(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The air was filled with cheering and loud horns of the band playing their instruments as the student body screamed out for their basketball team. There were banners and posters, the cheerleaders shaking their green, yellow and white pompoms as the basketball players all ran onto the court, hi-fiving people on their way in.
"This is chaotic." (y/n) chuckles as she and Billy shimmied into an empty space on the bleachers, her being wary of her glasses and hat that covered her appearance.
"I told you this wasn't a good idea." Billy says in her ear knowing she wouldn't be able to hear him over the screaming and she does the same.
"It will be ok! Everyone will be too busy with the game. Plus Max is happy!" she points to the redhead girl who was smiling when she turned around, waving at her brother and her sister-in-law.
"Who is that with Billy?" Max goes rigid as Dustin speaks up next to her, wiping the smile off her face before turning back to him to not give (y/n) away.
"A friend that apparently knew (y/n)."
"Ok, but why is she with Billy? Don't tell me he moved on already!?" Dustin scoffs but Max was chuckling on the inside.
"No. They both knew each other from California apparently and since he was coming down, he asked her if she wanted to see (y/n)'s headstone." Dustin nods, not wanting to prod when his older friend was mentioned. He missed her, the whole Hawkins group did.
Billy was discreetly holding (y/n) to his side, rubbing her bare hip beneath her shirt and jacket as he watched the boys play. "I hope the team wins the championships like you did with your old team." (y/n) leans into Billy and he smirks.
"Doubt it, I practically carried that team."
"Of course you did love. You're the best player." (y/n) smiles remembering the videos of Billy's team winning that were taped and saved along with the endless amounts of photos in her boxes.
"Do you recognise her?" Billy nods to a curly brown-haired girl and (y/n) furrows her brows, trying to remember her from the photos.
"Nancy right? Didn't she and Steve used to date?" (y/n) sees Steve with some random girl she didn't know.
"They broke up sometime after we both moved to Hawkins." Billy smirks, a memory popping up. "You used to come to visit me during our practices."
"Really?" (y/n) raises a brow as she looked at her boyfriend. "And why would I do that?"
"Hmm, maybe because I realised that you liked the pet name darling and I may or may not have coerced you to see me." Billy grins as he takes hold of (y/n)'s chin, seeing her blush the exact same way she did when he first called her darling and he loved it. "That and also you said you wanted to see my skills."
"Well, I must've been glad after seeing you play. You got major skills." (y/n) smirks back and Billy leans in close, his hand gripping her thigh.
"Oh, you know I have many. So many that involves my name falling from your lips." (y/n) shudders and that boosts Billy's ego, heat rushing through him seeing her fall pliant so easily from his words. The two jump away from each other when the crowd suddenly start cheering, seeing the Hawkins team ahead of the other team. (y/n) chuckles as she watches billy really get into the game, yelling out with other sports fans about fouls or other sports terms. She wasn't one to watch games but she enjoyed seeing how active Billy was in them and how he was basically coaching the team.
"Hello there sweetheart." (y/n) jumps and turns to her left to see Eddie smiling at her. "Didn't think I would see you around here again." his lips perk up seeing the girl in front of him blush.
"Oh, hi Eddie. I'm here cause Billy's sister asked me and I thought it would be fun to watch a game."
"Which one is she?" Eddie asks, shifting closer to (y/n) as she points to the redhead standing next to Dustin. "Oh! She's friends with one of my club members, Henderson."
"Dustin? Oh yeah. You run a club?" (y/n) asks and Eddie points to his shirt. "Hellfire?"
"DND-"
"-like dungeons and dragons?" (y/n) perks up, surprised herself that she knew what that was. Maybe her old self knew what DND was.
"Why should I be surprised that a beauty like you is also smart." Eddie smirks, tilting his head as he reaches up to play with (y/n)'s hair. He wondered was behind those glasses she wore, leaning towards her.
"Eddie..." he hums, his eyes flickering to her full lips that were parted in shock before looking up and seeing Billy narrow his eyes at him from behind (y/n).
"Munson."
"Hargrove." Eddie smirks as he leans back and Billy sits down next to (y/n), the two boys sandwiching her between them and it causes her heart to just combust. Two crazy attractive guys were on either side of her.
"Let's uh, maybe watch the game?" (y/n) squeak out and both men smirk seeing her so flustered.
"Of course princess/sweetheart." both men reply in her ear and her skin heats up.
What were they doing!?
Why was Billy allowing this!?
(y/n) shakes her head lightly, focusing back on the game to see there are less than 20 seconds left. It was a neck and neck game until Lucas takes the ball and makes the final shot that would make or break the championships for Hawkins High. Everyone held their breath as the ball flew across the court, going through the net just as the timer ends.
"Holy shit!" (y/n) screams out along with the others, standing up and cheering loudly at the fact that Hawkins High won for the second year in a row. "They did it!" The entire court was screaming out in celebrations that Hawkins won. The final throw was what everyone was talking about, even after everyone had packed up to go back home. Billy was ranting on about the game and (y/n) loved seeing him so passionate about something, leaning into his chest as he held her shoulders while taking her out of the gym until Eddie stopped them.
"It was fun bumping into you tonight sweetheart! Hope we see each other again very soon." he leans down to kiss (y/n)'s hand before running off and she was left confused.
"How are you not mad? I thought you would've threatened him by now." (y/n) looks up at Billy as he blows smoke from the cigarette between his lips, leading her to his car.
"I know he has no chance of taking what's mine." he smirks down at her, pinning her against his car as he leans down to kiss her, blowing the smoke into her mouth.
"Billy... someone from the group might see..." (y/n) sighs out the smoke blissfully, mumbling against his lips as she leans back.
"Let's head home then." Billy grins as he steps back after stealing one more kiss from (y/n), trying to find his sister. He sees her walk out with Lucas and Dustin, narrowing his eyes at the boys hanging around his sister until she bids them goodbye and runs up to the car.
"I'm tired of school, let's go!" Max jumps into the back and (y/n) chuckles, getting into the car with Billy as he revs it up and drives off. Max was rambling on about the game and how boring it was until the end, Billy leaning over to grip (y/n)'s thigh and she looks at him with flushed cheeks.
"I was thinking darling-"
"-that never ends well with you Billy." Max snickers and he flips her off.
"Shut up shitbird." she sticks her tongue at him playfully and (y/n) smiles at how the siblings were comfortable with each other now. "I wanted to take you on a date tomorrow." Billy stops at a red light, looking over at his love as she takes the disguise off. He finally was able to see her, see her bright smile and the excitement in her eyes.
"I would love to Billy." (y/n) beams and he swoons, leaning up to hold her cheek. God, the things she did that made him melt for her.
"Can I come?" Max blurts out and the adults look back at her.
"No." Billy snaps and she rolls her eyes, leaning back against the seat with a huff.
"Max, you and me can have a girl's date tomorrow morning, help me get ready for my date with your brother. How about that?" the redhead nods eagerly and (y/n) looks back at Billy who rolled his eyes. "What time love?"
"How about at 7?"
"Perfect. Can't wait for tomorrow!" (y/n) clasps her hands together and Billy leaned over to kiss her cheek before driving again.
"You're so adorable, you know that?"
"And you're my softie." (y/n) retorts back, smirking as she sees Billy's ears turn red as he clears his throat and look away.
"Oh my god! She made you blush!" Max cackles, seeing her big tough brother all mushy and blushy for his girlfriend. "Billy Hargrove, the supposed man blushing at a few words! (y/n) you're amazing!"
"Don't mind her. You may be my big softie but you are also my tough and sexy boyfriend." (y/n) whispers in Billy's ear, seeing him smirk at her.
Oh, he really was going to show her tough and sexy tomorrow night.
