I see a person at the corner of my eye so I stop moving. I turn to see who it is and realize it's the high priest. I wonder what he would be doing in the woods. Note the sarcasm. Almost everybody hates Zane, but I hate him the most. He killed my whole family and no one found evidence of what he did. I will get my revenge but I can't just kill him in the woods and walk away. Someone will definitely find him and point to me, but If he kills me no one will ever know.

"We meet again, Paisley... It nice to see you. But I just wonder what would happen if someone was in the middle of the woods. No. Where. To. Go." He said staring straight at me. He grips the end of his diamond sword unsheathing it. He points it straight at me. I really need to find a village before I get murdered by him. I haven't found a village that would let me stay because I don't have anything. I can either run away or stay. I think I should run after I talk to him for a bit. Just For safety measures I unsheathe my iron sword and point it at him too.

"I would say I'm glad to see you too, but I'd be lying." I say glaring at him. I take steps back wanting to be far away when he tries to kill me but he just comes closer. I know he's gonna kill me 'cause he's been looking for me the last few years. I step back one more step but trip on a rock and fall. My iron sword slides on the wet grass away from my reach.

Zane smirks and starts walking towards me and I just watch him cautiously. I stand up carefully and knowing I'll have to leave my sword I start running away. I look back and see him just standing there smirking at me.

"I would really love to follow you but I need to get back to the village." He says sheathing his sword and walking away like nothing ever happened. I stop running and watch until he disappears in the trees. I walk over to my sword and pick it up. I grip the end of the sword and walk the opposite way of Zane looking out for anything that could kill me.

I hear a rustle in the bushes and I cautiously step towards them. I get closer and closer and big pile of feathers pops out. I jump back scared and then start walking away. I'm so glad it was just a chicken. I start sprinting in a different way knowing I've been going in one direction for 3 days.

I've been walking and running for 1 hour now and still I haven't found a village but I did find another chicken in the bushes. Funny. I keep walking on the hard ground exhausted. I can't believe I am this far out in the woods. I feel like a turtle. I should just try another way. It's not like I really will find a village that will let me in after what happened with one of the jury of nine guards. I'm about to turn another way to run when I see a gate not that far away. Jackpot.

Garroth

I see a person walk towards the gate and I ready my sword. I know it could be a traveler and there is a gate but I have to be safe. I realize it's a woman and she looks worn out. She looks like she hasn't eaten in days. When she gets to the gate she leans against the wood. "What's your name?" I ask and she jumps back startled, probably not knowing I was there. She leans against the wood again and looks at me.

"My name is Paisley." She replys and I let her in knowing she can't do anything. I pull the lever and the gate slides up. She almost goes up with it but quickly lets go. She walk in slowly and leans against the wall in exhaustion. Now that she's close enough I realize she is kinda cute. That's when I suddenly get nervous. I'm always nervous around pretty girls it's not fair. It's not my fault really well I guess it is but that's not what we want to think about right now. "Where did you come from?" I ask her and she tenses up. I guess that was a bad question to ask.

"I don't really come from anywhere I've been out in the woods trying to find a village that will let me in for 3 years." She exclaims and that's when I really feel bad for her but like other people, no one wants pity so I don't say anything about that. She looks over my shoulder raising a eyebrow. I turn around to see Laurence walking towards us. He finally gets here and stares straight at her. He looks back at me raising a eyebrow too. "Who's this? " he asks wiggling his eyebrows. I just sigh and shake my head. It's just the good old Laurence.

"This,"I say pointing at her"is Paisley and she needs to rest, but first can you get Aphmau." I say to Laurence and he shakes his head. I give him a confused look and he stares at me. So he wants me to go? No. I glare at him for a while and he pouts. I sigh knowing he'll never give up and I walk away.

Paisley

Well that was weird. They were having a stare down for like an eternity. Laurence leans against the wall and faces me. "What you want to talk about?" I ask awkwardly looking over his shoulder not really wanting to look in his eyes. He just shrugs his shoulders still looking at me. Why does he keep staring at me? It's kinda uncomfortable.

"You have family?" He says breaking the silence. Why does everyone have to ask that question?! I could just tell him the truth. I could tell Garroth later if Aphmau will let me stay here. "Well I don't have any more family... Nobody found proof, but I saw Zane... He m-murdered my parents and my baby brother." I say slowly holding back the tears. One slips down my cheek and I hope Laurence didn't see that. I wipe it away and look up at Laurence. He has a hard expression and his hands are clenched. Well now I really know everybody hates him. Except his accomplice that helped him. I didn't see his face, but I definitely know it's a guy.

I just look at the bushes so he can't see my face. I see them move and I stop thinking about my family. Laurence heard it and turns around. I creep up to it slowly and Laurence stays by my side. I put my hand on my sword and get ready for whatever it is. I look at Laurence and nod my head to the bushes. He goes closer and a chicken pops out. Why is there so many chickens popping out of bushes!

I chuckle and Laurence looks at me confused. "This is the third time today a chicken popped out of the bushes." I say still laughing. He chuckles a bit and I turn around to see a laughing Garroth and I'm guessing Aphmau. I glare at Garroth and he laughs harder. I sigh and and walk over to them. "I'm Paisley." I say and she looks at me smiling. I look at her and realize she is really beautiful. Her long dark hair cascading down her back in waves. Her dark brown eyes that looks like the beautiful woods. Everything is perfect about her.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Aphmau lord of Phoenix Drop. Garroth told me all about you and it would be lovely to have you here!" She says cheerfully and I give her a suprised face. I can't believe it was that easy. I can't wait until I can actually lay down on a soft surface. I've been sleeping in trees for three years. Just thinking about a bed makes me sleepy. "C'mon! Let's go!"
