAST!! FOR GODS SAKE SENSEI!! IM WAY BETTER THAN HIM!" Sakura yelled so loud, she could be heard all the way from the other end of the village. Naruto's face scrunched slightly from the insult, he tried desperately to control the emotions that are starting to turn into tears. "... Just do it Sakura, after that Sasuke spars with Sakura and then Naruto. Is that alright?"
"Hai!" Sakura squealed in delight at the thought of being about to touch 'her Sasuke-kun'. Sasuke's eye twitched a little, angry at the fact that Sakura is making her thoughts so obvious and the fact that she is even thinking about such thoughts. I seriously wonder how she is going to promote. Sasuke grumbled in his mind as he watch the pink and blond haired genins move to the clearing. Naruto didn't even put any effort into trying to beat Sakura. He just let her hit him over and over and over again. Punches after punches, kicks after kicks. Sasuke realised that Sakura was saying something. "That's for the pregnant lady you almost killed... That's for pranking the villagers." Sakura said with each punch or kick. "That's enough Sakura!" Kakashi yelled and rushed over to the prone teen. "Naruto?" Kakashi asked hesitantly as he slowly reached a hand over to try wake Naruto. Naruto cracked his eyes open and took in his sensei's worried look and Sasuke's slight furry of his eyebrows and Sakura's smug look at beating him up. Is Sensei really concern or is he just worried that the kyuubi might be unleashed? Naruto thought as he pushed himself off the ground. "Naruto, take it easy okay?" Kakashi asked as he lead the boy to a tree to rest. "I'm okay sensei!" Naruto said in that annoying 'believe it' voice. "Whatever you say, Naruto."
Naruto watched as Sasuke and Sakura sparred. Sakura has hearts in her eyes as she ran towards Sasuke like it was those cliché romantic movies were the lead male and female run into each other's arms in the sunset on the beach. Sasuke just stepped aside and Sakura ran into a tree, knocking herself out.
"Okay, Naruto, it's your- NARUTO!" Kakashi yelled in shock as he watched his student collapse whilst trying to get up and he never got back up again.
Naruto was feeling very lightheaded and pain exploding everywhere, causing bright white lights to fill his vision. Naruto tried to conceal it as he swallow the blood that raised up his throat. He saw that Sakura and Sasuke's match was over so he stood up with the discreet support from the tree he was leaning on. That move made him feel like he was on a boat during a extremely stormy day. His vision started going black and the world tilted onto the side. He doesn't know when he hit the ground but when he did, everything went dark.
***************
"...Internal bleeding.... Opened up the old wounds..." Naruto had woken up and heard Tsunade's hush voiced conversation with someone. He snagged bits of the conversations through his fuzzy, disoriented mind. "Sakura... Didn't defend himself... Collapsed..." He heard another voice say. Kakashi. The door opened to reveal a very worried Tsunade and Kakashi. Tsunade looks like she had just been crying and pulling at her hair. "Hey naruto, how are you feeling?"
"I'm okay. " Naruto said with his widest grin. "I wanna get back to training!" Naruto suddenly declared and tried to get up but Tsunade stopped him from leaping off the bed. "You're going nowhere! You have gotten a lot of bruising and internal bleeding, she also opened up your old wounds! You are to stay in the hospital until you heal!"
"But baa-chan!" Naruto whined. A vein popped on her head at being called baa-chan. "Don't you dare." Tsunade said, glaring at him. Naruto sweat dropped. "Ma Ma Ma. I'm sorry." Naruto apologised sheepishly. "You better be." Tsunade warned, not knowing how the glare and the warning and her tone is affecting Naruto. She saw how Naruto's face pale and the bags under his eyes became more visible so she interpreted that as him being tired. "Alright. Out now Kakashi. He needs his rest!" Tsunade ordered before pushing the masked sliver haired ninja out of the room.
Naruto slumped against the headrest, tears welling in his eyes. No! Don't cry. Stop crying! Naruto thought as he blinked fast to get rid of the tears but it wouldn't stop, it spilled out from his eyes leaving wet trails in its wake. Naruto fished out a kunai, he held out his wrist and began tugging the kunai against his already scarred skin. Naruto's heart felt very heavy from all the insults that was thrown at him and the unsaid words that Naruto always misinterpreted as negativity.
