Chapter 2
Amber POV
The memories of that place haunted me. You would think being tortured for 15 years of your life would make you stronger. It doesn't. That's why I'm stuck here.
The tears soon became uncontrollable sobs.
Then the door clicked open.
I glanced up to find a boy who seemed around my age look cautiously back at me.
When the realisation sunk in I shuffled as far into the corner as humanly possible.
As the boy took another step towards me I could feel the room begin to spin and my breathing become heavy.
His hands shot up signalling surrender.
"Hey, calm down. I won't hurt you. I was just wondering why you were crying?".
My blue eyes locked with his grey ones and the dizziness began to decrease.
"Nightmares," I choked out.
"What's your name?" He questioned.
"Amber," I muttered under my breath.
I don't even know this guy yet I feel completely ok to tell him my name.
I don't understand why I felt so comfortable around him though because it took The manor 3 weeks to get me to speak a word.
And well Amber, it's not actually my name. I don't have one. I was taken as a baby so my name was given to me by my only friend, Krystal.
Now she's dead....
But that's a story for another time.
"Xavier," he stated, introducing himself, grey eyes burning into mine.
As my fear began to seep away, I felt two firm hands grab my shoulders as turn me around completely.
And I soon found myself wrapped in his arms.
"Why are you crying," he whispered, asking once again.
"Memories," I told him as I bit my lip trying to prevent tears from falling.
"Wanna talk about it?"
I laughed pulling out of his hug.
"I'm fine," I said wiping my tears. "I don't even know you. You're not involved in my issues and I think It would be best for both of us if it stayed that way".
"This is the red sector, right?" He asked tilting his head slightly.
"Yeah, why?"
"Why are you in here? You seem pretty harmless to me," he stated.
"Yeah, to you..."
He gazed up to see the clock on my wall. It read 6:04.
"Shit," I heard him cuss under his breath. "I need to go," he whispered in my ear pulling me into another hug.
"Why?" I didn't want him to go. He made me feel calm, an unfamiliar yet comforting feeling.
"I came to see my nan so I should probably go do that," he said in a dull tone. "But, Amber," I love the way my name rolls off his tongue. "I will come back the day after next".
"But why?" I asked truly confused as to why he wanted to be here.
"Because I care..."
