It was rather amusing in some respect; Charles's attempts at invoking some sort of confidence in both the mutants either side of him. Though Liesel had taken a wide step to the side on the gravel pebbled path the three stood on. Erik remained leaning against one of the walls on the ground floor. Truth be told he was trying to find something to pass the time. So out of curiosities sake he went to watch this training session. No one else seemed to care much for it, which meant he was basically alone in watching. Not that he cared. He actually rather preferred it.

Hearing footsteps he looked over his shoulder at Darwin, "Hey there," he sent a wave in Erik's direction and got a nod in return, and not a whole lot else. Looking back out of the window, Erik had it in mind to just concentrate on what was happening outside. It was easier said than done when Darwin appeared by his side, hands casually in his pockets and eyes focussing on the three outside. Charles had seemingly said something which sent Liesel off, she was animatedly pointing a finger at him, then at Hank, and then a hand got waved in the air before she sighed and hung her head.

Darwin couldn't help it, he laughed. Mainly because it was funny to see Hank's bemused expression and Charles's patient one. He was evidently patiently waiting for her to finish before talking some more. "She's certainly dramatic."

"Don't let her hear you say that." Erik replied duly while casting a glance to Darwin. "Not unless you make it a habit to be glared at?"

"Nah," Darwin replied with a smile. "It's something I tend to try and avoid." Which was true. He had made it a point to try and get on with everyone. And in part he believed he did. Sure he seemingly got on with Sean and Alex the most, but that wasn't to say he didn't civilly get on and chat with Raven, or even Moira; even though the female agent seemed a little lost in the small group of mutants. It was a little tricky to know where to stand when in her company, Darwin felt. Hank and Liesel were by far the most socially awkward, but then Darwin found himself retracting this. Trying to talk to Erik was like trying to get blood from a stone. It was impossible. Seeing as himself and Charles were clearly the more powerful, and in part the two everyone else seemed to listen to, Darwin found that talking to Charles was no way as hard as this. Actually, considering it looked like Erik was flat out ignoring him, Darwin stood frowning in thought. He couldn't have done something to offend the other male; seeing as how they hardly interacted, saying or doing something wrong to irritate him was incredibly low. There was really only one thing for it, "Have I done something?" Darwin asked. It was the only thing to do. To find out the problem go straight for the source.

It just so happened though that the source let out a sigh and pushed away from the wall he was leaning against and looked to him with a blank look. "No." And that was apparently all Darwin was getting, he couldn't help but frown and feel like Erik was lying. Rolling his eyes back to the window, Erik nodded slowly in Liesel's direction. "Be careful with her." Erik turned and decided that he'd either go watch this session elsewhere, or just return to his room. "You're lucky enough to have somehow earned her trust. Don't break that trust." Erik looked over his shoulder, Darwin hadn't moved yet looked at him with a frown. "You won't like where that road leads to."

"You could just tell me to back off, you know? Surely that would be simpler?"

Erik smiled thinly, "Such flippant words don't hold much gravity though, do they when in comparison?" He shrugged and continued on his way. "And you're wrong, I'm not telling you to back off. I'm just warning you that if you break her trust as a friend, you won't only have her to possibly deal with." Personal hurt Erik had always somehow manage to deal with, but personal hurt and Liesel? No. That was hurt he took on board too.

"Does she know?"

Erik stopped upon hearing something totally irrelevant to what he just said. "What?" He half turned and looked back to Darwin.

He stood with a knowing look and a rather smug smile. Erik narrowed his eyes at that, he didn't like that look one bit. "That you love her." It was a statement not a continuation of his earlier question. Darwin expected a reaction, just not one which involved a roll of the eyes and a shrug. He didn't quite know how he was meant to take that, so he just stood and watched Erik walk away. He made a mental note to perhaps avoid future conversations. The man was rather impossible. Intense and impossible. How Charles managed to freely converse with him with no troubles, Darwin did not know. He couldn't lump Liesel in with this moment considering he'd learned they grew up together. If anyone was used to his ways, it would be her.

"You idiot! If I freely unleash my power for the sake of whatever this is you may get hurt! Not only you, but Hank too! Seriously...can we just not do this?"

"You're afraid?" Charles watched as Liesel calmed down. Not once really had she ever shown fear of her power, this was a first.

Squeezing her eyes shut she relented in sighing heavily and looking to him. "I walked into a bank, unleashed all I had stored and knocked out several people, as well as obliterating the security cameras. I am not afraid of this suggestion of yours, I'm merely concerned I'll hurt you in the process." Liesel didn't quite like hurting people, not when they were considered friends.

"You won't."

"You don't know that!" Liesel exclaimed and waved Charles's hand away when he went to reassuringly place it against her shoulder. "Hank, honestly, are you confident with running with me, knowing full well you may be zapped?"

"Well, it does fill me with some trepidation."

"See!"

Charles sighed and looked between them. Liesel looked rather adamant about not doing this, while Hank looked incredibly sceptical. With another sigh, he placed a hand on Hank's arm and tugged him back a step or two. Liesel watched with a growing frown, she didn't get what exactly the new plan was until Charles gestured a hand to her. "You get a head start."

"Then it isn't a race." She plainly stated while crossing her arms and shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

"Well, yes, but seeing as how I am not allowing you to back out of this, this is the only resolution I can think of. It will still allow me to assess both of your speeds, and ability to use your powers. So yes, get to it, Liesel." Charles explained while waving a hand her way.

She narrowed her eyes yet turned to face forwards. "If there's a back fire, I apologise now." She said while placing her hands together against her chest and inhaling deeply. Releasing the breath she hung her arm by her side, whereas the other outstretched. It was much different, harder in fact trying to use electric pulls to move when outside and away from any electrical things she could leech off of. With a groan she looked at her hand before trying again. "It isn't working!" She said dramatically while leaning her head back and frowning irritatedly.

"May I ask how did you manage before?"

"I interfered with stuff in the manor."

Charles rubbed a hand to his chin in thought. "What drove you to use this as a way of moving?"

Liesel scrunched her nose up and looked over her shoulder at him. "Erik is fast, but he's not that fast as to be able to move out of my reach if I'm like...that..." Liesel trailed off awkwardly. "I wanted to be faster to catch him, and to hit that smug look off of his face. That motive doesn't exactly help me now, does it?"

"No," Charles agreed. "No it does not." Stepping forwards he rubbed his hands together and looked to the stretch of path before them. "A goal, that is what you seemingly need. See the first turning? I bet both Hank and myself could get there before you. Or even Hank himself. I propose that at each new turn the path takes, we can get there first."

"Right."

"Right?" Charles asked while she looked sceptical. She nodded slowly though. Seemingly thinking over his proposal as a way of looking at this.

"Would you step back, please?" Liesel questioned him, Charles was still standing by her side. As if registering what she had said, he nodded quickly and stepped away.

"Don't try too hard."

"What? So you two can beat me? Perish the thought."

Charles laughed quietly at this and shook his head, not that she could see that action. "I didn't mean it like that. I meant it in a way as to not cause yourself harm."

Liesel let out a quiet acknowledging noise while holding up an arm and extending her fingers in the direction that she wished to go. She had hoped that by doing this, she would actually travel in the straight line she needed to, and not shuttle off in another direction. As wishful thinking as this was, as soon as she felt the pulling tingling which circulated her the last time she did this; she went hurtling forwards. Her form vanished for a few seconds, before crashing off to the side on the lawn. She managed to scramble and roll backwards and push herself upright. Running and jumping forwards, she gritted her teeth and pointed at the path. She really wished to be up there, not down here. She yelped as she landed and skidded along the path, kicking up pebbles and gravel as she went. Wayward sparks flicked into the air, even more appeared as she pushed herself up and tried again. She disappeared from view again before appearing by Charles's side. She was covered in dirt and grass stains. A few small grazes were on her cheeks and arms, her hands looked a little scorched too.

"No more." She backed off and went towards the steps. "Yes, I am perhaps one of the fastest people here, but as you can see I can't direct myself. I just go here, there and everywhere. If you have a suggestion to get direction under control, then I'll try again. But as for now, I'm going to sit here and watch as Hank beats you in a race." Liesel sat down and leaned her arms against her knees and smiled at the two males. "Go on, get to it." She smirked using Charles's earlier words. He merely rolled his eyes and after an exchanged look with Hank the two set off. Liesel watched them go with a smile, before they disappeared and she looked to her hands. Rubbing her fingers together she slowly managed to get feeling in them. The numbing tingle slowly dissipated much to her happiness.

"You can always try the bunker." Liesel turned and looked to Moira. She didn't even know how long she'd been there for. Walking down the steps she pointed a finger to the upturned grass and scorch marks where Liesel had landed. "In an enclosed environment you might be able to sort out your directional problem."

Liesel stood and crossed her arms. "Are you suggesting in helping me train?"

"I can help you, you know." Moira replied while nodding backwards. She turned and started back to the manor with Liesel trotting behind her. "Only because I don't understand you on the same level as Charles, still doesn't mean that I can't understand and help in my own way." She explained while pushing the doors open. "And you know, perhaps a solution to your directional problem lies with something to lock onto."

Liesel's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at this. "Like a predetermined target."

"Well, yes, or at least until you finally manage to direct yourself."

"You've hung around Charles for too long." Liesel mumbled while Moira looked at her oddly. "You do sound a lot like him right now. Shame he didn't have the brain cells to think this up." She smiled awkwardly, "Plan?"

Moira diverted into Hank's lab space and reappeared with two conductors. Both had a stem the length of Liesel's arm, with a round top on both. She shrugged, Moira's hints seemed simple but effective. The two managed to get down to the bunker without bumping into anyone. Once inside Moira set a conductor at both ends. "I can't tell you what to do here, I'm afraid that's up to you."

"I'm sure I'll feel what to do...maybe...you best leave, don't want you to get hurt." Liesel smiled and rocked on her heels while watching the brunette leave. The door slammed and it was just her. Clapping her hands together she looked at the conductor behind her and then to the one at the other end of the large room. Holding a hand up she shot at it, and it naturally sparked with the new electricity which ran through it. But before that fizzled out to nothing, she locked onto that sparking pull and pulled back.

In a blink she appeared before the small hatch with Moira blinking with wide eyes at the sparking fizzing image of Liesel that just appeared. "It worked!" Liesel called and clapped her hands together. She yelped at the sudden shots which she accidentally unleashed from this before grinning and going to the other side of the room in a sudden flash. She happily called out and cheered and appeared again before the hatch. "This is fun!" Honestly, she was having a whale of a time. Moira was right, she needed something to lock onto and pull herself forwards on. If she followed the trail of her shot, she could go in the same direction. And because the conductor stored the shot, she could absorb it back and use it to shoot at the other. Thus Liesel became a slingshot and vaulted between the two before she eventually stopped and stood looking through the hatch. "You have to find Charles and tell him we've solved this riddle!"

Moira merely nodded and backtracked. Liesel watched her go before frowning, shaking her hands she attempted to get feeling back into them. She did not recall numbness before, but then she had to remind herself she was using everything she had got. Side effects were bound to happen. Leaning forwards and looking into the glass of the hatch she frowned. One side effect she did not expect was a faint glowing blue to be running over and seemingly underneath her skin. Looking down she turned her hands over. She was alight, illuminated from within. She could see her veins which were glowing a white blue, her skin in general seemed to pale from this, to appear almost opaque.

Hearing voices she quickly snapped her head upwards. Whatever Charles was saying died as he looked in at her. "What did you do?" He asked and looked to the side as Moira briefly explained their experiment. He looked unamused by this revelation, yet held a hand out to the door. "May I see?" He asked, Liesel slowly nodded seeing as how he wasn't as annoyed as he appeared she held a hand out and followed through with the actions she did several times previously. "Interesting. But answer me this, how do you plan on dispelling all that stored energy?" This experiment was all well and good, but she was now harbouring an awful lot of unshed energy. She hadn't actually used her power in an effective way to prevent it backlogging. Hence why she was literally glowing. Her body was trying to dispel it somehow, yet she kept going and was ignoring this.

"Ah! Shut your eyes. You don't want to be blind, no?" She asked and smiled when all eyes were shut. She shut hers too and clapped her hands, the jolt and shock of all the energy suddenly leaving her caused her to falter back a step or two. She squinted an eye open, the blinding flash of light was dying in the air. "Can I come out now?" She placed her hands against the door and smiled at them.
