Chapter 1

Amber POV

"You're a pathetic, worthless, whore. Look at yourself. No one's ever gonna save you." a voice all too familiar told me.

I felt my back hit the cold ground as some old wounds reopened and new ones formed.

I closed my eyes as a fist came to connect with my face....

I sat up in my plain single bed, panting for air and wiping the sweat from my forehead.

I touched my cheeks to find tears running down. I'm used to it though.

It happens every night, these nightmares of memories I try so hard to forget.

And it's impossible to stop the tears once they start.

Is anyone ever going to save me?

Xavier POV

I thanked mom as I stepped out of the car to come face to face with Satory manor, a mental asylum that accommodated my nana.

I had always been really close with my nana as she raised me. My mom never had enough money to care for me when I was young and only took me back when I was 14, when she got her life back on track.

My nerves increased with every step I took closer to the manor. The automatic doors coming into view.

Come on.

You're Xavier Cole.

Man up.

I took a deep breath as I stepped into the plain building and looked around until my eyes fell upon the reception desk.

"Hello, how may I help you sir?" a girl who seemed slightly older than me asked.

"Amelia cole. What room is she in?" I don't want to sound rude but I just want to get to nana as quickly as I can so I can leave this place. It's creepy.

"Room 98, second hall and to the right. She is currently in yellow sector but you will have to walk through red sector to get there.. When walking through red sector don't stop. At all. Just keep walking through. Some of the people in red sector are slightly dangerous..."

Ok, that kinda worries me. My nana is stuck in a place with dangerous people. As I was walking up to the first hall so I could reach the second, I saw a sign.

'Sectors in rating (safety 1-10, safest 1, not safe 10)
Yellow 1
Green 3
Blue 5
Purple 6
Orange 8
Red 10
Please be aware'

Ohhhh awesome.

I walked down the first hall cautiously when I heard crying.

I know I needed to walk on but the crying only got louder and I was starting to get curious.

I took a step closer to the room the sobs were coming out of.

Room 65.

I twisted the handle to find a red head curled up in the corner of the dull room.

She looked up in fear and cowered as far as she could into the corner.

But then our eyes locked.

And everything changed...
