Rey's Pov:

We walked over to the bed and Ben helped me to lay down.

"I am just going to do a simple check up to see how the baby is getting along and if you two are healthy." The droid said. I nodded and she started to turn on the equipment. "I am going to put this gel on your tummy to protect it from the machine that will allow us to see the baby."

"Okay." I replied.

"Will we be able to see the baby's gender?" Ben asked.

"Yes, I am pretty sure we will." Replied the nurse.

She rubbed the gel all over my abdomen, then took this strange wand and placed it on my stomach.

"What is that? And what does it do?" I asked curiously

"This is an ultrasound transducer. It allows us to see into your tummy and look at the baby." She replied holding up the object. She pointed to a small screen that was set up next to the bed. Ben and I watched it closely. He held my hand tightly while we were staring at the dark screen. After a few seconds, a black and white image of my stomach appeared on the screen. Inside we could see the baby. It was so tiny.

"Is that it?" Ben asked.

"Yes. That's the baby." Replied the doctor.

I watched the screen then turned to see Ben, who was at a loss for words as he stared at the screen. We were both in awe at the sight before us.

"Are you able to tell the gender?" He asked.

"Yes we are. Would you like to know it now? Or keep it as a surprise?" The nurse questioned.

"I'd for sure like to find out now." Ben replied with excitement. "Do you wanna know Rey?"

"I want to know. But I would prefer it if it was in a more special way. This is my first child after all." We both sat and pondered over what we should do until the nurse mentioned an idea.

"What if I find out the gender and only tell Sir. Kylo? He can then tell you in whatever special way you'd like."

"I like the sound of that." I replied.

"That sounds great to me." Ben added.

3 hours After the check up:

"Ben! Are you done yet?" I yelled. He had been in my bedroom for more than an hour now.

"Almost just one last thing." I heard him shout back. He finally stepped out of the room making sure I didn't peek inside.

"Well, Have you finished yet?" I asked slightly impatiently.

"Yes, now I have finished. Close your eyes and don't open them til I say so."

"Alright if you say so." I closed my eyes and felt Ben taking my hand. He gently pulled me into the room.

"Can I look now?"

"Almost." He said. "Okay, now you can open."

I opened my eyes and found my room covered in white star lights. In the center of the room there was a moon to add to the theme.

"Wow, this is so beautiful Ben, but how is this going to show me what gender the baby is?" I asked curiously.

"Right, now all the stars are white. However, on this moon here there is a ribbon. When you pull the ribbon it will make all the lights change colour and reveal the baby's gender." He explained.

"Wow. I can't believe you made all this. It's all so amazing. Thank you, Ben!"

"Tis' my pleasure." We walked over to the moon and I found the ribbon that was only ever so slightly hanging out of the bottom. I grabbed onto the end that was showing and gently started to pull it. As I pulled the ribbon the lights started to change their colour, which caused the whole room to glow with it. I looked around in amazement and then to Ben who looked happier than a hippo. I felt tears of joy forming in my eyes. The colour blue was glowing ever so brightly and surrounded the room. Everything was in a different shade of it and it was such a beautiful sight.

"I'm going to have a boy," I exclaimed as tears of happiness ran down my face. I ran to Ben and he lifted me up in a large embrace.

"Thank you, for everything." I whispered

He gently set me down as the star lights faded back to white. His hands stayed wrapped softly around my waist as I kept my arms rested on his shoulders. He moved a hand slowly up to my face and caressed my cheek with his thumb. I looked up into his large, puppy-like eyes that sparkle like a galaxy and I seem to get lost in them instantly. I felt his breath come onto mine and our lips met. I felt like I was going to explode with feelings, while my face burned brighter than his saber.

My eyes opened wide and were greeted by the galaxy again - the eyes that pierce right into my heart. Without a word being said, we stayed there as if time had stopped. We stared at each other with only the slight sounds of wind and snow outside. I noticed his face turned a slight shade of red.

"Thank you Ben, really. This was truly the best gift anyone could have ever given me." I said softly.

"No, thank you Rey. Before you came here I was lonely, hopeless, and struggling to feel like I belonged. You brought joy back into my life. I would give up being the Supreme Leader anytime if it meant I could spend the rest of my life with you." He replied.

Before I could say anything more, my eyes were closed and I felt his hot breath on mine once again.

2 and a half months later:

The cold winter months were coming to a close, as well as my time here with Ben. The baby was due any time now and my trip home would be shortly after. Ben and I had grown so very close throughout the past few months and the last thing I wanted to do was leave this place, but I didn't want to stay longer then I was invited for. Though I was not going to admit it to myself, I didn't want to go back to my home planet. I had nothing to go back to anyway, so why did I want to go back? Everything I could have ever wanted was right here. I had no family waiting for me at home and the few friends I had were on this planet. No matter how hard I tried to find one good reason to go back to my home planet, I just couldn't think of anything. The more I thought about it the more I realized I really did not want to go back home, because that wasn't my true home anymore. My true home was here. Here is where I feel safest, where I could be myself, and here was where I was around the people I loved the most. I made a decision right then and there that I wanted to stay with Ben, that is if he would let me. I just needed to think of a way to ask him. The first thing that had come to mind was to write him a note, so that's what I did. The letter read:

Dear Ben,
I have had such an amazing time here with you over the past few months and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for everything you have done for me. All I wanted to do after Finn passed away, was to go to my home planet. I was so closed up to everyone and I did not want any help. The more time I spent with you though, the more I realized that home isn't just the place you are born in. It's the place where you feel most accepted, most wanted, and most loved. For me that place is here. With you, Ben. The person I love the most. If you'll have me, I'd like to stay with you forever. I know it's rather sudden and I understand if it's too much for you right now. If however you want me to stay, Please stop me from going.

I folded up the letter quickly and went to put it quietly in his room. Luckily he was out at a meeting so I was able to put it on his bed without him or anyone else noticing. Now all I had to do was wait.
