"Lena! I'm sorry I shouldn't have- we, we shouldn't have kissed. It was a rush of something and I'm not going to say I regret it but the timing was horrible and all I wanted to do was help. I thought stepping away would make things less complicated but it's only worse." I rambled as I stood up and walked toward Lena,
"You meant the best, I know. This was a mistake huh? I trust you but please, be careful." Lena said softly before she hugged me, "I know you've been through hell today, this is your one free pass okay?" She asked as I looked at me,
"I promise, I will try my hardest to keep my emotions from taking over." I said with a salute, Lena smiled and gave me a nod,
"You have two days until your hearing. Tell me you'll be put together for the day." She said holding my hands, I nodded slowly. She smiled and let go before walking down stairs, I looked at Chloe who laid down under my blankets and had the sheets open for me. I laid down beside her and stayed awake for a while until I just finally fell asleep.

~In The Morning~
I woke up and Chloe was getting our clothes together, I stood up and went to the bathroom to remove my makeup and wash up a little.
"Courtney come here, I have our clothes picked out!" Chloe yelled, I giggled as I saw our jean jackets that we've had for years.

We ran down stairs and twirled for mom who laughed as we held hands,
"You aren't over the twin thing yet?" She asked we looked at each other while smiling and shook our heads,
"Can I drive today?" I asked as I held up my keys. Mom nodded and smiled, I looked at Chloe and she picked up my back pack, I took a deep breath knowing tomorrow is the trial and I need to make the best of today. I put Jesus' sweatshirt in my backpack and walked out the door and Chloe followed me,
"Are you sure your ready?" She asked, I nodded slowly and got in the car as we drove to school.

Once we got to school I parked and then I heard tires screeching, I turned and saw a red sports car, I watched as Jesus and this dude Nick got out. I bit my lip and starting walking toward the school again,
"Chloe are we sure today we should go to school?" I asked softly. Chloe looked at me and nodded as we walked in,
"Courtney!" I heard someone yell, I turned around and saw Nick next to Jesus. I shook my head,
"I have to go to class." I said quickly before turning around seeing Lena, I nodded at her as I walked to class before I could walk in a felt someone grab my arm and I turned to see Jesus,
"Courtney please we need to talk."
"No we don't." I turned to walk away,
"Please." Jesus said softly with a begging look and I couldn't hurt him but I couldn't let this happen, I promised that I had to fix my timing,
"Jesus if you're talking about last night, it was a mistake as in a huge timing mistake. I was frazzled from making that decision for both of us and it shouldn't have happened." I said looking up at him,
"If you need to do it again so it's not a mistake we can" Jesus said with a smirk. At this point I know how much pressure is on me, I looked around,
"Jesus I really don't want to do this right now." I said softly as my eyes darted around. Jesus put his hand on my cheek and looked at me,
"We are here and we can talk." He said looking at me,
"IT WAS A MISTAKE!" I yelled before I ran off crying,
"What do you mean?!?" I heard Jesus yell I was far enough away to look at him,
"The timing will never be right." I said to myself,
"Why do you mean?" I jumped and saw Mariana behind me.
"Just about some essay I have to write." I said with a shrug as I walked off before seeing Nick eyeing Mariana,
"Do you know if she's single?" Nick asked,
"Just broke up with her boyfriend, give her a while. Tell me when Jesus has chilled out." I said before I walked outside and sat at the lunch tables crying with my head on the table.

After missing a couple class periods I heard footsteps in heels, crap. I looked up,
"Courtney, you need to go home, you have a lot on your mind and I know you blew up but you need to relax at home for today." Lena said softly, I nodded. I stood up and realized that I couldn't leave Chloe at school,
"Should Chloe come with me?" I asked looking at Lena,
"I'll call her out and tell her you two need to go home, you shouldn't have come and you know it." Lena said softly,
"Yeah I uh I know. I just wanted to tell Jesus that it wouldn't happen again but I guess he's too hurt right now." I said with a shrug,
"Give him time sweetie." She said before we walked to the office, I saw Jesus and Nick as I walked by,
"Courtney?" Jesus said quickly and rather loudly, must be the post crying head ache,
"She isn't herself right now Jesus she needs to go home." Lena said quickly backing me up. I soon saw Chloe running down to the office,
"We're going home, come on." I said grabbing her hand and walking away,
"Wait!" I heard, I just kept walking. Once we got to the car I looked at Chloe,
"Can we go get lunch and ice cream?" I asked as she took the keys out of my hand and nodded,
"We can as long as you tell me exactly what's going on." She said as she got in the car, I got in the passenger seat and as we drove to a little lunch spot, I told her everything and every detail.

We ate lunch in almost silence until the waiter walked up and put a cup of mint ice cream in front of me,
"I didn't order this." I said softly knowing it was my favorite flavor,
"The guy who just came in ordered it and sent it over." He said, I sucked in a breath and nodded as I looked over and saw Callie, Mariana, and Jesus. Chloe looked at me,
"Are you sure you can talk?" She asked as she put a hand on mine. I nodded and stood up walking over,
"Courtney..." Callie said softly, "You look a mess, why did you make me drive you two here?" She asked Jesus and Mariana who had guilty looks,
"Come sit down.." I said softly as I walked over to my booth and sat beside Chloe. I watched as Jesus sat on the end after Mariana and Callie sat down, he looked at me and I'm pretty sure he had an idea of what is wrong,
"Why did you do it?" Mariana asked concerned,
"I stepped away for myself. Myself and Jesus and the whole family, I was starting problems. Those of which I didn't want to make and then I was so frazzled from the day and..." my voice trailed off and I choked back my tears, "seeing my father wasn't easy but I have to and tomorrow I have to testify in front of him, Jesus I'm so sorry for everything." I said looking around and finally looking at Jesus,
"They know it happened, I shouldn't have taken advantage of you in that state, we both messed up and we need to go about this a different way..." Jesus said softly as he looked at me,
"I don't know how to fix it though." I said quickly,
"Courtney you don't have to fix everything." Chloe said wrapping an arm around me,
"I might have an idea!" Mariana said as she lit up,
"What are you thinking?" Callie asked,
"Jesus and Courtney sit in a room and talk all this through, together." She said looking at us,
"We sit down in chairs at separate sides of the room and if we can get past each issue we can meet in the middle. But if we can't get through something we have to stay there." I said looking at my ice cream,
"Reward for fixing everything?" Jesus asked, I looked up and nodded,
"Can we fix this as quick as possible?" I asked. Callie nodded as Chloe handed me the keys and I stood up. Jesus let me walk in front of him before he stood up and stood behind me, I heard a whistle and looked toward it and it was one of my dad's friends who always was after Chloe and I,
"Watch it buddy." Jesus said in a threatening tone,
"What are you gonna do?" Donny yelled as he looked us up and down, I grabbed Jesus by the arm,
"We don't need to talk to him." I said softly looking up at him. Jesus nodded and put his hand on the small of my back as he made sure Chloe was beside me,
"I have a message from Jason." Donny said aloud, I turned around and looked at him raising my eyebrow, "Don't ya wanna know what your father thinks about you tramping around anywhere other than his house?" He asked with a smirk and that set something off in me.
"Burn in hell you spineless twirp! Satan has a special place for you Donny! You're worse than Jason and you are a sick person" I screamed as I lunges for him but Jesus grabbed me and carried me out as I reached toward Donny in anger while sobbing, "you sadistic son of a bitch!" I yelled as Jesus walked out and put me down and put his hands on my shoulder as I sobbed before wrapping my arms around him and bury my head in his chest.
"Come on we need to talk." He said softly as he walked me to my car, instead of Chloe getting in Mariana did, followed by Jesus. I looked at Chloe and she nodded. I started the car,
"I'm sorry Court." Mariana said softly,
"No. I'm very sorry for not making everything clear. I had liked Jesus as more than a friend for quite some time but I put my feelings aside." I said as I waited for everyone to buckle up. Once everyone did I started driving,
"You had feelings for me?" Jesus asked shocked,
"It was obvious, she always looked at you in adoration but you never noticed, I knew I was being a thorn but all I wanted was to keep from anything happening to Emma." Mariana said as she looked at me,
"I should have stepped away before it was too late." I said as I put on my sunglasses,
"What happened in the diner?" Jesus asked,
"Donny." I said grimly as I looked at the road clenching the wheel tighter,
"Wait until we get home to talk and do the chair, room thing." Mariana said as she patted my shoulder. I nodded,
"We may need a moderator." I said looking at Mariana for a second, she gave me a nod as I pulled up to the house. We all got out and went inside, I saw Callie and Chloe pulling in behind us. Mariana and I set up chairs in the living room across from each other. I sat down in my chair and Jesus sat in his, Mariana stood in the middle,
"Who is going to go first?" Mariana asked, I stayed silent,
"I'll go. Courtney why did you snap at the diner?" Jesus asked looking at me. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a second,
"Donny is my father's best friend and I was sworn to secrecy by my father and Donny to never tell my mom what Donny did to us and what he told us he did." I said as I looked down,
"Why did he do?" Jesus asked, I quickly looked up as tears welled in my eyes, I looked at Chloe and she nodded,
"He touched me. The last time he did was a year ago and he made me touch him. He kissed me and he made comments..." I started choke up before I started sobbing as I looked at the ground, "He raped me last year..." I cried out, I felt a pair of arms around me and I looked up seeing Mariana and she rubbed my arm,
"It's okay, can't you report him?" She asked softly,
"That's the worst part. My own father, where I get my genes from, witnessed it and took pictures but it would never hold in court." I said softly as I wiped my tears,
"Alright should we continue?" Mariana asked as Jesus and I scooted our chairs closer,
"Jesus, why did you let Emma believe we were hooking up? Why didn't you tell her that it was platonic." I asked looking him in the eye.
"Because, she never believed me, she knew how close we were and I knew she wouldn't understand!" Jesus said looking at me,
"That isn't how relationships work! I may have never been in one, but I know you be honest with them and if they don't try to understand, they're not good enough." I said shaking my head slightly,
"I didn't want our relationship to be platonic at all but I cared about Emma too." He said looking at me,
"Jesus, that's ridiculous, you have always had a choice, if you didn't want Emma you shouldn't have put her through all the hurt. I thought we were so close that if you felt that way you could have told me." I said as Jesus nodded,
"I was wrong okay. I made a mistake and after we're done, I'll call and tell Emma everything." He said as we went to scoot,
"Stop, I have one more question. When did you decide you wanted me instead?" I asked, Jesus turned red,
"Just after the day you got out of the hospital and we were on the couch." Jesus said looking at me, I sighed,
"I understand but know, I don't think any of it was fair to Emma." I said crossing my arms before I moved the chair closer.
"I wanna throw a topic in." Chloe said as she looked at us, "the kiss." She added,
"The kiss." Jesus and I said in unison,
"Why did it happen?" Mariana asked I cleared my throat and sighed,
"I had a rough day and both Jesus and I were clearly not in the right mind to kiss but it happened and I do not regret it but I am learning from it." I said looking at Jesus,
"I don't regret it but I regret the way I acted earlier, I'm really sorry for that." Jesus said and we scooted closer and our knees were touching,
"You'll be with me tomorrow right?" I asked softly, he nodded and smiled as I leaned in to hug him but I stopped as Jesus blurred out,
"I have a date with Lexie and Nick and Mariana tonight!" I blinked and looked at him,
"He's trying time annoy me because I wanna talk with Nick." Mariana said. I nodded slowly,
"Uhm, I'm just gonna walk across the yard to my house." I said standing up, Jesus grabbed my arm and pulled me back,
"You're jealous." He said with a smirk,
"Yes, we were just talking about the fact we kissed. The fact that we didn't want our relationship to be platonic! I went to hug you and you just had to tell me about a date with your ex and your sister and your best friend." I said looking up at him,
"We?" Jesus asked quickly,
"I'm not talking about this! I'm going home and watching movies in my pajamas." I said as I started walking out of the living room,
"Courtney." Jesus called out, I turned and looked at him, he gestured for me to come back, I walked back slowly and he just brought me close to him as he hugged me,
"So you two both want to be together, why aren't you?" Callie asked,
"I feel like this isn't the right time. After the trial on the other hand...." I said with a smile as I blushed, Mariana poked Jesus and the started to gesture toward each other. Chloe looked at me and we nodded,
"We need to rest." She said and she took my hand and we walked home. We sat on the couch and watched movies until mom came home and we started preparing for the trial.
