Running
What's up guys? Here's part three! It starts and ends with a letter. Hopefully you like it and will stay tuned for part four!
Mom,
Dad's gone now. And now I think I am, too. I'm lost. I can't seem to find myself or what to do with my life. I'm drowning and I need to run. Run until I can't anymore. Hopefully I can find myself then. Don't worry. Don't come after me. Just let me be.
Then maybe this will work.
Love,
Haley.
Pop.
A magnet coming off of the Arden refrigerator, only to return with a note. The midnight note.
Good. Now she'll know that you're not just disappearing, said the voice inside of Haley's head. And she won't come after you.
Haley gathered her phone and her hot pink umbrella. Then she just needed money.
She looked around in drawers in the kitchen and could barely find anything. Where would her mom keep all of her money?
Her wallet, stupid. Duh.
She brushed a lock of brown hair out of her eyes.
Okay, you can do this. You're not stealing. Just...borrowing without consent.
Quietly tiptoeing up the steps.
CREEEEAAAAK.
"Crap!" Haley muttered under her breath. "Stupid noisy step!"
Into the room. King size bed just for just one now. Dirty tissues scattered like a minefield. A sheet and a comforter, both soaked with tears.
Her mother on the right side of the bed. To her mother's right, a night stand.
Quiet sneaking to the black wooden nightstand. Opening up the first of two drawers.
Slowly. Quietly.
Fetching out a brown leather wallet.
Slowly. Quietly.
Opening it up and pulling out a silver rectangle. Putting everything back in its place except for the card. Dashing down the stairs.
P.S.
Sorry about your credit card. I will return it when I get back!
