Jaime's Selection: The Queen's Thoughts

Lady Margaret: "Lady Margaret, though can be entirely unladylike at times, being entirely unaware of the to-do's and not-to-do's of regality, is learning quite quickly. She knows when she's made a mistake, and owns up to it. Still, when owning up to it, she tends to stumble about her words and become smaller than who she truly is. She could use a little bit of training and some confidence-building; however, I see potential for success in this Lady. She may do very well as future queen of this nation."

Lady Juniper: "Lady Juniper came off as quite confusing. Her persona seemed to shift quite drastically upon meeting me. She acted quite differently when first meeting my God son. Though she seems like a polite young woman regardless, I am unsure as to what to think when addressing her as possible future queen of this nation, for I am unsure of who Lady Juniper truly is. I am slightly suspicious of the Lady because of it."

Lady Charvi: "Though Lady Charvi does not know the mannerisms required to be queen quite yet, she learns quite quickly. She seems to convey a good heart, carrying a soft spot towards children, their health and education in particular. However, she seems to be quite idealistic and a bit hard-headed in her ways. She has ideas for change, and fantastic ones at that; however, the ways in which she would like to implement them are quite unrealistic. If her stubbornness gets in the way, she may find herself in a rough position if she were to ever become queen. Still, the potential for success is there regardless, if she can learn to trust in my God son's more in-depth knowledge of how to make the country run smoothly."

Lady Clarissa: "Lady Clarissa was certainly an interesting Selected to have met. Whilst given the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to be a queen, she decided, instead, to delve into my personal life. She's a bit quirky, a bit too pressing into personal matters, and lacks confidence in herself. Still, she was the most polite of all the Selected I've met thus far, and even offered to pour my tea. As for the possibility of her being a future queen, the Lady has a lot to learn, and a lot of confidence to be gained, in order for her to pull it off successfully."

Lady Hunter: "I wasn't quite sure what to think of Lady Hunter. She's either lackadaisical or observant. She seems respectful and courteous and had her words well-put-together in front of me, though I am not confident that she is that way all of the time. When asked what she thought of my God son, Prince Nathaniel, she'd nothing more to say but that he was a good listener, which only leads me to believe that she's a bit of a talker, with not much to say. That being said, she comes off confident in herself, which I consider to be the first thing needed when becoming Queen. Self-confidence is key; however, too much can be detrimental as well. Hopefully, her over-confidence doesn't cause trouble if she does indeed become queen. She still has quite a lot to learn. She has a strong passion for the nation, though, and is willing to fight hard for her people as well, which will serve her well as a possible future queen."

Lady Helena: "Lady Helena did not show up for her scheduled interview time. Though I would like to believe that something important came up and she has a great excuse for not meeting with a Queen, I can't say her first impression to me was much of a good one, all things considered. A Queen should not be late to any scheduled events, if it can be helped."

Lady Amorette: "Lady Amorette was a very interesting Lady to meet, indeed. She acted like a Lady, and attempted to remain respectful most of the time; however, her self-confidence suffers tremendously. She does not have her words well-put-together whatsoever. Though I would have liked to have gotten to know Lady Amorette, her overly nervousness took away from the overall experience. I still do not believe I know her well enough to say whether or not I think she would become a good queen, due to her nervousness; however, I /can/ say that the Lady's confidence is going to need a tremendous boost in order for her to be successful. Furthermore, she does not seem to take my advice into consideration. I would like to remain optimistic. I am not entirely sure if it is just because she was overwhelmed by the situation or if she genuinely is too hard-headed to care. It could have even been because she was tired. Still, she didn't seem to care much for my opinion. She'll have a lot more to learn if she is looking to be successful as Queen."

Lady Anastasia: "Lady Anastasia puts a lot of thought in her mannerisms in front of me. I do not think there was a single moment in which she was not attempting to show courtly etiquette and, though it wasn't quite all perfect, she did a job well done. Only a few days of training would prepare her for the do's and don't's of courtly ettiquette. She is very obviously well-read and considers others' points of views before making rash decisions, which is an essential quality of a future queen. Though she is well-read in many topics concerning the nations' affairs, I am a bit concerned with the reliability of her sources. She might have been teaching herself all of the wrong things. I haven't been able to tell quite yet. Still, her overall interest in the affairs of the nation is a fantastic asset to have as a future queen. She doesn't quite have her words put together in the way a queen should, however, a lot of her explanations turning out quite confusing. She, too, didn't seem to take my advice too seriously. She seems quite stubborn, idealistic, and hard-headed, which may get in the way of being a good future queen. She is not quite aware of the hardships many of the people of the nation go through, and certainly doesn't understand the hardships that come with being queen. There will be a lot for her to learn, of course, in that department, if she was to live up to her great potential as possible future queen. Still, the potential is there."

Lady Aurora: "Lady Aurora, like the rest of them, could use a bit more training in terms of the do's and don't's of the mannerisms of royalty. Still, she was as polite as she knew to be, and she did fairly decently considering she hadn't had any training. She comes off as confident, at first, and perhaps a bit hard-headed and she fairs well under pressure. She speaks eloquently, with thought behind her word choice. She seems quite level-headed. She was perhaps the only Selected that seemed to truly take my advice into consideration, and even asked a few very relevant questions. After a while of speaking with her, her confidence seemed to fade quite drastically, which is a bit concerning. And, though she came off as level-headed to begin with, this, too, seemed to fade as we spoke. She seemed quite idealistic and dreamy-headed throughout the middle of our conversation, but moved quickly back to being a realist and level-headed after a few minutes, leaving me quite confused as to who Lady Aurora truly is. Still, taking all of this into account, I believe Lady Aurora is quite trainable in the ways of being Queen and would likely fair quite decently, with the help of my God son, my husband, and I."

Advice for the Selected: "I would like to know who you are. I noticed several of you acted differently in front of me than you likely would in general. Your backs were straighter, you were a bit too nervous, whatever it was, it wasn't you, which I consider to be highly ridiculous. Forget mannerisms for the time being. I can train you in the art of regality later. For now, though, I am looking to see you for you and make judgements based off of the true you. I would like to know you, so that I can see what you might realistically be like in front of the prince. Be confident, but not cocky. Don't speak unless you have something real to say. Think before you act or speak, of course. Overall, each and every one of you has the ability to bring something different and useful to the table. Each and every one of you would likely be able to make a good queen, based off of what I have seen thus far, with a bit of training from my God son, my husband, and I. Still, you all have a long way to go. Keep an open mind and an open heart. Though finding a good Queen is quite important, above anything, I would like my God son to find happiness in his marriage. I am here to ensure just that. Keep that in mind. I'm but a mother here to help my God son. I am human and would like to see you as such as well, believe it or not. I can teach you formalities as time goes along. For now, be you."
