🌸Goodnight, My Love🌸
When Sasuke Uchiha comes home, he's a stumbling, shaking mess. There are tears leaking down his flushed cheeks and gait is so uncoordinated that Sakura's anxiety peaks the moment she sees him. "Sasuke," she says, immediately grabbing his arms and steadying. "Sasuke, my love, what's wrong?"
It's only after she gets a bit closer to him that she smells the saké on his breath. Oh, he's drunk. She pauses. Wait, he's drunk? Sasuke Uchiha, the man who had once gone to Naruto Uzumaki's wild parties and returned home completely sober after making sure everyone else got home safe? That Sasuke Uchiha?
Sakura doesn't ask questions—those can be saved for tomorrow morning—and instead just lets her arms encircle him. "Oh, Sasuke," she says as he weeps into her shoulder. "What have you done now?" Whatever answer he gives is unintelligible.
It takes a while for her to coax him into drinking a tall glass of water. "You'll feel better in the morning," she assures as she gently wipes away any stray tears that fall from his eyes. "Trust me, you'll be glad that you drank the water."
Sasuke seems completely unconcerned with the water, which he gulps down in seconds just to be done with it. Sakura has to promptly take him to the bathroom, where he throws up—she holds his hair back and slowly rubs circles into his back, muttering soft words to him. "You'll feel better in a bit. Here, have some more water."
She then tries to convince him to go to bed. "It's so late and you look tired."
Sasuke stares at her stubbornly, then looks back down at the empty glass in front of him. He abruptly stands and Sakura, startled, goes to help him maintain balance, but Sasuke walks right past her and fills his glace with more water right up until, if he were to add any more, it would flow over. He then stumbles over to Sakura, spilling quite a bit of water in the process, and places the cup into her hands with a surprising amount of gentleness. "You should drink," he mumbles. He then turns around, grabs an entire bundle of paper towels, and starts to haphazardly wipe the water off of the floor.
It only ends in disaster, of course, and Sakura fights off a grin as she says, "Thank you for helping me, Sasuke." The smile he gives her is small and shy and Sakura can't help but melt. "Oh, you're so wonderful, my love." She slowly kneels down and takes the paper towel bundle from him, cleaning up the mess on her own.
Sasuke, meanwhile, stands up and brings her more water. This time it's nowhere near as full, and so it doesn't spill. "Thank you," she says. Now his smile grows, and he looks particularly proud of himself.
After cleaning up, Sakura gently says, "Let's go to sleep."
Sasuke frowns at her. "Are you sleepy?"
"Very," Sakura lies.
Sasuke nods resolutely. "Then we will sleep."
It takes a while before Sakura can convince him to get a change of clothes. In fact, she barely manages to get him to take his soiled ones off. After that, Sasuke just climbs into bed and stares at her expectantly. She sighs. Tomorrow, he will wake up buck naked and be completely embarrassed, and he will ask why Sakura hadn't convinced him to put clothes on. She will just say that he is an obstinate idiot.
Now, though, she just smiles indulgently and climbs into bed, ready to sleep. Sasuke suddenly grabs her and shoves her face into his shoulder. Startled, she asks, "Sasuke?"
"You can cry."
"What?"
"I cried on your shoulder. You can cry on mine."
And she melts once again. Truly, her husband is too good for this world. "Ah, Sasuke, I don't want to cry right now."
Sasuke pulls back and looks at her, eyes wide. "You don't want to cry? Even though I came home late?"
"You already told me you'd be coming home late, silly. Why would I cry?"
"But I came home late."
"I knew you would."
Sasuke seems incapable of comprehending the fact that she's not mad at him for arriving home a bit later than usual. He had already told her that he was going to some party with Naruto and his friends, so she hadn't been surprised by his late arrival. "Sasuke, it's getting late. Go to sleep."
Sasuke then buries his head into her shoulder once again. "I'm sorry," he mumbles.
"What are you sorry for?"
"Coming home late."
She pauses. "Is that what you were crying about, my love?" When he nods, his hair tickles her face and she giggles. "Oh, Sasuke, I love you so much."
Sasuke looks up and stares at her, eyes sparkling. "I love you, too," he says enthusiastically.
"I love you more."
"No, I love you more!" His eyes narrow at her, as if daring her to contradict him.
Sakura laughs. "Yes, you love me more than anyone else in the world."
Nodding, satisfied, Sasuke buries his face in her shoulder once again and stays there. Eventually, his breathing evens out and Sakura lets out a sigh. Her husband, she realizes, is an adorable drunk. She hopes that she'll get to see him like this again.
She smiles into his hair. "Goodnight, my love."

Wow. That was a whole lot of fluff and soft SasuSaku shenanigans. And you best believe that drunk!Sasuke can and will always do everything he can for Sakura with lots of enthusiasm. He's too cute for our dear Sakura to handle!
Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed that! See you next month!
