Chapter 2

A/N: Let's continue shall we..

(Y/n) found himself submerged in murky water, the world around him blurred yet strangely familiar. He floated effortlessly in the warm water, as he looked up, he could see the moon, its pale light piercing through the top of the water casting an ethereal glow.

In this dreamlike state, (Y/n)'s thoughts drifted to his parents. The memories were painful, a constant reminder of the chaos and neglect that filled his home. His father, lost to alcohol, and his mother, consumed by drugs and alcohol, they seemed to harbor nothing but disdain for him. He felt like an unwanted burden, a constant source of disappointment.

(Y/n): I can't keep living like this. Was it my fault for being born.. who knows?'

He thought to himself as he floated there for a little bit longer, his mind wandered to Rias. Her crimson red hair and beautiful blue ocean-like eyes. He remembered the way she looked at him, the day before with a kindness, understanding, with a hint of curiosity, something that he rarely experienced.

Then in his dream, she appeared before him, her hair flowing within the water and her eyes opening to meet his. Just as their gazes locked, (Y/n) jolted awake, staring up at his ceiling. He sighed deeply, the weight of his reality settling back in. But the memory of Rias's eyes lingered, giving him a thought that maybe, just maybe, things could change and Rias would be the cause of that change. His thought was disrupted by a loud thud coming from the stairs knowing it was either his mother or father.

(Y/n): I hate this... I need something to change...

He could already hear the muffled voices of his parents arguing in the living room downstairs. With a heavy sigh, (Y/n) swung his legs over the side of the bed, stood up, stretching his muscles then got dressed for school.

As he made his way to the kitchen, the usual smell of stale alcohol and smoke hit him. His parents were slumped at the table, their eyes bloodshot and their expressions sour. His mother was the first to notice him.

Yuki: Look who's finally up.

she sneered, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

(Y/n): Good morning to you too mom.

Yuki: Don't call me that, you woke up late and what the hell happened to your face?

(Y/n): Just tripped and cut my face against some flimsy wood.

(Y/n) rolled his eyes as it was still early enough for him to make something quick and still get to school on time, but he knew where the cut came from it wouldn't change anything if he told the truth anyways.

Hiroshi: Do you have any money (Y/n), your poor dad needs it.

His father demanded, not even bothering with a greeting. (Y/n)'s heart sank. He had been saving up what little he could for months, but he knew deep down it was no use.

(Y/n): Ask mom.. I don't have any.

He lied, trying to keep his voice steady. But his father wasn't buying it. He stood up, towering over (Y/n), his eyes narrowing.

Hiroshi: Don't you dare lie to me boy. Hand it over.

He growled, grabbing (Y/n) by his collar.

(Y/n) clenched his fists, trying to stand his ground.

(Y/n): No.. your grown get your own.

he protested, but his father glared more harshly as he wasn't listening.

Hiroshi: So you're a man now huh..?

With a swift motion, he threw (Y/n) into the fridge. Before (Y/n) could get up Hiroshi kicked him in the gut, stomped on his chest. Hiroshi hovered over his son reeling back a punch only for (Y/n) to maneuver and elbow his dad in the nose.

That was the mistake

(Y/n) did it off instinct not really wanting to raise a hand to his own father but blind rage consumed Hiroshi

(Y/n): Dad I'm..

Now (Y/n) was picked up and slammed into the cold kitchen floor then was put into a headlock by his Dad. Yuki on the other hand cheering, (Y/n) struggled to breathe his vision darkened. Hiroshi reached into (Y/n)'s pocket and pulled out his wallet then took out the crumpled bills, shoving them into his own pocket.

Yuki: You ungrateful brat.. After everything we have done for you.

His mother spat, her words slurring. (Y/n) was still on the ground trying to catch his breath as he stood up.

The argument escalated quickly right after, voices rising and tempers flaring. (Y/n) tried to reason with them, but it was no use. His father, shoved him hard, sending him crashing into the wall. Pain shot through his shoulder as he slumped to the floor.

Hiroshi: Get out of my sight, you disgust me, you always want to learn things the hard way. Me and your mother want nothing to do with you.

his father snarled, turning away. (Y/n) took a moment to catch his breath yet again, his body trembling. He knew he had to get up and go to school, but the weight of his reality pressed heavily on him. With a deep breath, he pushed himself up, grabbed his bag, and headed out the door, hoping the day ahead would offer some semblance of escape.

As (Y/n) walked to school, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.

(Y/n): 'Why is my life like this, why am I not good enough to my own flesh and blood, why do I continue to love them but when I need love or acceptance I get none of it.'

He wondered, kicking a pebble on the sidewalk. The chill of the morning air matched the heaviness in his heart, and he couldn't shake the feeling of hopelessness.

He thought about his parents, their faces twisted in anger, and how their words cut deeper than any physical blow. He was no stranger to this familiar feeling, the ache of loneliness.

(Y/n): 'Why can't they see how hard it is for me?'

He remembered the dreams he had once harbored, the aspirations that felt so far away now.

(Y/n): 'Am I destined to live like this forever?'

He questioned, his pace slowing as he neared the gates of Kuoh Academy. The school loomed ahead, a place that promised a glimpse of normality, but often felt tainted by his home life.

As he stepped through the gates, he took a deep breath, trying to push the darkness aside.

(Y/n): 'Let's just get through the day... I'll show them one day.. they'll regret it, I'll make sure of it.'

he thought, clenching his fists. With that flicker of hope.

At Kuoh Academy was buzzing with excitement as the girls couldn't stop fawning over Kiba Yuuto, the school's handsome Prince. His dashing looks and chivalrous demeanor made him the center of attention, and whispers of admiration followed him wherever he went.

Meanwhile, (Y/n) was walking through the school corridors, his mind clouded with thoughts of the altercation he had with his father the previous night and this morning. The argument had left him with bruises hidden beneath his shirt and a weight on his shoulders. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice Kiba coming from the opposite direction until it was too late.

With a sudden jolt, (Y/n) collided with Kiba, scattering their belongings across the floor.

(Y/n): Watch it!

(Y/n)'s voice echoed then his heart raced as he realized whom he had bumped into. Looks from students in the entire room looked their direction. (Y/n) stammered, quickly kneeling to gather the scattered items. Kiba, ever the gentleman, smiled reassuringly.

(Y/n): Shit.. I'm sorry.

Kiba: It's alright really, we just didn't see each other, it was an accident.

he said, bending down to help.

As (Y/n) hastily picked up not only his things but Kiba's as well, he kept his head down, trying to hide his bruised face. He handed Kiba's books back, mumbling another apology before hurrying off.

In his rush, (Y/n) didn't notice that he had dropped a piece of paper. Kiba picked it up, curious. It was a beautifully detailed drawing of a dragon, every scale and feature meticulously crafted. Kiba's eyes widened in admiration at the talent displayed in the artwork. He looked up, but (Y/n) had already disappeared into the crowd, leaving Kiba holding the intricate drawing and wondering about the story behind it.

Rias and Akeno walked into the school, their presence commanding attention as always. They noticed Kiba standing near the lockers, intently examining a piece of paper. As they got closer, they saw that it was a stunningly detailed drawing of a dragon.

Rias: Thats beautiful, Where did you get that Kiba?

She remarked, her eyes lingering on the intricate artwork.

Kiba looked up, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Kiba: Well it belongs to a boy with blonde hair, yellow eyes, and glasses. He accidentally bumped into me earlier and dropped it. He seemed to be in his own bed as we bumped into each other and he hurried off before I could give it back.

Rias's eyes widened in recognition.

Rias: That sounds like (Y/n) I saw him yesterday.

She took the drawing from Kiba, her mind already piecing together the events that led to this moment.

Akeno: But how did it end up with you?

She asked with curiosity.

Kiba explained the encounter in a little bit more detail, describing how (Y/n) had been lost in thought and seemed to be carrying some invisible weight.

Kiba: Like I said he was in such a rush to leave I didn't get a chance to talk to him properly.

Akeno smiled softly, finding the situation endearing.

Akeno: It sounds like there's more to (Y/n) than just being cute and shy. Maybe there's something else going on with him.

Rias nodded thoughtfully, her mind already working on a plan to approach (Y/n).

Rias: We'll find out soon enough. For now, let's make sure he gets his drawing back, then we can move from there.

she said with a determined look in her eye

As the school day dragged on, (Y/n) felt the weight of anxiety pressing down on him. He was definitely on edge, his mind racing with thoughts of his parents and the chaos at home. During lunch, he slipped away to his secluded spot, hoping for a moment of peace.

Just as he started to eat, he looked up and saw Rias standing above him, her presence seemed to be lighting up the gloomy atmosphere. His heart raced as he started overthinking, he didn't want any trouble, especially after the awkward incident with one of her club members this morning.

(Y/n): Hey, sorry about bumping into one of your club members. Today just isn't a good day.

He stammered, trying to keep it cool. But Rias just smiled, that warm, genuine smile that made everything feel a little less heavy.

To his surprise, she handed back his artwork, he didn't even know it was gone.

Rias: You've got some serious talent, you know?

she said, her eyes sparkling with sincerity. (Y/n) felt a rush of warmth at her compliment, a rare moment of validation that made him forget his worries, even if it was only for a second.

(Y/n): Thanks, I appreciate it.

he replied with a small smile forming onto his face. He was about to tell her bye but she ended up staying for a little bit longer so (Y/n) wasn't by himself for the remainder of the period. Maybe things weren't so hopeless after all. Once (Y/n) looked away Rias slipped a flyer in his student jacket pocket before acting normal.

After lunch with Rias everything seemed to be pretty normal for (Y/n) after everything but it was time to head home

(Y/n) wandered through the park, lost in thought, when he suddenly felt a strange energy envelop him. Before he knew it, he had walked into a barrier.

(Y/n): What the hell is this?

he muttered, his eyes widening as he saw a fallen angel floating menacingly in the air.

(Y/n): What the hell is that!? Is that the damn perv!?

(Y/n) spotted Issei nearby, and without thinking, he tackled him just in time to dodge a deadly light spear aimed at Issei, not noticing the hole in his leg. The fallen angel woman growled in frustration as they disappeared into the bushes.

(Y/n): Let's get out of here, We'll leave through the park's side entrance. I'll do my best to distract it then meet you there.

(Y/n) whispered urgently to Issei.

Summoning his courage, (Y/n) bolted from their hiding spot, charging at the fallen angel. He landed a solid punch, surprising the fallen angel. For a moment, it seemed like he might actually hold his own. But the victory was short-lived; the fallen angel retaliated with a small light spear that pierced (Y/n)'s abdomen, then proceeded to grab his arm and sent him crashing through several trees. He landed painfully in front of the water fountain, his vision blurring and blood coming from his mouth.

???: What a shame... You're a good fighter and really cute, but unfortunately, you got in the way.

The Fallen Angel taunted before turning her attention to Issei, who was also struggling to recover. With a cold expression, she shot Issei in through the chest, leg, and stomach, leaving both boys gravely injured and fighting for their lives.

(Y/n)'s breathing became shallow and his body became cold

(Y/n): ''Aw man.. this is how I go out huh.. trying to save a damn pervert who didn't even run! I guess what really sucks is that my parents would be better off without me...'

His hand fell next to him not being able to move it.

(Y/n): Hopefully in the next life things are different, when I asked for a change this isn't what I wanted, at least I got to speak to Rias.. she's was a very sweet and genuine person with her ocean like eyes and that crimson red hair.

Before he noticed a flyer flew out of his pocket and a seal emerged summoning a lady-like figure who spoke out-

???: Not today.. I will not let either of you die here.
