Three centuries into the future of America, a prosperous modern day kingdom grew from the ashes of war. Merindal Kingdom had grown in strength through all the life and death throughout the years. But to some people, strong can seem weak, and weak looks strong. A strong kingdom is a kingdom that does not seek war, but instead seeks peace. To King Felix Lexort, violence was the answer. He didn't used to be that way. He was a loving, kind king like the many before him, raising two beautiful children. His wife was hardly seen, suffering from a severe forgetful illness. The young boy, Evan Lexort, favored by his father, was growing up to be future king. The young girl, Magnolia Lexort, a beautiful princess who was practically raised by maids and servants.

When teenage Prince Evan became very ill, the King went extra lengths to try to save him, finding the most skilled healers in the kingdom, but not one could do a thing to save the Prince, for they all knew the sickness had sentenced the boy to death.
