19. Flustered

Tyler made his way to the door of Josh's condo and pressed the doorbell. Josh had told him they were just staying at his place for the date which meant Tyler couldn't get him to buy anything for him which kind of sucked but at least he could have alone time with Josh.

Due to his hookup from the bar a few nights ago he has to wear a turtle neck again. Josh said he looked cute though so he didn't think the blonde suspected anything. Tyler had been holding a cold spoon and applying his aloe lotion to all the hickies he got and they had disappeared considerably but he still wasn't completely safe yet.

He waited a few more seconds before the door opened to reveal a smiling Josh. Tyler almost gushed at the sight. He was literally just in black jeans and a shirt but he was wearing his glasses and Tyler loved him in glasses even though he's only seen it the one time he brought Josh lunch. "Hey," the blonde greeted. "You look cute."

"I know. You look cute too," Tyler grinned, walking in. However, he stopped when he passed through the doorway, holding in a gasp as he took in Josh's condo. It was insane how nice it was. It was insane how opulent Josh was. He turned the man. "Nice place."

"Thanks," he chuckled. "I'm not here very often. I think today's the longest I've been home not sleeping  in years."

Tyler couldn't fathom that. He couldn't understand why Josh would want to work that much. He has an empire. He can get people to do whatever he wants or needs.

He shook his head slightly, ignoring the thoughts. "So what are we doing?"

"Well," Josh grabbed his hand, taking him into the kitchen. "I was thinking instead of ordering food we could make it."

Tyler saw the ingredients for tacos laid out on the kitchen counter. He internally groaned. He didn't know how the fuck to cook. He made Brendon do everything for him. "We're making dinner?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah!" Josh replied excitedly, going over to the sink and washing his hands. As he pumped soap onto his hands he looked back at Tyler. His face fell. "What? What's wrong?"

Tyler bit his lip slightly, hoping to get out of this with the art of seduction. "I don't know how to cook," he whined.

Josh laughed. "Neither do I. I've used this kitchen less than a dozen times in the five years I've lived here. We'll figure it out together. It can't be that hard."

Tyler suppresses a groan. He didn't want to put the effort in but he didn't want to lose Josh. "Okay," he nodded, going over to the sink as Josh was drying his hands off.

After they both washed their hands, they stood at the counter and stared at the ingredients. "I guess we start then?" Josh spoke, grabbing the ground beef and putting it in the skillet. He turned it on and watched as it began to cook.

The two made conversation as the meat cooked, Josh breaking it up and moving it around as they did so.

"How was work?" Tyler asked as Josh grabbed him a knife and set the lettuce and tomato by the cutting board.

"It was alright," Josh shrugged, pouring the seasoning on. "It felt weird to leave early but I went to the store and took a shower and had a minute to breathe. It was nice."

"See?" Tyler hummed. "Taking the afternoon off was good for you. I'm so smart," he giggled. He felt arms wrap around his waist and gasped. Looking to the side he saw Josh smiling at him.

"Yes you are," he replied, pressing a kiss to Tyler's lips. The brunette melted into it and when he pulled away his cheeks felt warm. He was getting flustered and he never got flustered.

"Stop," he whined. "Go back over there I'm gonna cut myself if you distract me and a trip to the emergency room doesn't sound very romantic."

"I can agree with you there," Josh laughed.

They finished everything up and made their tacos before sitting down at the table. Josh looked wary and Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Are you alright?"

"This is just different," he replied. "I don't usually make dinner at home and have time to sit down and eat. I like it though. I like this," he grabbed Tyler's hand and the brunette found himself blushing again. He cleared his throat and willed his face to go back to normal. He couldn't be getting flustered over stupid domestic shit.

"I like this too," Tyler forced a smile on his face.

The continued eating and Josh began bringing the dishes to the counter. "I'm gonna get these washed and into the dishwasher real quick. You can go sit in the living room if you want."

"Okay," Tyler nodded. He began to walk off but Josh stopped him.

"Wait!" He turned around, a confused look on his face. "Cookie dough or mint chocolate chip?"

Tyler smiled. "What are you having?"

"Cookie dough."

"I'll have mint chocolate chip then so you can feed me bites of yours."

Josh laughed and Tyler giggled. He continued on into the living room and sat down. He almost moaned when he sat on the couch. It was like a cloud. A soft, fluffy, cloud. His couch at home was like a brick compared to Josh's.

About ten minutes later Josh was walking in with two bowls with spoons in them. He sat down on the couch and handed the bowl with green ice cream to Tyler. "Here you go," he smiled.

"Thanks," Tyler smiled back.

"Hey there's something I need to talk to you about," Josh began, taking a bite of ice cream. Tyler hummed in response and sat back, putting his socked feet in Josh's lap.

"What is it?" Tyler asked innocently, taking a bite of his ice cream.

"So I hired this girl Ashley yesterday," Josh began, taking a bite of his ice cream as well. "And she was flirting with me."

"Oh?" Tyler replied. He felt himself start to get annoyed. Some bitch was flirting with Josh? How the hell was he supposed to get what he wanted if other people went after Josh?

"Yeah. I had to tell her you were my boyfriend and she stopped," he continued, looking down.

"Oh!"

"Are you?" Josh looked at him, a defeated look on his face.

"What?"

"My boyfriend?" He anxiously bit his lip.

"Do you want me to be?"

"Yes," he nodded. "God, yes."

"Okay," Tyler smiled. "Then you're my boyfriend now."

The look of excitement on Josh's face was priceless. The moment Tyler used up all of his money and Josh found out would be hilarious.

Josh grabbed Tyler's ice cream and set both bowls on the coffee table. Tyler let out a surprised yelp when Josh pulled him into his lap. Josh laughed and pressed his lips to Tyler's. The brunette melted into it and tangled his hand in Josh's hair.

However, Josh began kissing down his jaw and that's when he panicked. Tyler pulled back and smiled softly, hoping he wasn't giving anything away. "Hey, I'm glad you want to be with me. It means a lot that I could help you figure shit out."

"I'm glad you want to be with me too," Josh grabbed both his hands.

Not wanting Josh to think anything was up, Tyler was the one to attach his lips this time. He began kissing down Josh's neck just like the older had moments before sucked on the skin just like that random guy at the bar did two nights before.

"Fuck," Josh gasped lightly.

Tyler pulled back and giggled, taking his thumb and brushing Josh's cheek with it. "You're so cute."

"You are too," he grinned. "Hey," he grabbed Tyler's hand again. "I've been meaning to ask you something and now that we're official I feel better asking... I know it's soon but I have to go on a business trip to California for a tech conference and I was wondering if you wanted to come with. Feel free to say no."

Tyler's eyes practically lit up. A free trip. To California. He grinned and nodded frantically, grabbing Josh's face and kissing him passionately. "Yes," he breathed out, resting his forehead on Josh's.

"Good," he pecked Tyler's lips one last time.

Everything was working out perfectly.
