personality
Sugar, spice, and everything nice. That's what everyone thinks Madeline is made of, and they're not too far off. Madeline is beautiful, inside and out. With a smile that lights up a room and kind eyes, it's easy to tell why people like her. She is naturally kind and caring, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support wherever it is needed. She is constantly looking out for others and makes it her mission to make sure that everyone is okay, even if she's not. She would give someone the shirt off her back if it came down to it. Madeline has a cheerful and charismatic air that makes her comfortable around pretty much everyone, and makes a lot of people trust her. For the most part, she is trust worthy. She'll keep your secrets no matter what. At the same time, there are definitely parts of herself that she hides. She's great at keeping the secrets of other people, but she's also gotten good at keeping her own. She experiences a lot of self-doubt and often overthinks a lot of what she does, no matter how small. When she doesn't think things through, it can get her into some really sticky situations. The worst part is that she feels like she can't always talk about this. She has to figure everything out by herself because she got herself into this mess so she needs to find the solution, no matter how scared she is. And if she tells anyone about it, her doubt would come to light, and what then? Madeline is book smart, but also has a great emotional quotient. While some people may see this as a weakness, she views it as a strength. It helps her connect with others and no matter how she may be feeling, she will always toughen up when she needs to, either to save face or to help others. She's sweet inside and out, but never underestimate her when something goes wrong, because she will do anything to make things right, even if she has to sacrifice something in the process.

background
While Madeline's family is perfect now, there have definitely been some bumps in the road. Madeline's father met her mother when they were in their first years of college. Their connection was instant and after just a few years of dating, the two got married and moved from Corsicana, Texas, to Dallas. Together, they opened up a small bakery and lived in the apartment above it. They always knew they wanted children, but it took two years of trying and one miscarriage before Madeline was born. She was their little angel, everything they could have hoped for in a daughter. From a young age she was kind and gentle, always looking out for others and trying to make people happy. It was a pleasant surprise when her mother got pregnant again when Maddy was six, bringing her younger brother, Jackson, into the world. They had always wanted another child, and having two was basically a miracle. They were happy for a few years: business was going well, the children were healthy, and everything seemed fine. Then, when Madeline was twelve, her grandfather got sick. Her entire family packed up their things and moved to Lakewood, Connecticut, leaving their bakery behind to go live with her grandparents. Her grandfather passed away when she was in her sophomore year of high school. In the following years, her grandmother remained with them, her parents reopened their bakery (this time in a new location, of course), and Madeline excelled in school, running for leadership positions and joining clubs and teams. Now, she is more than ready to go off to college and study to become a vet.

other
likes and dislikes
likes: Cats (she loves all animals, but cats have a special place in her heart), gold jewelry, white chocolate, rock music, guitar, painting, flowers, astronomy, feminist literature, blue nail polish, sewing, Spring, blueberry pie, her family and friends, waking up early, History, and her little brother.
dislikes: Country music, doing her hair (it takes way too much time), spiders and snakes, cotton candy, snow, Winter, clowns, planes, getting interrupted, and Chemistry (she's amazing at Biology but Chemistry? Not so much).
fun facts
- Madeline was diagnosed with Dyslexia when she was nine. She still loves school and loves learning, but it definitely makes her somewhat insecure about her intelligence due to how hard school was for her when she was younger.
- She has a cat named Sunniva Gerald Arden II. She just calls him Sunny for short.
- Madeline has know she wants to be a vet since she was ten. She's loved animals all her life and often spends her weekends volunteering at shelters. She's also taken countless first aid courses. (Just because she wants to be a vet doesn't mean she shouldn't learn some human first aid!)
- Because of how long she lived in Texas, she still has her accent and it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. She doesn't mind it that much, though she knows it surprises a lot of people when she speaks for the first time.
- She speaks fluent sign language. Her grandfather started learning ASL after her family moved in, and she decided to learn along with him. It's not uncommon to see her signing to herself when she's studying for an exam - that and listening to recorded lessons have become really helpful study strategies for her over the years.
- Her grandma taught her how to sew when she was younger and she had a real knack for it. A lot of her clothes have little personal touches as a result.
- She did dance for years and though she doesn't take as many classes anymore, she still really enjoys it.
- Madeline visits Texas pretty much every summer for a couple of weeks. She loves her current town, but she still really misses her hometown and her friends back home.
- She learned how to play piano when she was a kid but has pretty much forgotten it all. If you want to hear a shaky rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb," she's your gal.
- Her parents may be fantastic cooks and bakers, but she is terrible. Do not let her into the kitchen unless you want to head the fire alarm go off.
- She is currently working at a veterinarian office to get credit towards her program.
