Dylan and I sat down in the sitting area in the hang out area of the HQ. She nervously started talking.
"I'm sorry I kissed Tyler, I misunderstood what he said. I somehow got the idea that you guys broke up. I'm sorry that everything happened, I miss being friends with you guys." She explained. "I understand, but I was upset that you guys didn't tell me." I told her. She nodded. "I get why you would be, we didn't tell you about something important." She nods. I looked out the windows to see Tyler and Brody having a staredown. "Uh, we might want to go out there." I said as I pointed towards them. We both got up and sprinted out there.
"What is going on?" I asked as I pushed them apart. I stood in front of Tyler and placed my hand on his chest before looking at Brody. Dylan was talking to Brody. "I told him he should keep his mouth shut and out of people's personal lives." Tyler growled. "What did he say?" I calmly asked.
"He said you don't deserve to be a captain." He growled as he flared his nostrils, a signal he was about to fight. "Who cares what he thinks? I worked to be a captain, he just got it. Let's go." I said as I started to lead him off towards our pod. We all stood in a circle.
"We need to train, the crucible is two weeks." I softly said to the group. "Callie, what if we don't make it. What if something happens and we can't finish the race?" Lizzie asks. Eric nods. "Then we work harder for next year." I said. "We're not giving up that fast." Gina and I both say. We high five each other before turning back to the pod. Everyone nods and starts towards the buoys, except Tyler. I turned my whole body to face him.
"What's going on? Are you okay?" I asked him as I placed my hand on his cheek. He leaned into my touch. "I don't like how everyone thinks you're not capable of being a captain just because you're from the valley." He softly says. "I don't care what they think, we'll show them by getting tower one." I promised. He slowly nodded and pulled away from my hand.
"I'm going to help them." He said before kissing me and running to the rest of the pod. I nodded and walked over to Dylan's pod. "You guys need any help?" I asked. "No, I think we're okay. Thank you though." Dylan smiled. I nodded and walked back to my pod.

"Do you want to invite Tyler to movie night tonight?" My mom asked as I walked into the kitchen for a snack. Dylan and I made up about four days ago, and Tyler and I haven't hung out in a little while except on the bus and during lunch, so I was a bit excited to invite him over. "Sure, I'll call him." I smiled as I took my phone out of my pocket. She nods as I walk upstairs to my room with a bowl of chips in my hand.
"Hey, baby!" Tyler answered the phone. "Hey, Ty." I blushed as I sat down on my bed before un-pausing my TV show. "What's up?" He asked. By the tone of his voice, I could tell he was smiling.
"My mom wants me to invite you to a movie night tonight at the house tonight, you down?" I asked. "Definitely! What time should I be there because I will be there now if I have to." He laughs into the phone. "Sure, just come on over now." I laughed. "Don't say that, because you know I will." He joked.
"I'm serious, come over. Reed is at Delilah's until 6, my grandparents left this morning, Ryland is coming in later tonight, and my parents are going to pick him up soon." I whispered into the phone while glancing at the clock. It was currently 3 pm.
"Don't have to ask me twice." He laughed. "Okay, I'll see you in a couple minutes." I smiled. "Okay, Bye. I love you." He said. "Love you too, bye." I said before hanging up.
"He's on his way!" I yelled down the stairs to my mom. "Okay!" My dad yelled up the stairs. I nodded and closed my door. I grabbed my bowl off my nightstand and started eating while leaning against the head board.
A couple minutes later, Tyler showed up in my doorway. "Hey, babe." I smiled as he laid his head on my thigh. I set my now empty bowl on my nightstand and ran my fingers through my boyfriend's hair. "Hey." He smiled. He relaxed against my leg as my door opened.
"Hey, we're going to pick up your brother for the last time. I can't believe he's graduating college and has a girlfriend." My mom says as she leans against my door way. "Me too, I remember when I fell off the swing because Reed pushed me Ryland held me as I cried and almost fought Reed for me." I laughed as I played with Tyler's hair.
"Oh yeah! I remember that!" My mom laughed. My dad appeared next to her. "I trust you two not to do anything you're not supposed to." He waved his finger at the two of us. "Relax." I rolled my eyes. My dad looked between the two of us before disappearing down the stairs.
My mom looked between the two of us. "You guys already-."
"Don't even finish that sentence." I loudly laughed. She threw her hands in the air, surrendering and laughing. "We'll be back." Mom laughed before disappearing down the stairs after closing the door. Tyler sat up and pulled me closer to him as I heard the front door close downstairs.
Tyler's head ducked down and kissed me. He gently pushed me down onto the bed and trailed kisses down my jawline to my neck. I tilted my head so he could have more access. He left a harsh mark on my neck as he pulled away a few minutes later.
"You best be giving me your hoodie." I pouted. "You have a closet full of them!" He exclaimed as he pointed to my closet. "You have yet to let me borrow that new lifeguard hoodie one." I pouted. He groaned before tucking his head into my neck.
