First Major Step
Sharping knife against steel, the only sound to fill the quiet air as a dark aura hung low.
Civilians stirred away from the noise as the shadows fell black against the lamp street lights. A giggle, one that could have God's cowering before it, started to arise from the darkness. It got louder and louder each passing second, becoming unbearable to keep contained. A loud bellow of laughter erupted from the alley, frightening the civilians away from the darkness that threatened death upon them. The laughter soon came to a halt, knife on steel stopping with it. A figure cloaked in shadows bounded up the closed in buildings, soon making a streak over the city's people. The thudding of feet, almost inaudible in the still nights air.
'Tonight's the night we all witness a monster's demise. I won't let these people suffer any more under this creature's wrath. To save the people. To bring them into the truth that is our world. The corrupt society in which we live. No matter how long it takes, I will show it to the people so we can start anew. No longer shall they live under the web of lies the government created. Or under the hollow promises of sunshine and rainbows. But the cold truth that's quick to throw under the rug. My, no, our first major step in this. Destroy one of the largest stepping stones the people hold onto to cross to the sunshine path. One crack in the dam is all that's needed to let the water run dry.'
Pupils turning to slits under the mask as claws flexed in and out. Tail thrashing and ears twitching. The adrenaline of what's about to come was unbearable. A smirk lay hidden as the stars and full moon glistened down upon the cloaked figure. He was ready. The first major step. Plans were finally in motion. After 6 years of planning his murder, Midoriya Izuku was finally about to attain revenge for his family.

Muscles aching, bones crushing, veins on the brink of bursting. All that was felt was pain all throughout his body. Searing hot pain that prevented him from moving. How he wished this would end. Headache pounding, eyes dilating as they tried to focus on anything. Black started to dot his fuzzy vision, blurs if colours against the black mixed. He faded in and out of consciousness as his body felt like giving in. His mind clicked back to earlier that day, when Shadow had broken into his room. The one question roamed around his already aching head. 'Are you ready to watch Endevor die on camera?'
Was he ready to watch his own father die? Sure, he hated the man with all his heart. But, was he ready to watch him die? Different emotions swirled around his aching heart as he heaved out shallow breaths. A sudden sound caught him off guard. Against his body's protests, he tilted his head to the side, looking over at the same figure from morning.
"S-Shad-ow...?" His body finally gave in, eyes falling shut as his body shut down.
Shadow has watched from a distance, filming the brutal beatings from father to son. Gathering more evidence against the man he resented. Watching as Shouto fell unconscious, a pang of sympathy for his washed over Shadow. He searched round for a first aid kit. Breaking many different locks on many wooden cupboards, searching through each and every one. His eyes finally landed on the kit. He yanked it out and rushed to the boy, kneeling down beside him as he opened the kit. Needing to reach all bruises he could, Shadow removed Shouto's shirt, a wave of anger flashing over Shadow's hidden face. He got to work, treating the worst of the wounds first, the third degree burns.
"I promised that never again shall you go through this pain. Endevor will die today by my hands or else more pain will be inflicted. I can't let that happen," Shadow murmured, wrapping up Shouto's arms in bandages that started to turn crimson as soon as white cloth lay over the wounds. "I'm sorry you ever went through this. You'll be safe once he's gone."
Once the wounds were treated, Shadow pulled Shouto's shirt back over the bandages. He picked him up and left through the window he came, jumping up a tree and onto the window sill of the dual boy's room. He opened the window and entered carefully, trying not to make much sound. He placed Shouto down on his bed, making sure to not hurt the boy more. Shadow sat down on the comfy bed, sinking into the soft mattress. He started to mumble, bringing a hand to his mask as he muttered out his plan. His voice was slightly muffled due to the mask. Shouto started to stir in his sleep, waking to the comfiness of his bed. The mumbling of the cloaked figure disturbed him slightly, though he found strange comfort with Shadow's presence.
Sitting up straight, he tapped Shadow's shoulder, catching a few words: 'tonight', 'murder', 'save' and 'truth'. Shadow turned to the dual haired boy, a hidden smile on his face. Shouto than realised that, he didn't feel as much pain as he did before.
"Hey Shadow. What're you doing here? I thought you'd be setting up for this 'live murder' thing." Shouto said, confusion lacing his tone.
"I am. I just decided to check up on you for a bit, see how you were going. And from what I saw, I'm guessing not to well, huh?" Shadow replied, placing a hand to Shouto's head and ruffling his dual coloured hair. "How you feelin' now, Shou?"
"I'm fine- wait. S-Shou?" Shouto stumbled on his words.
Shadow clasped his hands together. "Well then!" He jumped up into his feet, walking to the window and turning to Shouto. "I should get going. Be prepared to witness this all happen right in your house's dojo. Heal up, k?" He saluted Shouto with 2 fingers before jumping out the window.
Confusion washed over Shouto's face as he watched Shadow leave. He sat there for a few moments more before it clicked in. His father was dying tonight in the dojo. He jumped up, feeling a jolt through his legs as he landed on his feet. He headed towards his door, yanking it open and walking down the stairs, heading to the dojo. He walked in and searched around. A camera hidden in the shadows. A portable projector placed carefully on the ground, most likely filled to the brim with all the evidence pinned against Enji. Shouto looked around some more, finding nothing else.
"I'd go hide in a corner or something if I were you," Shadow's voice flooded around the room, causing Shouto to tense up for a moment. "Also, I'll be bringing your siblings in here two. Take them with you. This will all be going down soon."
Moments passed before the dojo's doors slammed open again, Fuyumi and Natsuo were pushed in, the doors snapping shut again. Shouto grabbed his stunned siblings hands, dragging them to a corner as a sheet of metal shot down from the ceiling. The metal turned transparent, allowing the Todoroki's to see what was about to go down. Before either older sibling could ask any questions, a loud roar of rage burst throughout the house. They started to shake, fear crawling throughout their bones. Enji stormed throughout the house, yelling out his children's names. Finding nothing, he stormed down to the dojo. He slammed the doors open and walked in, seeing the metal sheets barricading him where he was. The sound of metal clanging to the ground sounded behind the flaming hero.
Snapping around, he slammed his fists into the metal. He heard a switch flick on. A light shone down upon him and a cloaked figure standing by the camera. They turned it on, broadcasting it to the whole city. "Welcome everyone! Sorry to interrupt you all. You can address me as Shadow. I have been meaning to do this for awhile now. Interviewing the pro hero Endevor!" Shadow introduced, swinging his arms wide towards the camera. "Now then. I have a quick question for the viewers. Exactly how much do you know about this hero? I'm guess you'd all have around the same answers. He's the no. 2 hero that saves civilians and takes down villains left and right."
"I'll give you that. But, there's also the fact that, if faced between catching the villain or saving civilians in danger, he'd go for the villain. And before you all grab your torches and pitchforks, take a moment to recoil fights he's been in, I'm sure you'd realise that I'm right. Endervor, the no. 2 hero, rather then saving the civilians he's meant to save, would fight the villain and cause even more damage and kill more civilians then saved. And this is only the start. Look no further than his home life. How he treats his family. Parents are there to help their children along the path they choose. But not Endevor," Shadow pressed the power on button for the projector, a video of Enji's beatings being displayed.
"This is what's hidden from the media. What's hidden under the title 'no. 2 hero'. Beating his children. Sending their mother away from them. The pain they've been threw all because this man wants power. More power than he has. Enough to claim the no. 1 spot!" The projection changed to a fight between Endevor and a villain. Civilians were trapped under rubble all around him, calling out for help as they struggled to free themselves. But Endevor didn't spare them a second glance. Focusing more on the villain in front of him.
"It's a heroes job to stop villains and bring justice-"
"It's a heroes job to save people," Shadow cit Endevor off, an icy glare hidden by his mask. "A hero is there to bring peace of mind to the people they protect. Their main priority is the civilians around them. To protect them and the next generations to come and take your places when you can't fight anymore. Heroes fight for justice, yes. It's their job to stop villains and apprehend them. But heroes main priority is the civilians they protect from harm," Shadow turned to the camera again. The projector flicked to a video filmed 6 years ago. The very same night Shadow had lost his parents to Endevors flames. "To save those who can't fend for themselves when stuck in certain situations. Something I know first hand isn't what you do."
"Ha! Don't make me laugh," Endevors words struck Shadow. He turned to the blazing man, his confusion evident in his posture. "People who can't save themselves are useless to society. A heroes job is to reticule villains from the streets to keep these cities safe. If people can't save themselves, there's no use for them to be here. If they die, they die. Society has no use for the useless."
Anger struck through Shadow as he glared through his mask at the man he hated most in this world. "So you're saying that the 20% population of quirkless, and people with, what you deem useless quirks die, it's their own fault for being useless?" His blood boiled as rage seethed out. "Everyone that has a useless quirk can die for all you care? You really sicken me to my core," Shadow turned to projection off, facing the camera again. "This man is the no. 2 hero. This man is someone you praise and look up to. This man is someone who you've probably want to become! He's cause more damage and deaths than saves. Tears his family apart. Could care less about saving you. If in a life or death situation with fans, he'd save his own sorry ass instead of helping those he's meant to protect."
"And it's about time someone took care of it all. About time some real needed justice was served. For 6 years I've watched this man cause havoc to those sworn by heroes to protect. For 6 years have I watch the destruction I never thought 1 man could accomplish. I'll finally be putting all of this to a stop."
Shadow turned from the camera to Endevor, taking a remote from his cloak's pockets and pressing the red button present in the centre. Chains shot out from the metal sheets and floor boards, chaining the hero where he was. His flame cut off, the chains binding him to his spot. As he struggled to free himself, Shadow took a knife from his belt. He stepped closer, his feet almost inaudible over the trashing and clanking of chains. "You fucking brat!" Shadow leaped up, baring his knife. "Goodnight now~". He slashed it through Endevors throat. The hero gagged, chocking on his blood as it bubbles up and out of the wound and from his mouth. He fell to his knees, blood soaking the wooden flooring.
Shadow kicked him to his back, swinging his knife around as excess blood sprayed all around. He leaned over the hero, watching as his anger filled eyes lit with equal amounts of fear. A laugh echoed throughout the room as Shadow brought his knife up. "You has a good reign, Endevor. But now, it's lights out." He stabbed the knife into Enji's heart, a chocked scream of rage and fear sounding from the dying man as he soon fell limp. His blood ran dry as his body fell cold. Eyes rolling to the back of his head. He was gone. Shadow grabbed the knife, yanking it out and carving in 'M.I'. He grabbed a cloth from his pocket, wiping the knife off before placing both items back. He turned to the camera, walking up a few feet.
"Now gone is the no. 2 hero. Who'll be next? Neither of us know," Shadow giggled. "That's all I can show. I'll be seeing you all later. Bye bye now~"
